As a Texas fan, congrats to Burrow. We’ve seen Kyler, Baker, Goff, Mahomes, and quite a few other NFL QBs the last few years and none of them picked our defense apart as much as he did. He opened a lot of eyes. Seems like he understands the trash talking is all in good fun and he definitely earned the right to do some trolling to our fans. Hopefully we get y’all back next year in the valley.
I beg to differ. Baker In 2016 hung 45 points on your defense. Same as Joe Burrow. Kyler did the same thing by himself in the first matchup. And unlike LSU he climbed back from a 45-24 deficit. He also hung 300+ yards on your defense the second time. Joe Burrow is one of the two amazing pocket passers in the league. The only other good pocket passers is Jake Fromm. With the schedule Texas has faced, your defense struggled and struggled to get back into the game, and by the time you did, it was 45-38 with 0:00 seconds left. You'll do way better Against Oklahoma with your Defensive scheme this year, but that's only if you can keep your corners on Oklahoma's beast WR line. Ceedee lamb, Charleston Rambo, AD Miller, Lee Morris, Theo Wease, Trejan Bridges, Jadon Haselwood. There's even more but those are the most dangerous on the team. Plus you gotta stop Trey Sermon, Kennedy Brooks and Rhomandre Stevenson. Plus Jalen Hurts, Tanner Mordecai, and Spencer Rattler, and did anyone mention that Oklahoma has a somewhat relevant defense? This year might be your year, but you're team is gonna have to fight every yard for it
Doom 2000 In 2016 Baker threw 2 picks and played against a much worse secondary than we have now. Dede Westbrook got by the corners time after time with just simple double moves. Burrow got 3 of his guys over 100 yards. Baker also had Perine who ran for over 200 yards himself. LSU had very little going in the run game. Kyler had 1 good quarter against Texas in the 48-45 game. It wasn’t near a complete enough performance for me to say it was better than what Burrow did Saturday.
