- Hi folks, Firstly if you're new here sorry I didn't play any Reverend Horton Heat Riffs! Im all about exploring different guitars that are outside of my 'comfort zone' and being lent this guitar has opened me up to that world of music and left me wanting more! Surely thats what having multiple guitars is about anyways right?!

Hope you enjoyed the video folks, in the next one were looking at another Eastman in my quest to get on their radar so they send me an SB56n to check out haha!
Also, I finally have fresh stock coming in and some pretty cool stuff so keep an eye on secondnote.co.uk over the coming week. They'll find their way onto CZcams too for sure.
Awesome guitar
Awesome vid, just subbed , cheers from New Zealand
Thanks appreciated
I had a 2004. The pickups sound exactly like the current TV Jones Classics. They seem to be an early Classic that was using the classic Gretsch cover for a while. Amazing guitar!
this guitar totally opened my eyes to Gretsch - made an impression I won't forget for sure
You've touched on something pretty big. That a good guitar inspires you to play differently then you would normally play. The 6120 is an unrealized tone monster!
After hearing Jim Heath in an interview, he talked about his first one in 1990. He bought it quickly because his vintage Gibson was acting up. I bought the same 1990 because it was an anomaly. It is a reissue of a guitar that never existed. It has 1950s controls with 1959 pickups. Essentially it has filtertrons and a tone knob instead of tone switch. I love that thing!!!
What got me most i think is how easy it was to play. It should feel totally alien to me, massive body, bigsby etc yet it wasnt a struggle or weird at all.
Agreed. They looked dumb to me for years until I tried one.
I know exactly what you mean, different guitars inspire different music and take you places you never thought you’d go.
If that Gretsch beauty was in my hands I’d feel compelled to try and play the Santo and Johnny classic Sleepwalk. Give it a go 😊
Ill give it ago before it goes back 😁
Have you compared this to the Setzer "Smoke"?
I haven't sadly
Can you describe the neck contour? I’ve heard it’s a Vneck?
I wouldnt of said it was a V neck tbf. Just feels like a 60s type C. Not overly big and not V feeling
I like a lot their pickups, however the ergonomics of the big G boxes isn't everyone's cup of tea...
True, trouble is alot of people would write off a guitar without trying it based on size, weird switches, bigsby etc because they think they know it wouldn’t be for them. This was me before trying this one and found it to be totally surprising in every way. Just goes to show, you gotta try stuff, lots of stuff haha.
1 day, just one day I’ll get a Gretsch like that…
Great video and playing!
One day so will I haha. Definitely a different bit of inspiration to me usual guitars!
Thanks man🤟
It plays itself? I need that.
haha Damn Buzzwords creep in on you
What riff is that again?
the one at the start?
