It wasn't raining Saturday morning so I busted out the backpack leaf blower, and started clearing the course, 45 minutes in, and it started raining again,🙄 I finished cleaning the course, with hopes of the weather clearing, but nope, it's still raining,😒 and winter is rapidly approaching,😕 hopefully I can finish the current projects before the snow fly's,🙄🤞🙏👍

Because I live in a Rain forest,😒 it was supposed to be clear today, but nope it's raining,😕 it's really becoming a bummer, it did the same thing to me last fall too,🤔 except the weather went from day's of rain, straight into days of snow,😒 which makes cleaning up fallin leaves impossible until next spring, and that is a serious mess to deal with in the spring,🙄😭 I'm not trying to get you down, nor am I complaining, I'm just trying to say, that mother nature hasn't been playing nicely around here lately,😒 and it kinda puts a damper, on getting progress completed, out on the adventure course,🙄
But man oh man, am I ever jealous of you're awesome B.C. weather,😊👍👍

Me too,😂 it's been a busy summer, and between countless days of rain, and helping out my parents with other outdoor stuff, I haven't had any time for the trail network as of yet,☹️
We've been cutting down trees for next seasons firewood, Clearing more trees for extra space, added a new concrete patio to the house, along with two new concrete sidewalks, along with finishing up with a new addition on the house,🙄 and the rest of the time it's been raining.🤷😭 I'm crossing my fingers that I'll be able to get some track building time in before the snow fly's.🙄😊👍

I was working on it today as well, hence the delay in my reply,😊 almost got the backside of the sand hill completed, "Boulder walls, and the off shoot trail on the back of the hill" the off shoot trail being the main focus of construction, and tomorrow, I need to focus on getting the next "big" over under rock bridge completed, And it's going to be a challenge trying to get the top rock in place,🤔 I'm going to have to do it like the Egyptian's, Dirt pile, Log Rollers, and a Winch strapped to the front of the Quad,😁👍 I should probably film the whole event,😂 probably be interesting for someone to see, lol 👍

And it was certainly a ton of fun as well,😁 My project today, was finishing the new passage entrance on the backside of the sand hill, it's been changed slightly, and I made it a bit wider over all, adding a couple of different choices for traversing it,😊
Tommorow I'm going to Attempt to finish the new "Over under" rock bridge that is underneath the log bridge,🤔 which is going to be interesting, the top rock for the bridge, probably weighs close to 1,000 lbs,
I'm probably going to use ancient egyptian tech to get that into place, dirt pile, log rollers, and a Winch,😁👍

The most difficult part, is going to be getting the rock up on to the log rollers, after that it should go relatively smooth,🤔 But I will definitely be Cautious throughout the process,😊
The "winching" is probably going to be the most dangerous portion, and that is the possibility of having a Strap,or winch cable breaking,🤔 that could be deadly,🙄 The winch is attached to the front of a Suzuki 4x4 four wheeler, and it has a 6 ft long remote control cable, for the winch, Plus I'm going to drive a steel fence post a few feet into the ground behind the four wheeler, and then chain the four wheelers "Trailer hitch ball" directly to the fence post, so that it's completely anchored down, with no possiblity of rolling forward,😊 but it still leaves me with a danger zone,🤔
And that is, operating the winches remote,🙄 and I'll have to deal with that situation, after I get everything else set up,😕
But I'm crossing my fingers that it all goes smoothly,🤞

That Trailer is Full on, Mickey Mouse engineering, to the tenth power,🤔 or maybe it's closer to Pinky & the Brain🐀🛠️🐁🧠, Half of it is Genius, the other Half is Insane,😂 lmao
The trailer's main chassis, axles, and suspension, is from the Fy06, the trailers frame rails, are from a old aluminum TV antenna, the trailers deck, is a big piece of Thin sheet Stainless steel, that I folded in half three times, before bending, and "pop riveting" the corners together, The trailer deck planks, are thin cedar strips, that I ripped down on a band saw, from a short piece of cedar 2×4, and then "pop riveted" to the trailer, The trailer Hitch, is one of My Own Personal Designs, and a RC, "First of its Kind," Very unique! 😁
Using a rear drive shaft CV universal, from a Wltoys 10428,😂 "Ball and Cup"
The ball portion is mounted to the Vehicle, and the cup portion, is recessed into the trailer frame,😂 it looks very realistic, and functions better than anything on the market,😊👍👍 I came up with the idea/design around three years ago, when I broke my stock plastic trailer hitch, from my NQD jet boats, boat trailer,🤔💡
And the idea was born,😊
I believe that I have a video, showing the process for that one too, it's a sick hitch! 😁👍 Then I made two more of those trailer hitches last year, for a couple of small steel single axle scale trailers, got a couple videos of those in Action too, towing the trailer behind my Sunset Trx4 Bronco,😁 and then there's This trailer, Which is the first one of my trailers to have a recessed hitch,😊👍
Basically, the cup portion is mounted to the trailer, the ball portion is mounted to the Vehicle, and it's pined together, with a body mount pin instead of a "short solid cv joint pin & coil retainer"
The body pin goes into the cv cup,then through the cv ball, and back out the other side of the cv cup,😊👍
I need to patent it,🤔😁👍
It's Genius really,😂 lol
Not only does it function better than anything on the market, but it's also tougher than anything on the market, and it's the most realistic looking hitch, that is "technically" not on the market,🤔😂 lol but easy enough to make with some spare parts,😁👍

Long before I started my channel, I used to work at a landscape supply store, And for 13 years straight, I had to work 6, to 7 days week, along with every stinking Holiday, including Christmas, and New year's Eve, we sold Bulk Road salt by the Ton all winter long, and open 24hrs when it snows,🙄 and it usually snows on Christmas, and New year's, talk about a bummer,☹️ a whole bunch of wrecked evenings out with the girlfriend, nothing like being called into work at 11pm, on New year's eve,🙄 and I got to spend my summer's sweating my butt off in a Triple Axle, 15 yard, 15 speed, 1999 "Sterling" Dump truck, while my Friends where out Playing on their Dirt bikes,or Harley's,☹️ That's always fun when you are working on the weekend, and all you here on the radio is talk about Harley events, all your friends are going, And you are stuck in a Dump truck Delivering landscape supplies to People who live in Million dollar houses, the same people who ask you to do the impossible, and aren't the least bit grateful after you did the impossible,🤔 all while you're friends are out having fun,😕 I know all too well about that kinda stuff, and have put up with it for my entire working career in the landscape industry,🙄
I "personally" can't drive a Commercial Vehicle anymore, After 13 years, and 265,000 miles, driving around Oakland county morning, noon, and night, through every traffic situation imaginable, I started getting to the point of Teaching people how to drive, while driving a Fifty Seven Thousand pound Vehicle,😕 😂 if it's one thing that I learned over the years, it's that the more money People have to spend on a car, the less they know about driving a car,🤔 and That's the Truth!
I retired myself from that situation, Road Rage was immanent,😤🙄 I could write a book on that subject,😕
But once again, Bill's need to get paid, and ultimately, you got to pay in order to play as well,😕

I've been into RC model building for over 40 years and this is my first crawler, I came across your channel when I was researching crawlers and the pure sound (no music) and commentary really appealed to me, I love the Bronco's and that got me thinking about where I wanted to go with my crawler... if you take a look at my channel you will see that my models have a theme.... well, my Bronco is along that same theme. As for the Quick Sand! Well what can I say, I'm trying to keep it Real, and Big sand hills, are something that you commonly see on a lot, of the Real off-road Trails around these parts,😕 That and the fact that they aren't always like Quick sand, the sand consistency very's with the weather,🤔 if it's been dry for a few days,it turns into quick sand, but for the most part, it's usually always raining around here,🙄 so it's not like that all the time, all depends on what day your out running on it,😕🙂👍
One thing that I Really like about it, when it is like Quick sand, is that it can be one of those "Great Equalizer" Obstacles,😁
And it also adds a bit of a Challenge, that most Rock Crawler's aren't used to,😂
I love the Sand Hills, out here on the course, just for that fact,😊 But they aren't everything, There is a lot more to this adventure course, then just the sand hills,
On a side note; The R.C.A.D. Off-road Adventure Park, is Constantly Changing, Growing, and Expanding,😁
And those Sand Hills, are going to be a very small part by comparison,😊👍

And fyi this is actually a Wltoys 10428, which is the 1/10 scale version, And the 12428, is the 1/12 scale version, which is slightly smaller all around, and has a entirely different drive train, compared to the 12428,😕 But the 12428 is still a fun buggy to get started with,😊👍

I think it's time to upgrade out wltoys car 😎 Another fantastic video - the course really shows off the suspension and articulation of these vehicles 😎

As for upgrading the Wltoys 10428; it's becoming a impossible task to complete, You can upgrade them a little bit, with wltoys Upgrade part's, but if you really want to upgrade it, you need to convert the entire drive train to a "Vaterra" Twin Hammer's Drive Train, and that is the Problem, Vaterra stopped producing the Twin Hammer's back in 2012,🤔
And parts are getting to be very few, and far between,
I had a very difficult time, finding all the needed parts to convert this one over,🤔
The majority of parts are still available, but the last few "critical parts" are not available, and you absolutely need them, in order to get everything to function together,🤔☹️
Another reason not to do it, Is because it's a very expensive project, 😕
And for roughly the same amount of "total" money invested, You could buy a brand new Traxxas "Trx4",
You could buy a "Redcat" Gen 8 Scout II, for the price of all the conversion Parts that are required,🤔 add in the initial price of the Wltoys 10428, and your getting close to the price of a Traxxas Trx4 Bronco,🤔
As you I'm sure well know,
Hobby grade RC's, are always the best way to go, vs Toy Grade RC's,😕 And Wltoys are "Toy Grade" RC's,
☹️ I currently have Two of them that are built to a Vaterra Twin Hammer's status, This one, and my blue "10428a", That one is Insane,😂 lol, and cost me around $1,300.00 dollars to get it that way,🤔😬 Esh!
I also have a Vaterra Twin Hammer's as well,😊👍
So technically I have three of them, but I gave my Twin Hammer's to my Neice, "who was eleven at the time", as her first Crawler, and I gave this green wltoys 10428, to my brother, as a Birthday gift, last year,😕
So my channel has three of them, but I only own one of them,😂 which is the first one of the bunch, "The blue 10428a" I bought that one first, then my buddy bought this green wltoys shortly after, and then I bought the Twin Hammer's shortly after that, and then I built the 💩 out of the blue Wltoys, turning into a Traxxas VXL 3s 3600kv Brushless powered "Completely Amphibious" Hydroplane truck,😂 lol
It's also Faster than Sin! 😁
And then shortly after that,
I moved up north to my current location, But before I moved, "literally" sitting in the moving truck, I traded my friend a bunch of 1980's gi-joe vehicle's and figures, for all of his RC's, which included this green wltoys 10428,😊 and a Traxxas E-maxx, and a Hpi 4×4 drift car, 😂👍 lol I drove the moving truck to his house, on my way out of town,😁
As for the RC's, it didn't really matter as far as he was concerned, As I was the person, who was always called upon, for wrenching on them,😕😁👍
Anyways,😁 there's the history on those Vehicle's,
😂👍 Lol
Moral of the story, Don't waste money on a Wltoys,
Spend a little extra for a Hobby Grade RC, and you will not only save money in the long run, but you will also be much happier for it,

I gave my brother this one in stock form, he paid for all the Upgrade part's, and I did the entire build, but I don't recommend it for anyone,
The vehicle is darn near Bullet Proof by the time it's converted, but it's a very expensive process,😕
The only reason that this one got built, Was because he wanted it, that way he and his daughter could "essentially" go wheelin with the same type of Vehicle's,

@@R.C.A.D. - Hey no worries, I appreciate the time and effort you take to make these videos. I never heard of the twin hammers until I watched your videos - perhaps not so big over here. Our WLToys was brought around 4 years ago as a bit of a fun truck for my son and I to play around with, and to be fair in stock form its taken a hammering. I was impressed out of the box what it could do especially since not being in the hobby since the early 1990's and having Tamiyas such as the Boomerang, Blackfoot and clodbuster.
I keep looking at the TRX4 and the more I read, the more I see you need to upgrade them from stock, mainly due to the electrics - saying more to building a SCx in kit form, or trying the or may take a punt on the clone.
Until I finally decide, we're keep the non reversing WLToys (waiting parts from China) and the FTX Kanyon rolling up the woods, and hopefully when our lockdown is over get out further afield. Now, just one more video before returning to work.....
Wltoys are great for taking a Beating I'll say that,😂👍
As for Trx4's and electronics issues,🤔
I haven't had any issues with any of my Trx4's, other than the stock Steering servo going out kinda quick, but I believe that was due to lack of voltage,😕 which can be taken care of, by purchasing the Traxxas Complete BEC kit, which I highly recommend installing, before you drive the vehicle for the first time,
The Bec kit, gives all the servos a positive 6 volts of Electricity all the time,(no more than 6v and no less than 6v,) and that will seriously prolong the life of all the servos,😊
Other than that, I have never had any other problems with the Trx4's, and I've put Hundreds of hours on my Bronco's,😕😊👍 All in all, it's my favorite RC, out of the Vehicle's in the"R.C.A.D." arsenal, I love the Trx4's 🥰
With my C10 Vaterra Ascender in a close second,
As for Axial's; 🤔😕 hmm
They are good Vehicle's no Doubt about it, but I don't know, I'm not the biggest fan I suppose, A lot plastic crap that needs to get swapt out,💰🤔 we have three Scx24's, and there great,😁👍 and we also have a RTR Axial Wraith 1.9, and in all honesty my Wltoys 10428a does just as well as the Wraith,😕 and the Wraith, is a serious pain in the rear end to work on as well,🤔😕 back when I was just getting back into the Hobby again, I was doing some major RC research,😕 "that was before the Trx4 was in Existence" I wanted a Tamiya Bruiser, but I was also checking out the Rc4wd Trail Finder two, and the Vaterra Ascender's, and the Axial scx10II cheap cherokee Kit's,🤔
I watched a ton of comparison videos, did a bunch of parts Research, and discovered that "Rc4wd" Made the bulk of the Bruiser Upgrades,😕

And I weeded out the Axial & the Ascender,😕

At the moment though, my Hornet, is the only Vehicle that is needs to be repaired,😊👍 I have a O.G. midnight pumpkin "in almost perfect condition" that I could Robb the diff from, but I don't want to robb Pete, in order to pay Paul,🤔😕 Believe it or not, Tamiya Hornet Differential gears are tuff to find, 😕

I've found them online elsewhere,🤔 But the site's look sketchy to me, and I'm always on guard about that kinda stuff,😕 I might end up doing, the old "jb weld routine" on it,😂 tuff part would be making sure that it's balanced,🤔 it's spinning at some crazy rpm's, with the 3500 kv Brushless system, and it will tear itself up in a few seconds, if it's too far out of wack,🤔
I'm kinda thinking about getting a new stock plastic diff, and taking it to a machine shop, to see how much it would be to get one made out of "impact socket Steel" 😂👍 lol Only so much money to go around, so that's kinda at the bottom of the priority list, lol
And I'm also waiting on a new motherboard, for my Huina 1550 excavator,🤔 so I suppose that I actually have two vehicles in need of fixing,😂 lol

Wltoys 10428 Green Hammer; The only stock part's remaining are, Frame, Body, Shock's, Rear Suspension link's, Steering link's, and the Front Camber link's.
Everything else, and I mean Everything else is Vaterra Twin Hammer's part's, Front diff case, Front Differential, Front out drives, Front Cvds, Front Control arm's, Front uprights, Front drive shaft coming from the Transmission, Transmission case, Transmission Gear's, Slipper Clutch, Spur gear is a Team Losi kevlar spur gear, Rear drive shaft, Rear axle, Rear axle shafts, Rear Differential, Along with full sealed ball bearings, and required hardware.
Transmitter is a Spektrum DX4C, Receiver is a Spektrum Sr315 3 channel, Steering Servo is a Savox Sw 0231mg, and it has a Axial AE5 ESC.
Light's are fully Custom, using Yeah Racing Ultra Bright white LED lights.
Wheels are made by Boom Racing, and they are 1.9 Sandstorm Krait Aluminum Beadlock's, and the Tires are Rc4wd 1.9 Interco Iroks.
Note; Front & Rear Differentials are both fully locked, and Both Ring & Pinions are Helical Cut Gear's.😁👍
And my Wltoys 10428a is basically the exact same as far as what's wltoys and what isn't wltoys, the only major difference is that I have a Steel MIP Rear Drive shaft on the wltoys 10428a.

As for how long the it will run on one charge, That all depends really, if you are asking about a Completely Stock Wltoys 10428, with it's included, 2200 mAh 7.4v 25c 2s lipo, Then I would say around 45 minutes, or so, give or take,🤔
Otherwise, it all depends on what type, and size, of battery that you are running,
When it comes to lipos, the higher the mAh rating, the longer the run time, for instance, I'm running a Duratrax Onyx, DTXC 1883, 8000 mAh 25c 7.4v 2s lipo, in my Traxxas Trx4 Bronco,
And even after running it, for over 4 hours straight with the lights on,in the middle of the night, and the battery never went dead,😊
The C rating on lipo batteries, is referring to the batteries discharge rate, 25c is a nice even flow of juice from beginning to end,
And the higher you go with the C rating, the Higher the discharge rate is, This is a good way of thinking about it, The more C that you have, the more Punch your vehicle will have, when you Stab the throttle,😊 but it's not going to make your vehicle any faster going wide open,😕 it just gives you more Punch, Which comes in handy some times,😊
If you are going out crawling at night let's say,
and you are going to be out for a while, and you are running a full array of lights, along with a winch, You would probably want a battery with a high mAh rating, say around 6000-8000 mAh, and with a C rating between 25c-35c,
25c being more preferred for lengthy Run's, while powering multiple items off of your battery,👍
Another thing to Consider with the C rating, is that most "cost effective Esc's"
Can't really handle anything more than 50c,🤔 and they do make lipo batteries, with C ratings above 100c,😕
I probably wouldn't go above 45c, with a stock wltoys Esc,🤔 😕 it may damage it,👍
This wltoys, is no longer a Wltoys really,😕 everything on the inside, is Hobby Grade, Everything has been converted to "Heavy Duty" Vaterra Twin Hammer's Drive Train part's, "Full Vaterra Drive Train" with a Savox sw 0231mg waterproof Steering servo, Axial AE5 Esc, Spektrum Sr415 Receiver, Rc4wd Wired Winch Controller, Six forward facing LED's, with Two Red, led tail lights, and a Rc4wd 27t brushed motor, running on a Duratrax Onyx DTXC 2002, 6000mAh 7.4v 50C 44Wh 2s lipo, Fyi the "Wh" rating, stands for "Watt Hour's" 🙄 basically saying that this battery will last for 44 hours, at 1 Watt per hour,😕 don't need to pay too much attention, to that rating,😁👍
So this vehicle, with this setup, running on this particular battery, with all the lights on, would probably run for anywhere between 1.5, to maybe 2.5 hours, depending on how much you are spinning the tires,🤔 with this batteries 50c rating, the more tire spinning you do, the faster the battery will drain,😕
Now let's say we had the same battery, but with a 25c rating, instead of the 50c rating, in that situation, I would say that the vehicle would probably run for a good 2.5 to 3 hours or so,
😕 So your question, isn't exactly a cut, and dry to answer,😁👍 But hopefully I was able to give you some better insight into it all,😊

Shock oil; 🤔 hmm I knew that I forgot something, 😂 lol I didn't do anything to the shock's, but if I did, I would have probably used some Trinity 30 or 30.5 wt shock oil.😁👍 Otherwise they are still holding up great. 😄👍

Front shock mounts or front shock Arrangement;🤔
I could probably get the parts from Wltoys USA to change the Front shock Arrangement, 🤔 But in all honesty, the cantilever set up works pretty well, So my thoughts on that are "If it Ain't Broke, Don't fix it!" 😂

😕 I thought that I mentioned something about how it was accomplished, at the beginning of the video,🤔
Rc4wd 110mm King off-road shocks, and I replaced the stock shock springs, with a Rc4wd 110mm King off-road Shock spring kit, which came with several different springs, and I installed the softest springs onto the truck, which intern, sagged out the suspension travel, right now, it has about 8mm's of upward travel 👆, before it bottoms out the Shocks, and the rest of the travel is all downward, 👇
Giving the vehicle an extreme amount of downward stretch to maintain contact with the ground, and it works quite well too,😊👍

Highly modified... It's entire drive train has been switched over to a Vaterra Twin Hammers Drive Train, so it's gear cases are made of stronger plastic, and all of the moving parts are made out of tool steel and other very strong metals.

As for a brushless system;
I wouldn't recommend that with the stock wltoys drive train,🙄 unfortunately... it just can't handle the extra power,😕 First thing to go would be the smaller High/Low Gear's in the transmission, and then the Spur Gear would be the next item to strip out,🤔
Trust me on that, I know all to well about what happens when you overpower a Wltoys,🙄
Same thing with running the larger 2.2 Rc4wd Mud Slinger tires, The stock drive train can't handle the extra rotating mass,🙄 and the front CVD shafts will start breaking, or the front differential out-drive cups will literally Snap in half,🤔
I kinda recommend that you leave it in stock form for as long as possible,😕
When it comes to First upgrades for the Wltoys;
Number 1: I recommend swapping out all of the stock electronics for a Hobby Grade setup, (Transmitter,Receiver,ESC, and Servo's) And that will Drastically increase the Driveability factor, You will have much better throttle and breaking control,as well as strengthening the Steering which also adds to the control factor.😁
Number 2: Swapping out the Plastic wheel hexes for Aluminum wheel hexes.😁
Number 3: Swapping out the stock tires for a Better "Hobby Grade" set of 1.9" tires, (your choice on those)
Number 3: Run it like that for as long as you can 😁 or at least until stuff starts breaking.😂
As I said before, My Wltoys 10428 vehicles are Extremely Modified! Extremely...🤔 And not only does that cost a pretty penny, But as I said in several other previous comments to different people, Those aftermarket parts that I added, are pretty much Nonexistent anymore,😕 Once again my wltoys are more "Vaterra Twin Hammer's" then anything else,🤔😕 And unfortunately Vaterra stopped producing the Twin Hammer's in 2012, And then they went out of Business all together in like 2019 or something,😕 Which means that the Vaterra Twin Hammer's Part's supplies, are drastically running low,😞
Meaning that it's basically Impossible to get everything that you need to do the full conversion,😔
The last conversion that I did on a Wltoys 10428, was in July of 2020 I believe,🤔 And I had one hell of a time trying to get all of the required parts accumulated,
And I was forced into getting the last few parts from ebay, which was still darn near impossible 🤔😕
What I'm basically saying, is that it's most likely not possible to build one up like this anymore.☹️
That being said, Wltoys does make a set of all metal Transmission Gear's that you can still purchase, But that will only get you so far,🤔 after that things will start breaking further down the line, "weakest link's 🔗"
The next thing to go would be the front CVD shafts or Front diff out drive cups,🤔 "Which wltoys does sell" unfortunately though they are no stronger than the stock one's, And that weak link will be a Constant problem,🤔 Which is why I recommend that you leave it in stock form for as long as possible.😕
Wltoys are a Great "Introductory" RC vehicle, What I generally recommend to people, is that you drive it how it is for as long as you can, And if you feel like you Really enjoy the Hobby 😍 then the next thing to do, is to Step it up to a Hobby Grade RC,😊👍 Hobby Grade RC's are much better made, and they all have a long list of upgrade parts available,😁 Unlike a Wltoys 🙄
Wltoys has a bunch of Shiny Aluminum B.S. that you can purchase, But that stuff is just for Shelf Queens,😕 The Fact of the matter with the shiny aluminum bling, is that it's basically worthless, All of the plastic parts that the aluminum parts replace, will most likely never break, And plastic slides over rock better than Aluminum too, Which is why all that shiny aluminum bling, is nothing but Bull 💩 to waste money on,🙄😕 Total waste of money 💸🤔 Avoid the Fancy Aluminum Bling 👍
Other than wheels, and wheel hexes of course.

Hmm... at this point in time, I believe it was around Year Four. It's been a on going process since around spring 2018.🤔😕
I used to tell everyone that it was a ever expanding RC Adventure Park, But the last two years have been pretty much construction less.☹️
Last summer I was busy with stuff around the house and Property "Clearing property, Adding a new Barn, and Converting or old barn into a RC Workshop" and the year before was kinda similar,😕 We cleared some other land, between or old barn, and the RC adventure park, That was supposed to be for a Future RC workshop building, And then the plan changed shortly after, and we ended up building a new larger barn, in a completely different location, and then started converting the old barn into the new RC workshop.😂 lol
It was a busy and confusing couple of years around here.😕
Anyways... The adventure park construction will continue again this spring, 😁👍 The course is currently eating up about half an acre, and I've got 10 Acres at my disposal,😄 So the course will keep growing as time goes on.😊
And one day, it just might be open to the public, But right now it's strictly private, Reserved for Family, Friends, and Channel Subscribers only.😁👍

I have a wiltoys 10428green hammer with the same tire . The radio went blank after I replaced the wheel pins. Can you help me out?
Well just to clarify; 10 chances to 1 you don't have a Wltoys Green Hammer because this one is a One of a Kind Custom Built Vehicle, that is worth almost five times as much as a Standard Wltoys 10428.😕
This vehicles entire drivetrain is from a Vaterra Twin Hammers and not just a standard Twin Hammer's, it's got the Heavy Duty Twin Hammers parts that are made out of impact socket type steel, "extremely heavy duty" compared to a stock Wltoys.😕
And then there's the custom LED lights; I installed custom light buckets into all of the false light bucket areas on the body, as well as customizing the roll bar beneath the roof "in order fit the light buckets,🤔 and then added a custom panel to the rear of the vehicle, for a set of rear tail lights.😕
It also has a entirely different electronics, everything is hobby grade under the hood, The entire car is now Hobby Grade, or even slightly stronger than hobby grade, underneath the plastic body,😕 the body, frame, and shock's, are the only stock items left on this vehicle.
And then the vehicle was dubbed "The Wltoys Green Hammer" afterwards since it's part Wltoys 10428 and part Vaterra Twin Hammers.😕
So once again just to clarify, 10 chances to 1 you don't have a Wltoys Green Hammer 😂 lol
And probably never will either since Vaterra is no longer in business, and the required parts to do all of this, are no longer available.☹️ Which is sad for me too.
Since I own Three of these, One Custom built Wltoys 10428a, this custom built 10428, and one Actual "kit version" Vaterra Twin Hammers,😕 the Kit version twin Hammers came with all of the Heavy Duty parts,vs the RTR version of the twin hammers.😕

Did you check the batteries in your transmitter to make sure that they aren't dead or possibly slightly out of place ? 🤔
It's kinda odd that the screen would go out after changing something on the vehicle, "since the two aren't technically connected.😕
I'd suggest checking your Transmitter batteries first, and if the problem still exists, then I've got some good news and bad news for you,🤔 the bad news is that your going to need a new Transmitter,😕 and the good news is that it's the perfect time to upgrade to a Hobby grade Transmitter, Receiver, Servos, and Electronic Speed Controller.
😁 Which is probably one of the best initial upgrades that you can do to that vehicle,🤔 you wouldn't believe the difference it makes having the ability to have a stronger steering servo and better electronic speed control in that vehicle, 😕 The original equipment is garbage, and hobby grade electronics make a night and day difference "in how that vehicle drives.😁👍
As for replacing your stock transmitter for another replacement stock transmitter,🤔 I don't know if I would recommend that, generally speaking "with my Wltoys experience" the rest of your electronics will probably be following the transmitter next.😕
Usually the shift servo on the transmission is the first thing to go, and then the steering servo and esc/receiver will be a close second, and then the transmitter is usually last,🤔 Which makes me think that your transmitter might be just a matter of dead batteries, or a dislocated battery,😕 "Since the other stuff usually goes first"
Check out your transmitter batteries first Robert, and if that all checks out,then your gonna have to start thinking about either getting a new replacement Wltoys transmitter for it, or replacing all the electronics for a Hobby Grade setup.

That being said, if it is indeed evidence of Purgatory, then technically speaking, there's nothing to worry about, because we can't interact with them, and they have been here long before us, and will probably continue long after we have eventually passed on, and joined them in the giant waiting room,😕 and if it wasn't for the HDR Cameras,we would never have known to begin with, So tell your wife no worry's, and just keep living life as usual, they can't hurt or talk to us, and we can't effect them either, So "c'est la vie"

It's pretty much a Vaterra Twin Hammer's from top to bottom, with a "Wltoys 10428" Chassis, Body, and suspension system,🤔 But the Entire Drive-Train along with Rear Axle, Are all "Heavy Duty" Vaterra Twin Hammer's parts.😊👍
I can't remember the total number of part bags that I used to do the conversion, But I'm thinking that it was around 20-26 separate Vaterra Twin Hammer's part bag's, in total.🤔😕
And the total cost of everything that is on the vehicle, is probably in the neighborhood of $300-$450 U.S. dollars. "not including the initial price of the Wltoys 10428" 😕
I actually did a video on the entire conversion process, if you are interested in digging through my video archives that is,😂 lol only problem with the video "not that there's anything wrong with it" is that the videos speed has been sped up to save on time,😄 lol it's actually kinda funny, I sound like a chipmunk when I'm talking,😂 I could have left it on normal speed of course, but the video would have been like 6+ hours long,🙄 I could have also split the video up into multiple segments,😕 But the only problem with doing stuff like that, is that nobody watches them all,🙄 They will watch part's of the First video, and the Last few minutes of the last video, and skip everything else in the middle,😕 And since I have to drive 15 minutes into town every time I want to upload a video,🤔 So uploading multiple videos, on multiple days, for a single RC project, all the while knowing that only two of those videos will ever get viewed, Doesn't exactly make those multiple trips, and gallons upon gallons of gas, worth it. 😕
So the video goes from Start to Finish with the Build, but it has been sped up to save on time.😉👍

Forget the Wltoys 10428 and periodically check ebay, or Facebook marketplace, For a Used Vattera Twin Hammer's, Avoid the RTR version of the Twin Hammer's and try to find a Twin Hammer's Kit version, The "kit" version Twin Hammer's included all of the Heavy Duty Part's, and the RTR version did not, But if you can find one the "kit version Twin Hammer's" you'll be all set.😉👍
The Vaterra Twin Hammer's is the real deal, and the Wltoys 10428, is just a cheap clone knockoff.🤔

One of a kind that Trailer hitch is, and I designed it myself,"Patent Pending" 😊 Plus the best part is, that it actually looks like a "Real" Trailer hitch ball, 😁 I mean, How Cool is that ? 😊👍
I came up with the hitch idea around 3+ years ago, and first used it for my Nqd jet boat trailer, which was a 3d printed Trailer that I bought online, it had a solid axle, with no suspension, and a plastic Hitch,😕
I accidentally broke the hitch, towing the trailer off-road, and then I came up with the Cvd style Trailer hitch, and first used it, I also came up with a full leaf spring suspension setup for the trailer as well, with 80mm shocks, then I replaced the trailers small "drift" style tires, for a set of Rc4wd 1.55 mud thrasher's on steel "weighted" beadlock wheels, the weight in the wheels is to not only keep the boat stable while dragging the trailer Off-road, but it also keeps the trailer from floating, after I unload the boat in the water,😊 lol
And I also have two small single axle,leaf sprung, steel off-road trailers, "the cheap $60.00 dollar online Trailer"
I have my Max Flex Cvd style Trailer Hitches, on both of those as well,😊
🤔 And then there's this Trailer;😊 it's even more of a "one of a kind" and that is because the top portion of the hitch, the "Cvd Cup" is actually recessed into the Tung of the trailer, and sits flush, with the bottom of the trailers main frame rails,😁

Alrighty let me try this again; The trailer is a Gigantic, Mickey Moused Rigged pos, Made up from a bunch of different things that I had laying around,🙄
To start off at the beginning; my Brother handed me is Fy06, and asked if there was any way that I could make a trailer out of it,🙄 and I accepted that challenge,😊
But if I had to build another one just like it, I would probably go a different route,🤔 Much Different!
You see the current Trailer is just a bunch of random pieces, that are all held together, with a Crap ton of Pop Rivets,😂 lol 🤔
Not exactly, something that should be produced for the public,😂 definitely something that I wouldn't want my name affiliated with,🙄 lol
What I need to do, is start gathering a list of parts, for a higher quality trailer that I could sell as a kit,🤔
And I would do it much differently than I did with this one, I would use two solid axles, leaf spring suspension, with shocks, 1/2 inch aluminum square tubing, for the frame Rails the Tung of the trailer, and for a flip up gate/loading ramp, Steel mesh for the trailer deck, and the top of the ramp, 1/8th inch tubing for the trailers deck rails, and some cheap LEDs to get it looking right at night,
I would build it, and then take it all back apart, and figure out what all is exactly needed for the project, along with all the measurements, that way I could actually start stamping them out as a quality trailer kit for the RC Community to purchase,😊
Unfortunately this Trailer is not for sale, But you definitely have the wheels turning in my head to make a better one for sales purposes Bruce.😊👍
Can these things take 2.2 tires...are they 12mm hex wheels like crawlers
Attn; A stock wltoys can not handle 2.2 tires, Yes it is a 12mm hex, and so are many 2.2 wheels, But a Stock wltoys 10428 will liquefy the transmission Gear's running 2.2's, 😵
I'm running 1.9's on this one, And it's not anywhere near a stock wltoys 10428, Technically speaking, this 10428 is currently more Vaterra Twin Hammer's then it is wltoys, (Fyi the Vaterra Twin Hammer's is the original hobby grade vehicle that the wltoys 10428 was cloned from)😕 And this Wltoys is almost completely built from Twin Hammer's part's, it's "highly modified" and it's totally capable of handling 2.2's, Hell it can even handle 2.8 Proline sand paw's with a 3500kv brushless motor.😄
But a Stock wltoys 10428 definitely can not,🤔😕
So if you are running a stock 10428, I wouldn't recommend going any larger than 1.9's mounted on a plastic wheel, Because even the extra weight, or rotating mass of a aluminum wheel, may cause premature transmission destruction,😕
And "2.2's" will Definitely Cause Total Transmission Destruction.
And before you ask how to modify your stock wltoys 10428 to this status, Let me tell you that you Can't,😕 Unfortunately for all of the 10428 owner's out there, "Vaterra" is no longer in business,😭 They went completely out of business last year, and they stopped making the Twin Hammer's back in 2012,🤔 Which means that there's no longer any Parts available for it on the market,😕 I mean there is and there isn't,🙄 you can still get some parts for the Twin Hammer's, But you can't get everything that is needed to do what I did to this one,😕 I built two of these things, my first was a 10428a that I built back in 2016, And at that time Vaterra Twin Hammer's part's where available everywhere,🤔 And then I built this one for my brother around June of 2020, And the part's where few and far between,🤔 I actually had one hell of a time trying to get all of the parts that were required to finish the build,🙄 One Hell of a Time... Next to impossible! I was to the point of searching for the remaining items on ebay, and I happened to get lucky and found what I needed to finish the build,🙄 But that was last year, So I would say that it's safe to assume that by now, it's going to be impossible to find everything that's required.
And another Fyi; it wasn't a cheep build, It was very expensive... well over $300.00 us dollars in part's not including the electronics,🙄 All together including the original vehicle price, this vehicle is currently worth around $650.00-$700.00 us dollars with everything that's been installed, not to mention my personal time for building it. 😕 And for that price you can get a very nice Hobby grade RC vehicle,🤔😕
Which is what I ultimately recommend, Unless you can find a used Vaterra Twin Hammer's in complete condition floating around out there.😊👍
Technically speaking, it's always cheeper to purchase the complete vehicle vs trying to build one with part's, The parts will cost you twice as much as the original vehicle price,🙄
And the original vehicles used to sell for around $250.00 in "Kit" form, and around $300.00-$350.00 RTR,🤔 But there's a catch to that,😕 The "Kit" version is better than the RTR version, Because the kit version came with a bunch of Heavy Duty parts that the Ready to Run version did not,🙄 like Heavy Duty steel Gear's in the transmission, Heavy Duty out drive cups on the front differential, Heavy Duty front cvd shafts, and aluminum oil filled shock's, and the RTR version did not,😕 so if you try to find one for sale online, make sure that you find the "kit" version vs the RTR version.😊👍
Note; all of the Vaterra Twin Hammer's part's that I installed on both of my wltoys 10428's, Are the Heavy Duty parts, which are also brushless motor compatible, The "lighter duty part's" are not brushless motor compatible.🙄😕
Long story short; This vehicle is extremely modified and can totally handle 2.2 tires it's darn near bullet proof, But a Stock wltoys 10428 Can Not handle 2.2 tires.😊👍
If you have a stock wltoys 10428, I would recommend that you leave it that way and run it for what it is, "Which is, A entry level RC"
And if you decide that you truly love the hobby, Then I would save up some money and purchase a Hobby grade vehicle on the next go around,😊👍 The 10428's are great little rigs, But ultimately they are considered to be "Toy Grade RC's", and the Vaterra Twin Hammer's is, or was, a "Hobby Grade RC", which is much more durable.😊

Not like skate park basher jumps but if it came off the ground a foot I wouldn't want it to break like my gen 7 pro on 3300 which snapped a link over 8inchs of flight lol and then a rear axle hill climbing the last week ...muddy dirt hill...inner axle rod snapped in half. No more redcats hahaha

Hmm, it would probably be cheaper just to get a entirely new axle vs trying to get the parts to fix the current axle,🤔
Try doing a internet search for "Wltoys USA" if the site is still open you should be able to get a complete rear axle from them.🤔
Other option;
If you're creative, you should be able to easily adapt another RC Axle to it, I ran a "Rc4wd" "Trail Finder two" Rear axle on my wltoys for awhile, But an "Axial Wraith" Rear axle, would probably be a much better fit.😊
You could also try looking for a "Vaterra Twin Hammer's" Rear axle, That would be the closest direct replacement for your Wltoys.
Note; The Wltoys has a large diameter pinion shaft on the rear drive shaft coming from the rear axle, Basically, any replacement axle that's not a direct fit "such as a new wltoys axle"
is probably going to require some modification for adapting the Rear drive shaft.😉👍
I would try Wltoys USA First, if it's not available through them then I would try to find a Complete Vaterra Twin Hammer's Rear axle next,If you get one those make sure that you get a Vaterra Twin Hammer's Rear drive shaft to go along with it,👍
(Since the wltoys has larger pinion shaft's) You can use the Vaterra Twin Hammer's Rear drive shaft to adapt to the wltoys drive shaft,🤔 Basically the drive shafts are the same, with the exception of the pinion shaft diameter,🤔
What you would want to do, is join the two drive shafts together,😕 Leave the wltoys drive shaft coming from the transmission in place, and then connect the Vaterra drive shaft coming from the rear axle to the wltoys drive shaft coming from the transmission,😉👍
"The drive shaft half's should slip together without skipping a beat" and that will solve the different pinion shaft diameter issue.

And that's about the easiest fix for the problem, Otherwise any other Rear Axle, is going to require a lot more custom rigging.🙄
Try Wltoys USA First, if that's a No Go situation, Then try the Vaterra Twin Hammer's Rear axle and drive shaft 😊👍 And if that's a No Go situation, Then I would try a Axial Wraith Rear axle next, Note you will probably need to customize the drive shaft for that to work properly,😕
Axial "Capra" axle, would probably work as well, once again though you will need to customize the drive shaft.👍
Once again, Try Wltoys USA First, and if that doesn't work, The Vaterra Twin Hammer's Axle is the next closest direct replacement.

The wltoys and Vaterra Twin Hammer's Rear axles are Almost identical, "Almost" being the Key word, except the Vaterra axle is much stronger 💪, and it has different size bearings vs the Wltoys axle,
So you might want to pick up a "Fast Eddie's" Twin Hammer's bearing kit while you're at it. 😊👍

I've had this vehicle since 2016, But as far as "durability goes" that's a different story.😕
In stock form these buggies are okay "as a introduction vehicle" and are far better than most Toy Grade RC vehicles.
This vehicle is different, This one is about 99% Vaterra Twin Hammers, and the only parts that are still made by Wltoys are the Shocks,Body, and Main Chassis.
The Wltoys 10428 was a Chinese clone of a Vaterra Twin Hammers, The Twin Hammers was a Hobby Grade RC, and the Wltoys was a Toy Grade RC, which was made with extremely cheap parts compared to the Vaterra, and was prone to front cvd and transmission problems, the Wltoys Transmission was filled with plastic gears, and all of the metal parts like the differentials and cvds, were made from cheap pop metal, and the Vaterra's internal's are all made out of steel "like impact socket steel" it's very strong and extremely reliable.
This vehicle was basically converted into a Vaterra Twin Hammers, and is Rock Solid compared to a normal Wltoys 10428.
Fyi; I do have a couple of videos showing the conversion process, as well as some older videos showing a side by side build comparison with a Vaterra Twin Hammers.
I own Two Wltoys 10428's and One Vaterra Twin Hammers, I bought my Wltoys 10428a first, because I had seen videos on CZcams, that said there was absolutely no difference between the two different vehicles "other than the price" So I bought a Wltoys, and then I started breaking parts under normal driving conditions, So I attempted to order replacement parts from Wltoys USA, and that was literally going to take months for the delivery, so in the meantime I went out and bought a Vaterra Twin Hammers kit from my local hobby shop, (the twin hammers was available in a RTR version and a kit version, and the kit version came with all the Heavy Duty parts.
Then I did a build video on the Twin Hammers, and compared the Wltoys with it at different times throughout the build, And quickly came to the conclusion that these vehicles were definitely not the same,🤔 They look the same on the outside, but they are definitely way different on the inside.😕
The Vaterra is 100% High Quality across the board, and the Wltoys is not.
The conversion process took 32 different Vaterra Twin Hammers part bag's, and cost roughly $300.00 US Dollars for all the required items.🤔 "That's $300.00 dollars above the initial vehicle purchase price"
Now here's the bad news...
Vaterra went out of business in 2019 😞 and those leftover Twin Hammer parts, disappeared fast from hobby store supplies.😕
I converted my Wltoys 10428a into a Twin Hammer's back in 2016, and then I did the conversion on this one back in like 2019 or 2020, and I had one hell of a time trying to find all of the required parts,🤔😕 it was a total nightmare really! I got most of the parts from various online hobby stores, but had to find the last few remaining items on eBay, "and that was like Three years ago" so I'd imagine by now that it would be impossible to attempt this project today.
So to answer your question, This Wltoys is very reliable, darn near bullet proof as far as RC's go, But a standard Wltoys 10428 is a different story, They work beautiful as a intro to RC crawling, but I wouldn't recommend sinking anymore money into it after the initial purchase,🤔 use it for what it is, and if you decide that you like this side of the RC hobby, Go online to a good hobby store such as Amain Hobbies, and get yourself a good Hobby Grade RC after the Wltoys breaks.😉👍
When I initially purchased these vehicles back in 2016, I paid $165.00 for the Wltoys 10428a and $150.00 for the green Wltoys 10428 standard, "And I considered that to be a good deal" these days Wltoys thinks that they're made of gold, and the Wltoys 10428a goes between $350.00 - $450.00, and the Green Wltoys 10428 goes between $250.00 - $350.00
And to put things into perspective the original Vaterra Twin Hammers Kit sold for around $200.00, and the cheaper RTR version went for around $250.00, and both are, or were, a much better quality than the Wltoys version.
If I were to do it all over today, I would avoid the Wltoys all together "because of the insane asking price" and just get a vehicle from a Hobby store instead.😁
The Wltoys were a good deal when they were priced at the $150 area, but they are a total rip off currently, since you can get a good Hobby Grade RC for just a few dollars more, and have absolutely no reliability issues with it.
The Wltoys is still going to break, the price is certainly higher, but the quality is still the same as it was originally.😕
Morale of the story... the Wltoys is a Cool looking buggy, but your much better off with a Hobby Grade RC instead.😁👍

@@R.C.A.D. thanks for the ride. Now that's something I will learn from your history on this WL rig. I was actually looking for a high speed crawler, but not too fast. Something with a 2speed that can still bounce on rocks. The TRX4 is a great all-round unit but I just adore the jumps from a 10428 or 12428. Something like the Axial Ryft. My first rc (at adult age 😅) was the 12428. And it's still around. Not very well designed but tough enough for frequent short power burst and definitely jumps here and there. I don't really have any complainta on it but one can't ask for precision on a toyish rc. I was hoping to hear the 10428 was of even better in everything. So I guess no then. What model would you recommend for a substitute similar to the 10428? I do have some trails and crawlers but wish they could bullet like the vaterra or WL. Your advice please...

As far as a good vehicle for what you're looking for;🤔
I would recommend a Axial RBX10 Ryft or something else along those lines like a Axial Capra, or possibly a Element Enduro Gatekeeper, "The Element Endure Gatekeeper, would be cheaper in overall cost, but is probably the closest to a Twin Hammer's style chassis.
Otherwise maybe the RC4wd Miller Motorsports Pro Rock Racer, or a Team Losi Lasernut U4, "which is kinda similar to a twin hammers" and also a sister company with what was once Vaterra,😕 or you could get Team Losi Hammer Rey U4 Rock Racer Truck, or a Gmade R1 Rock Buggy, which is similar to a Ryft, or a Redcat Wendigo Rock Racer.
It all depends on what you're looking for really, I'm sure that there all pretty solid, The Losi vehicles are probably the closest to the Vaterra Twin Hammer's, but the Axial Ryft and the RC4wd Miller Motorsports truck catch my eye a little more.
Once again "it's all in what you're personally looking for, and the above mentioned vehicles are probably the best made at the moment.😁👍
Side note; I've got a older Axial Bomber Rock Racer "Rolling Chassis" sitting here, that's just waiting to get built into the same thing that you're looking for.😂 lol
