To this date, this is my favorite RC car to play with. It's tough, fast, and handles nicely on a slippery surface. It's not a speed demon nor a real rock crawler, but just a good do-it-all. Especially for the price! I've had mine for a year or two, and with decent bashing, I've only broken the front headlights (they won't turn on). Not sure how people break their's, because I've ran mine head-on full speed at a brick wall, and it shrugged it off LOL.

Got one a week ago 1-12 and it’s great especially for its bashing it can take
My 4 year old can be left alone with it and no sweats however the plastic rear drive shaft broke so I’m replacing with metal
I gave it to my daughter and she loves it, great car to learn how to drive 😊

It's a pretty small group that is interested in RC videos on CZcams, so most channels stay relatively small, even if the content is excellent. I'm sure you've noticed that a high percentage of people who comment on your videos have "RC" somewhere in their user / channel name.
That's true I did notice that, its mostly people who have channels
I don't have an "RC" in my name but I have it stamped in my heart, it's one of my favorite things in life and I'm addicted to them .
cool vid! The car is a good allround basher/crawler/whatever for beginners but as soon as you start modifieing it you get one proplem after the other. I would recomend it for people who are new to the hobby but it is not made for people who whant to modifiy it. The screws are horrible! They brake sooooooo fast. But it is a fun basher for begginers. The biggest weak spots are the steering, rear driveshaft and the screws.
I agree its a great beginner car or just to have fun. 👍
Yeah, I think I damaged the rear drive shaft, or maybe the differential, on mine. Still runs, but not as well, keep meaning to tear it apart and see if I can see what's up with it. (I am most definitely in the realm of 'beginner just wanting something to bash around the yard' :))

I got the 104009 as my first RC in a long time. Really liked it. Took it bashing, I guess a little too much. Chassis snapped, center rod fell out.
I'm thinking for my skills and time, it's not worth fixing. Does thing thing take a better beating? I believe the metal arms VS plastic Chassis is a weak point on the 104009.
I have also recently got the 12416 which is stupidly quick. Looking for a car for my little boy, perhaps this one is the go.
A main consideration would be if it fits the same 2s 2600s that suit the 104009 and 12416.

looks pretty good - we weren't super impressed with HBX truck like this...
They look similar, i think the plastic on this one is a little thicker
I have this car and it needs metal diffs metal front a arms and a different rear drive shaft and that's about it and it's a blast I love driving it my ESC and steering servo went out so I made it brushless and it's a beast but a fun RC yea I find these more fun to play with sometimes cuz ur not worried so much
I agree with little bit of upgrades this car is awesome, I love how flexible and forgiven the plastic is 😊
@@FivoNine yea it's flexible and also just wanted to say I wouldn't advise putting metal a arms on most things but the plastic ones are so thin there gonna snap sooner than later and there's metal hinge pin braces so there not going to rip out of a plastic chassis

That low setting is definitely a granny gear compared to that high setting cuz that's more like fourth gear there's a guy on here I wish I could share his video with you he's got one and he is absolutely decked out like nothing I've ever seen you may have already noticed it but I want to get one soon everybody's saying good things about them thanks for the review

I had one of these and it broke within a year. Not just a minor break, we had to rebuild the rear axle and some other important parts.

The 12428 is slower and flips really easy, the 124019 is more stable and good for a small track

I am not sure, I believe if you buy the remote and it comes with reciever then it should work, otherwise you will have to buy the original remote

12427 is the a newer version of the 12428. The only differences I have been able to find are the 12427 has metal gear differential instead of plastic like the 12428.

They are the same. Exactly the same. On some websites it is called 12428 and on some 12427.
I bought one of these and figured it wouldn't last long because the bashing style of driving my kids and I do but after 3 years we still have it. It doesn't look the same but it's mostly all still original. We bought a Redcat Everest because I have always heard Redcat was a goog choice. Well it was let's just say way more money then this one and it lasted only 1 day. Go figure.
Same here, I let my kids drive it and its still running strong, I think it being so flexible helps a lot when they crash it 😁

They claim it can do roughly 31 mph but realistically they usually hit about 21-25 mph stock but if you run a lipo in it the car is definitely a bit faster. I love this car I've had quite a few of them now haha got a bunch of spare parts and controllers from having so many lol but these cars take an absolute beating. Nice vid bro keep on keeping on 👍

Casi nadie dice estas cosas sobre este modelo pero yo las dire: 1) Es mas un juguete que un carro de Hobbie no tiene resistencia al agua si lo mojas lo dañas. 2) El servo de la direccion es lo primero que se daña junto con el cardan de la transmision trasera recomiendo cambiar esas partes por la pieza metalica. 3) Existe una gran variedad de partes para cambiarselas hechas de aluminio se le puede gastar hasta tres veces mas del costo original del auto pero recomiendo que no lo hagas es una trampa de los chinos terminaras gastando 300 dolares en un auto que no es profesional mejor dejalo como viene es un carro gama de entrada al mundo de radio control o mejor ahorra y comprate una marca mejor.

Eso se debe a que son juguetes su bajo precio lo indica si se les da un uso moderado pueden durar un año pero si se les usa pesado como si fueran Traxxas o se lanzan de lugares altos es logico que se rompera relacion calidad precio muy buena pero si se busca resistencia existen otras marcas como HPI-PRO, ARMA, TRAXXAS, ORIZON, X-RAY, KYOSHO, SAKURA. Pero valen 6 veces mas.
