Tri 5 Sled Build! 97 Polaris XC 600 Triple Ep. 3

The Levi Tri 5 is less than a month a way! It's time to get our sled ready for racing!
Last summer we picked up a 1997 Polaris XC 600 Triple that had been stored outside for a few years. In the last episode, Ryan cleaned off years of gunk, leaves and debris, revealing the Indy's swanky 90s colors. Today, he's going to get the old buggy started!
The neglected Indy has about 5,000 miles on it and hasn't run since 2021. The previous owner said it ran a little rough the last time he rode it, but we're hoping that with a little love, a few pulls and some liquid courage, we can coax the triple back to life.
Today Ryan is going through the motor just to get it started. He removed the air box and cleaned the carbs, replaced the brittle fuel lines and fuel filter, topped of the oil and coolant and filled the tank with some fresh gas and replaced the spark plugs. After years of sitting outside in the elements, will the old triple fire up? Or will Ryan throw his back out trying?
The Indy's seat is pretty nasty looking so Ryan gives it a quick fix with some Gorilla Tape®. We're going to the Tri 5 in style, Levi!
Our Tri 5 sled is also in need of some suspension work. Luckily one of our team members is really good at dialing in suspension and clutching so we'll be heading to his shop in an upcoming episode.
