- This is some great footage of the one and only Bob Chandler, driving the BIGFOOT Fastrax in Madison, IL, at an area where we used to test vehicles.
Check out BIGFOOT at bigfoot4x4inc/ or at bigfoot4x4.com - Auta a dopravní prostředky
More Fastrax footage! I've spent too much of my life trying to find footage of this thing - including 56k days - and it's too cool to finally see some GOOD STUFF
I wish we could see Bigfoot and Fastrax back in action again. They were my "hero's/idols" growing up. Bob Chandler was the coolest. Kids nowadays have NO idea what they're missing or what REAL monster trucks were all about.
I would love to see Bigfoot Fastrax and Orange Blossom Special doing a legends tour. That would be the coolest show ever. And a real show worth paying to see....
I have a picture in Bigfoot with Bob Chandler
This thing is so awesome
I remeber watching this as a kid
Loved fastrax as a kid
I did too probably my favorite.
Spent so much of my childhood watching videos of this and the og bigfoot.. Some serious nostalgic shit 🤣
same :(
The 80s was the most coolest decades ever.
I miss these, I remember a couple others started to pop up then they all just disappeared...Would be a great time for these to make a comeback. Motorsports in general is in desperate need of something fresh and exciting.
I suspect long term maintenance was a REAL problem with these, most of them being based on tank chassis that were WELL out of date by that point. And, unfortunately, I don't think NAPA carries many Sherman tank chassis components, lol.
Same reason tractor pulling and land speed racing is made up almost entirely of conventional automotive engines, at least where specific engine-based classes(the various farm tractor-based classes that require tractor engines) aren't the rule. What's left of Allison V12 parts all go to the vintage aircraft owners first(who have the coin to pay what's necessary for them), then the handful of boat racers and unlimited pulling tractors still running them gets what little is left over, but they've been dried up in land speed racing for probably 2 decades now, probably even longer(they were pretty ideal for land speed racing - one of the few motorsports where weight ISN'T a detriment, and gigantic horsepower is a requirement). Not just Allisons though, but a whole heap of vintage WWII-Vietnam era aviation & tank power plants - they only made so many of them; and almost all of those were left on a completely different continent an entire ocean away, only NOS parts on the shelves left for a limited supply. Even then though, those NOS parts were mostly maintenance parts; god forbid you need a cylinder head, block, intake, those expensive, complex components that aren't maintenance items but do eventually suffer the occasional failure.
The tanks were damaging arenas and injuring drivers constantly. Not safe and difficult to maintain and hall across the country. You'll never see these again.
Thank you for all these videos. Been a fan since Take This Job and Shove It. Keep em coming.
So many Fords in one field. So awesome!
I thought the same. I wonder what happened to that huge white truck in the back. Bigfoot Inc. still owns it?
@@fernandochaves9665no I don’t think they do I think all of there semi r Volvos now
Loooooove those blowers out the roof...... My lord. Attitude for days.
Awesome! Thank you for sharing this!
WOW !!! great video footage..loved it...nice 1 :-)
Ah yes, good ole' Fastrax back when it had the Econoline shell on it. Always wondered why they changed to the Aerostar shell, even though Iike the looks of both.
On those two big jumps, i got three words for you. "Oh my back!", that jump looked like it hurt
My neck! My back! My neck _and_ my back!
Looks like Gateway International Raceway, as I can see the scoreboards in the background.
My favorite bigfoot, bigfoot fastrax
The best Bigfoot ever. I always wondered how the drivetrain worked. Did the two engines feed into one transmission?
I always thought it was one engine for each track.
Teacher: okay class describe something that’s violently American
Me:
As a kid, when dad said monster jam was on, i was right there, but i saw Bigfoot, i was like yall in trouble now, lol, only kidding but my expedition woulda pulled those cars out without a problem, but Bigfoot is always my favorite, but i still love Blue thunder, Max-d and Gravedigger are over rated, bob chandler used Ford engines, not this chevy or dodge crap, he stuck true to the name, i wanna meet bob chandler and shake his hand.
Only Ford engines in Ford vehicles, I agree.
I remember seeing this on TV as a kid in the 90s
still pretty badass til this day they need to bring back bigfoot and its variations
Damn it Sam Raimi! We get it! You love your Oldsmobile. You don't need to put your car on everything you direct.
I was just thinking that 😂😂
Someone needs to build one of these with two engines in tribute lol!
I always like Fasttrax with that Ford Econoline body instead of the Aerostar body . It just looked cooler 👍🏻
sb4pro Same here, like that paintjob over the McDonald's red and yellow stripes too.
@@OSDCrusher I think he was being sarcastic. lol.
I also preferred the Econoline body.
Wonder what happened to it?
I fella could be happy with that little Bronco II today. ;)
I spy Bigfoot 8 in the back. Keep the old videos coming!
I noticed that as well, I remember parts of this and the spy shot in the Bigfoot Strikes Again (I Think) VHS 📼 video.
I have always liked Fastrax, and I wish GTA V would have something like that in the game!
Awesome
Would really love for you guys to get the old girl running again instead of just sitting there
morphman21 I read in an earlier comment they sold it before moving locations. :(
When the team moved to the new shop in Pacific, Fastrax didn't go with them. They sold the tank to a friend of the Foot team, who is taking good care of it.
When did you guys switch out the steering wheel for the levers? I heard that happened and the wheel set up was goofy so you took it out.
Is that Gateway Motorsports Park before the oval was built?
If only they would have had a vehicle on hand big enough to drag those crushed cars out of there.....🤔
Jt7166 exactly what I was thinking!!
And why would they remove the crushed cars?
Nobody talks about the tracked trucks.
Why don't they use this monster tank in shows any more?
I wonder if any fast trax tanks not just Bigfoot are still being used in competitions.
Is that gateway raceway with the old stages nightclub in the background?
can you guys bring the fast traxx to whitley county 4h fair in indiana sometime soon?
That B2 though, thats impressive haha
This is awesome, I see Ken and Dan D. I see why you didn't let Bob drive the trucks a lot. LOL
This is my favorite version with the full sized Econoline body.
Anyone know if that body was fiberglass or steel?
Living in the rust belt and liking old Ford vans I would be intrested in a fiberglass body.
I wonder if it was Ford's idea to change it to an Aerostar?
The Aerostars were good vans, used one at a workplace but I like the full sized vans better.
I've always wanted a kyosho blizzard with the van body so I could have my own rc Fastrax!
TheStuffz
Kyosho still makes the Blizzard FR and TBG reproduces the Kyosho Heavy Metal van body.
I think that I might have to order up both-- And make my own mini replica
lol, i actually have one..just need to paint the spare body bigfoot blue.
TheStuffz I had one yrs ago, issues is it's kinda slow. I modded with bearings esc & hotter motor but then it keeps throwing it's tracks. + it dosen't have the suspn. travel of a real tank.
I still have my tyco fast traxx laying around some where. I used the heck out of that thing when I was younger
I love you all get to see y'all next Saturday Bigfoot
Holy b2 at end!!!
I want to drive it to hooters on Wednesday, all u can eat.
And drink sum beerr!
Awesome
COOL
Is that Ken Koelling at 7:47?
Everyone thinks ripsaw is awesome, got a feeling Bob is not impressed.
Ripsaw is fast AF and totally custom, this is LEGIT OG though.
Had to make sure the previous owner built it right! Was running good with those Chevies swapped out!
It has Chevy’s back in it now with they owner who has it now but it still has the ford grill on it
its too bad that bigfoot sold fastrax. I know it basically sat outside their old shop in st.louis for years. I cant help but think they should of cleaned it up and started bringing out to shows. Imagine a 2018 bigfoot open house down in pacific missouri with fastrax running rampant out in the field. what could of been.
Im suprised the BroncoII axles took that much slamming. For a 7.5" and Dana 28
Bob Chandler's personal vehicle. Do you really think it is stock?
whats the license plate say?
Needs a blown alcohol monster motor, about 8" to 12" lift, lager rollers, rc suspension, a 40mm fully auto artillery piece with an 8 to 12 shot quick load or a decahedren pod gun turret with two Vulcan cannons or a quad array of standard gatling, quickfire opt. Super cooled special anhydrous gasohol like top alcohol and separately catalyzed and injected inverted water to be split into additional oxidizer and hydrogen fuel as both treatment for fuel temperature charge.
Be awesome 2 C this run again this year 2018
What ever happened to the Ford transit monster van sky high not seen in years does any one know????
I need that..
I’d love to know his top speed. Looked like he was movin pretty good
Could easily reach 60-70mph or faster depending on whatever gearing setup they run on those things.

What a legend ?
I wish Chandler made a Ford. He builds engines that are Godly.
With two 460s on your back, you feel like God.
Lol those cars sure are wrecked!
Anybody on here know Who drove and owned the original Trak Attak! I remember it from the 80s. It had real tank tracks, not rubber. Was at alot of pulling shows. ???????
Gearhead 6971 Ernie brooking I think his name was he raced fastraxs
They could have used fast track to move them cars. Just saying. That would have been cool.
Bet landings hurt in this thing
Vou fazer um quase igual
I wish Bigfoot would buy this back from Chandler Lloyd
Who they sold it to it is still on race junk for sale I luved this one and the ranger
No firewall!!! That’s when men were men.
l loved the LTL motorhome in the background, sexy!
That’s when star trek came out with robin woods ahh yes my uncle drove Star Trek
If that thing had a little more umph and it was a tank I bet the joke would be if you could catch it in time!
I've always thought this was the best tank because it's actually got suspension
a456987 bigfoot fastrax. Trax attack. Equlaizer tank was the only tanks that had suspenion
I believe not a lot of people know that Mike vater's owner of Black Stallion had a monster tank called battle cat but I might be wrong correct me if I'm wrong.
I have always been a fan of bigfoot monster truck. But not this thing. Its like a tank with a van body. I mean a skidder with a truck body will crush cars too.
Bronco 2 seems to be very underpowered
3:05 thank me later...
I had one of those 84. Ford broncos " it was , I mean was a great vehicle till I killed it off roading😮I sure miss it😂👊🏌️
