- Rupert discusses how urgent call from a broadcast company to develop a new compressor in 3-4 weeks led to creation of the orginal 22 series diode bridge compressors (2252, 2253, 2254) in the front room the Neve house in Little Shelford.

This is a true entrepreneur speaking. Gets faced with a problem, rolls up his sleeves and gets to work to produce something that still gets used decades later. I truly have a lot of respect for people like Mr. Neve, this is very inspiring!
"Hey can you reinvent the compressor in two weeks?
"Rupe - "Yeh!"
...was a good deal more than my competitor was getting.
This man was so brilliant. Even when he’s being humble.
UN ABRAZO SEÑOR RUPER, LO RECUERDO MUCHO. FUE UN PLACER IR A CENAR CON USTED Y SU ESPOSA , EN UNA DE SUS VISITAS A MEXICO , LE MANDO UN ABRAZO CON MUCHO CARIÑO GRACIAS MUCHAS GRACIAS, POR DARME ESE HONOR, Y CONTARME ALGUNAS DE SUS VIVENCIAS!!!
I admire the genius of Rupert Neve, may he rest in peace. It´s a shame I only discovered his work now that he´s gone. Great to hear the man speaking, a good way to deepen the memories. Oh, and whoever put "Bride (!) Compressor" in the title slide owes everyone at Neve a pint. Weekly. If those are available in the US, that is. 😉
Legend.

May God bless the humble human extraordinaire Mr. Rupert Neve!!!
Thank You Sir Rupert for inspiring me to strive for the highest of excellence in life.
Thank you for sharing this very interesting interviews.
I really love this man
I have a pair of these and they are outstanding on everything, thank you Rupert Neve
Love the insight
I can’t wait to add a Rupert Neve 5254 to my RND collection someday. Sounds to big and open and yet so thick and warm
5254? Not 2254?
Well the 2254 is not easy to find and has more noise due to older components. The 5254 is much more refined and brought up to date and has much less noise.
Audio Legend 🙇
Rest In Peace. The Godfather of gain 😢
Legend !
Anyone know how these Shelford interviews were recorded? Such clarity!
It's the RN-17 mic right on the table into a 5012, with the buss output feeding a nikon d800 3.5mm stereo input (a pretty terrible converter in the scheme of things, but the mic and pre make a big difference)
king ❤
Genius
We‘ll miss you.Good bye!
This is way better than porn... Living Legend...
So my CBS Volumax uses a diode, I've read. Is it not a diode bridge though? 'Cause there's a lot of distortion happening on it.
what is a 'diode BRIDE compressor';)?
