Thanks Adam. I liked the way the diode bridge and transformer emulation look to be on separate daughterboards on the CP554. Reuse of the main design. You always do this to me don't you Golden Ears. I could hear the difference between compression on/off but not much between each type (until the loud vocal part). Damn my ears! 😆

I've got a handful of the Heritage Audio Successors and their HA-609, which are pretty fantastic. I've got a Neve, but it's never been turned on as it's in need of repair.
why a handful of them?
@@chinmeysway I like to use them on multiple bus groups at the same time so I need more than one singular hardware unit to do that. I also have more than one studio, and they're equipped with the same gear more or less.
what about vari-mu and pulse width modulation compressors?
Very different things, I think Vari-mus are making a comeback but I don’t have one to hand. Are there any well known PWM
Compressors beside the distressor?
@@adamsteelproducer the only one that comes to mind is the PYE but those are of course rare and expensive

Maybe there's no many of them because the circuit and diode match is difficult to set properlly
Can’t be that hard, especially with modern components
@@adamsteelproducer they're many crucial components that suppliers won't match for you and must to have exact values to work as expected. It's not for production issues but how the circuit works :(
What are your favorite compressors? Would you consider giving a Diode bridge a try?
do you think for mastering is necessary that Side chain or HPF that have some more new compresor so it don't react so much to low frequencies. or no. or just a slow attack can do the trick ?????

Am I the only one that doesn't hear a difference between No Compression and Compression? That singing is AWFUL.
