A neat idea for a Skoal bandit throwback would be in place if the bandit logo have the driver's face wearing a hat and bandana. I think that would be pretty funny

I don't see the Target paint schemes ever getting a throwback since it's gonna look off without the big spot plastered all over the car. The only exception might be the ones with the lightning bolt on the side when JPM drove the 42.
Being a Bill Elliott fan, one of my favorite promo schemes was his Batman Forever Thunderbat.
Couldn't future tributes to the Skoal Bandit just use a bandit? Like "This is a completely different bandit, it's only tangentially related to Skoal at best."

It was at Darlington two years ago.
So no tabacco ads but we can get a big pharma commercial every other ad. It’s not like there is a huge opioid crisis happening in the US. There’s a reason we are the only country that allows them.
I do hope seeing a Pepsi car at some point though. I just imagine that flow between blue and red on the paint scheme, like make it half-red, half-blue or black with that oversized logo and so on, red door, blue rear... I honestly would have loved such a paint scheme. That's why in my roleplaying stories sometimes a Ford appears with it, usually the 17.
An easy one would any sponsor that no longer exists, like piedmont airlines or circuit city or Kmart and so forth.
My dad and I have a couple vintage cars. We had the opportunity to put them on display bat Martinsville before the race. But one car is a Wayne Patterson Pabst Blue Ribbon late model. NASCAR told us we would behave to cover up the logo, which is the entire hood. The other car started life as a Levi Garrett car but is currently painted black and gold which is the way we bought it from an independent driver. Now I wonder if we'll have issues when we repaint it back to Levi Garrett colors...
Not only did batman vs super man collaborate with nascar by having two drivers sponsored by the movie each representing a specific character in 2016, but this also happened in 2009 with nascar and transformers with Ryan Newman carrying Optimus Prime's livery and Jeff Gordon carrying Megatron's livery to promote the release of transformers revenge of the fallen on DVD. Way after that paramount and Michael Bay were working on transformers dark of the moon and in the film we got to see the wreckers (Roadbuster, Topspin, and Leadfoot) carrying nascar paint schemes on them resembling Jimmie Johnson, Dale Jr, and Joan Pablo Montoya.
Skoal left Nascar after the 99 season.
Any of Sterlin Marlin or Bill Elliot Coors' cars would be tough. As would the whiskey cars, Crown Royal, Jim Beam, or Jack Daniels.
I would also love to see a throwback to the AMC red/white/blue cars.
The black/gold 1990 Texaco/Havoline paint scheme will never return..... Nor will Dale Jarrett's Quality Care paint scheme.... or the Family Channel paint scheme..... Or Rick Mast's Black/white Skoal paint scheme or Bobby Allison's Gold/White Miller High Life paint scheme
Joey gase ran a pretty similar scheme to Havoline in 2021 at Talladega. The only thing missing from it were the Havoline logos

Jeff Gordon’s Pepsi Phantom Menace would’ve been perfect for this Kansas race being May 4 weekend but the 25th anniversary. I understand Pepsi wouldn’t be on the car, but stilllll perfect timing and the only time for a callback.

One that would probably be added is Jimmie Johnsons 9/11 Fallen Heros Lowes car. I don't think anyone would have the heart and soul to throw it back to such a tragic day
I'll play devil's advocate for one of these. If a movie is well-remembered (Dark Knight, Talladega Nights) I could totally see teams running them again with flipped sponsorship, much like the RCR and LMC entries.
We did have Mountain Dew sponsor aj allmendinger at Bristol but that was a partnership with food city

@@BornIn1500 so why ban tobacco then?. Both alcohol and tobacco are regulated by the ATF, both are poison, so why is one acceptable and the other not. I don't like either but I don't infringe on rights of others which is what the ad ban does. Just because something is advertised, doesn't force adults or children to partake. I used to use both and don't use either now. When I see an ad for either on a billboard, I don't think dang id love to have a smoke and a drink right now.. Just like an Arby's commercial doesn't make me crave roast beef sammiches.

Not many do anymore due to various financial crises over the past ~15 years, but Fifth Third is still with Chris Buescher and Poppy Bank occasionally sponsors Daniel Hemric.
