NGL, since you already did the prequels already, I was hoping that you would catch on that C-3PO (The gold one) and R2-D2 (The blue and white robot) are two entirely different types of droid characters by now.
What gets me the most in this is Anakin's last request. He only wanted his daughter to know there was good in him before the end.

Leia doesn't forgive him from what I know. Not to mention her mere biological connection to Vader made her lose all political chances. I really hope they delve into that story of Leia and how she deals with learning about Anakin/Vader and if/what happens when he appears to her

Darth Vader needed the suit to live (you will understand it more with the prequels), and without the suit only his rage and anger could keep him alive. When he came back to the light, with the suit circuits broken by dark force lightnings, there wasn´t chance to survive.

@@DevinGtv901 Not exactly. The suit essentially breathed for him, which was the deep breaths he always made. If it had not been damaged by the Emperor's lightning, he would have been fine. The Dark Side allowed him to sustain himself even without the suit functioning properly through sheer willpower, so he could live with either 1, but having lost both he couldn't survive. Removing the helmet caused him to die faster.
Also, the Emperor deliberately designed his suit to be vulnerable to Force lightning, which is why it was so vulnerable to it.
One thing I loved that many somehow over look was that Darth Vader showed how truly powerful he was by single-handedly picking up the Emperor and throwing him like a damn football AFTER his hand had been lopped off. Talk about a show of strength.

@@DevinGtv901 Canonically, he was holding back. Vader was conflicted at this point just as Luke sensed, and so wasn't putting his all into the fight. He was holding back in the previous movie as well because he didn't want to kill Luke, so we never really see him go all out in the original trilogy. There's a very good chance Vader would have won if he was going all out against Luke and wasn't conflicted. The Emperor would have disposed of Vader a long time ago if he ever found anyone who was more powerful, but there simply was no one who even had the potential to surpass Vader until Luke came along. Vader is on a whole other level from 99% of Jedi and even every Dark Side user besides the Emperor.
@Devin it pleases me you fell in love with a franchise we all love. Yes paying attention is key and I am sure the maturity helps. When you go watch the prequels remember to watch 1,2 and 3 in order. Then watch rogue one which happens between 3 and 4 (new hope), If you still like Star Wars I would recommend the 6 part Obiwon series and The Mandalorian. Looking forward to all the movies yet to come in all genre's. Have a great week with friends and family Devin. Oh and the Animated series The Clone Wars which was a animated series lasted 5 or 6 years it was also amazing and tells stories the movies do not cover between 1,2 and 3

@@DevinGtv901ofc it is. George lucas said movies from 1~6 are cannon and so as Clone wars. My recommendation is to watch clone wars after six movies and rogue one.
Fantastic reaction❤😊These were and still are the grandfather of all sci films. I remember when I saw the Empire Strikes back and was devastated when they froze my boy Han in carbonite. 1;2&3are not bad and add a whole new dimension to the Star Wars universe.

The title of this movie, Return of the Jedi means Anakin's Redemption. It's not about Luke, it's about Anakin returning to his old self in the end.

I always think that when Liea says she knows it’s because she had feelings for Luke that she could not 100% pinpoint. When Luke told her she was his brother, all her feelings about Luke made sense to her, like finding the missing piece to a puzzle.
Not the same one. This is a new Death Star under construction. The first one was blown to smithereenies. And now you know why Leia was such a a badass. The Force was with her too. Leia just meant she felt a certain connection to Luke, but hadn't really understood why. Time for the prequels.
Did Leia feel the force because of her bloodline?
@@DevinGtv901 It did help her. It appears she was intuitive and had great leadership abilities. While she was not aware of it til Luke told her, it then made sense. So, she felt it in the sense that it helped guide her actions, but she wasn't aware of it til later. One good example was her mental strength. Remember how she was able to resist the mind probe in episode IV? The Force was with her.
I loved the reaction, was good to see you get so hype over this. I'm a sucker for a redemption arc and Vader definitely filled the bill. Can't wait to see your reaction to eps 1-3!

the title "return of the jedi" doesnt refer to the jedi as a whole, but to the return of anerkin skywalker to the good side.
I grew up watching 4, 5 and 6 in the 80s and 90s. I watched that trilogy hundreds of times as a kid. Episode 6 was always my favorite, as I was always drawn to the unassuming power of the Emperor, and always wanted to know what more he was capable of as the master of the dark side.
"There's no other Jedi left besides luke"
*The entire expanded universe fanbase:* Allow us to introduce ourselves! :D
So, at this point in the timeline, there are a few other Jedi scattered around throughout the galaxy, but their number are still very few. The most prominent one being Ahsoka Tano - Anakins former padwan (apprentice). She survived order66 and fought with the Rebellion for a time. At this point in the timeline she is searching for Another Jedi, a friend of her's called Ezra Bridger who is lost somewhere out there. To cut a very long story very short, the ship he was on was pulled through hyperspace to... Somewhere. Nobody knows where, and on that ship with him was Grand Admiral Thrawn - The third in the line of succession for the Imperial Throne after the Palpatine and Vader and not a man to be underestimated.
There is Also Cal Kestis, though his story is still being written, but he is another order 66 survivor who managed to go into hiding.
Then you have Quinlan Vos, a Jedi master who we know is still alive, but little more than that.
You also Have Rahm Kota, another Jedi master, in canon, all we know is that he is alive, but in Legends (The timeline that existed BEFORE disney took overthe franchise) he was actually founder of the Rebel alliance and fought alongside them from the start. During the clone wars he felt clone soldiers were ineffective for the job, so he trained and led his own personal militia. When order 66 came down there were no clones in squad so he survived it.
We have also been re-introduced to Asajj ventress. A jedi who fell to the dark side and fought against the republic during the clone wars as a sith assassin. Later she was later redeemed through her love for Quinlan Vos. Many of us believed her dead until about a month ago when it was confirmed she was still alive and working as a bounty hunter.
Then we have the wookie Jedi Gungi who was confirmed to have survived order 66. He is with his people somewhere on Kashyyykk. But it is unknown if he is still alive at this point int he timeline.
And finally to the best of my knowledge (though I may be wrong on this front) We have Master Ku'kruk and his small team of Jedi younglings he managed to rescue. The fled after order 66 and ended up settling down on a remote planet. An imperial officer found them there, but this officer served with Ku'kruk during the clone wars and was loyal to him, he told Ku'kruk they had no idea what happened during the clone wars and that order 66 bypassed the chain of command. by the time the non clone officers realised what was going on there was nothing they could do.
The officer then offers to come by once a year with supplies and equipment that he buys with his own salary as an imperial officer and ends up keeping the empire off his back. Ku'kruk and the younglings he saved ended up surviving, hidden away, until the fall of the Empire.

ROTJ is THE best. I am a jedi like my father before me. FKN chills man every time. Second favorite is rogue one.

Honestly I felt the same way. I just checked out the series at 21 this summer. I thought all the movies were legit, to the point where I finished the series (All 9) in like 10 days. If you like it now, ignore the haters and keep checking them out!

Great reaction as always and yes leia is force sensitive when Vader was interrogated her in a new hope he was using the force to pier in to her mind and got a lot of resistance.

Heres my question. When vader blocked lukes strike from hitting the emperor, was he protecting the emperor from dying or protecting luke from turning to the dark side?

Ewoks are cute af, but I'd rather hug Chewbacca (granted he's in a good mood). I also can't help but cheer when Leia chokes out Jabba with that chain.
Side notes:
1. The creature that killed that Twi'lek (green woman with tentacles/tails on her head) slave and almost kills Luke inside that pit in Jabba's palace is called a rancor.
2. The scene at the Sarlacc pit was shot in my home state of Arizona in the middle of the Yuma desert, while the scenes on the forest moon of Endor were shot in the Redwood Forest of California.

@DevinGtv901 yeah, on youtube , starwars theory speant somewhere like 20,000 or so to make a 10 minute long video as a part 1.
He asked for permission before doing so, because he didn't want it taken down.
They said he could make the film, but could not monetize it.

@@DevinGtv901 I'll recommend watching the original 1978 series first, then watch the "re-imagined" version. The original is a little "campy", but it was a product of its time. The re-imagined version is a lot more serious, and deviates from the original pretty hard. Both are good in their own ways, though. However, if you watch the 2000s version first, the 1978 original will not hold up very well, despite it being groundbreaking for visual effects (for a television series) at the time. John Dykstra (who was one of the founding members of ILM (that did the effects for Star Wars)) was the head of visual effects for that series.

@@IggyStardust1967 i really don’t think he needs to do that much homework. The show is well written and easy to catch on to. Also not knowing things adds to the suspense and wonder of an already very intense show, in my opinion. BSG doesn’t really get much views for reactions on yt, so there’s prob a slim chance he does it anyways. why try to bog the man down with precursors?

@@DevinGtv901 yessir! It’s been shown in comics but as well as the live action Bona Fett show, Book of Boba Fett. And imo they did my mans diiiirty!! Made him too soft! Not to mention they spent a looooot of plot time in that show on the Mandalorian story line. Side note the Mandalorian show is actually pretty damn good imo!! Dude is badass!

I'm sure others have told you this but the three that you just watched were the middle three in a nine movie series. Now you go and watch episodes 1, 2 and 3 (also known as the prequels) to find out how Darth Vader became Darth Vader and all the other things. Episodes 7, 8 and 9 take place a couple decades after the end of episode 6 (this movie). In my opinion, they are not good. I'll let you decide for yourself, though. Enjoyed the reaction!

@@DevinGtv901 several reasons: they seem to rehash the same plot as the original movies, they switched up directors and didn't have a coordinated story, the main character is a 'Mary Sue' (which basically means they are overpowered and have very little training), poor character development. Also, there was a whole Expanded Universe that was fleshed out in several series of books covering what happened after episode 6 that fans loved but when George Lucas sold the rights to Disney, they threw out the Expanded Universe and made it non-canon. Also, the way they did the original characters in the later movies was bad!

When Luke attacks the Emperor with the saber, Vader blocks him not to protect the Emperor, but to protect Luke. Because at this point he didn´t want the same fate for his son.

@DevinGtv901 Yes, at that point Luke does what the Emperor tells him to do - gives into his hatred and attempts to strike the Emperor down. Vader intervenes and prevents his son from going down the same path of anger and hatred he did, it gives Luke a moment to breathe and regain his composure. Lukes power comes from his ability to control his emotions, not let them control him.

also the reason the timeline is messed up is because the first movie that came out was simply just Star Wars because it was not expected to be popular so George made one movie set in the middle of his story but then the movie became a massive success and "star wars" became episode 4 to show chronologically it comes later even though it came out first.
So he didn’t expect it be to big hit!?

No, when he made it he had two mildly at best successful to his credit. He had no idea it would become what it did. Once it had, he had already called Star Wars, Episode 4 so he had to roll with it. He goes back and makes Episodes 1-3 which is a generation in the past. Then they make Episode 7-9 without him which is a generation after. Each trilogy takes place over major events of a generation of heroes and villains.
Hey Devin, I like your reactions man, you crack me up and I like your enthusiasm, you should consider watching the prequels (episode 1, 2, and 3) bc you get to see how Anakin became Darth Vader with a younger Obi Wan... Episodes 7, 8, and 9 are trash imo, Disney f'd Star Wars up big time, Rogue One and Solo are pretty good movies though, peace man.

No, it's 1,2,3, the prequels must come first....
After those, just pretend 7-9 don't even exist... there's the star wars The Clone Wars animated series, Rebels animated series, and a couple other decent movies like Rogue One for example... it takes place before 'A New Hope' and the destruction of the Death Star
There's a lot of content that fills in gaps and tells a much larger story set between the prequels and the original trilogy. Oh, the Mandolorian which takes place 5 years after this movie and the fall of the Empire is also really good. .. but like I said, Prequels first, watch in order of release, then after that watch The Clone Wars series, then you can watch the remaining shows and movies in chronological order if you wish.
What about the animated series? Is it good?
@@DevinGtv901Oh the animated series is HELLA good. It takes time to build but it it’s a fantastic watch with special characters added for their own arcs.

@@DevinGtv901Devin, I been watching your reacts for a long time and they definitely brightened up some of my darkest days. I know these older SW movies are dated, but I used to watch them with my dad growing up. Luke's struggle to keep cool at the end always gets to me, as I tried really hard, and failed, to get my dad off booze before it was too late. In this movie Luke succeeds and gets his father's redemption and it's bitter sweet since he loses him; still an epic ending to a killer trilogy, glad you stuck with it the whole way.
About the last "sequel" trilogy, 7,8, and 9 - most of us SW fans don't really like to even acknowledge their existence, especially the plot twist in part 9. I won't spoil it but basically many of us hard-core sw fans feel kinda let down by the last few movies since what they did to Luke was awful (even Mark Hamill said its not a good portrayal of Luke) & they were made by Disney and not George Lucas. That being said, I would still watch them on your channel, but sw fans most likely prefer the Prequel trilogy over sequels. I always thought you already watched the prequels but if not, then parts 1 2 and 3 are the best, but there are some newer shows like Andor (takes place between pt 3 and ends right at the beginning of pt4, a New Hope) and Mandolorian, but Rogue One is probably my favorite out of all the new SW since the story is good and it's dark but original. The movie "Solo" is about Han when he's younger, I thought it was cool but not everyone did.

Dude. There are two ways to start watching Star Wars: Either chronologically from a story standpoint or from a release standpoint. So either Episode 1,2,3,4,5,6 or Episode 4,5,6,1,2,3. You shouldn't start from episode 6.

Anakin was such a contradiction. But not a contradiction at all. The dark and the light. Jedi Knight and Sith Lord. But as in all good stories, Love triumphs. Love for a spouse or for your children. People will move mountains for those two things. Or in Anakins case, destroy worlds, slaughter children, and obliterate religions. You know, you gotta do, what you gotta do.
I'd love to watch the whole 'Reaction', but I can't hear the movie characters w/o turning up the volume so much, 'Your commentary' is screaming at me.

Just stop your Star Wars viewing here. It's the perfect closure to the dismal attempts of Disney to anything worthwhile with the franchise. I still tear up each and every time with Vader's redemption here.
Prequels are still just as much a part of the saga.

@@Gojirawars03 just in reference to the years following Disney's purchase. Rogue one wasn't at all necessary for the backstory of ANH, just personal opinion (of course along with my attitude towards Disney's treatment of all Lucasfilm content), but everyone's free to go their own route.

@DevinGtv901 The simplest way I can sum it up is that the creators of those movies didn't respect the story or characters they were working with. George Lucas had no involvement, and they had no plan. The three movies did not have a pre-planned story, and the director of episode 8 actively wanted to subvert expectations and deconstruct the franchise. Episode 9 directly contradicts existing lore in so many ways I couldn't even begin to list them all. They effectively ruin the ending of this movie by making it mean nothing in the long run. They were made by a corporation with corporate thinking, not by people who cared.

Don't bother watching 7.8, and 9 pure garbage and only disrespects the original characters and material. 1,2, and 3 bring it all together and you'll be much happier and satisfied in watching them. Just my opinion but I'm sure a lot of people would agree with me.
Don't watch episodes 7.8.9 they are all terrible, they are all directed by disney and not george lucas. The disney movies are a twisted reflection of the true vision that george had for star wars. If you want the true authentic experience stick with movies 1-6. There is one disney movie though that actually was written well and felt like it really fit and that's Rogue One which takes place between each of the trilogys. The other movies are good in their own ways but they just don't feel like genuine "star wars"

Now that you finish The Trilogy don’t watch the rest, it will ruin Star Wars for you. Only those who grew up on the sequels accept those trash films. I wish I would have never gone to the theaters back in the days to watch the prequels. It has bad story telling, plenty of contradictions to the Original Trilogy. The only good thing is the music, thanks to John Williams. The choreography light saber fights look more like dance offs, twirling the light saber like a cheerleader baton. Real fights don’t go that way. But if you need more content to add to your channel and don’t care about ruining Star Wars, then it’s understandable why you would watch the prequels.
watch 1 thru 3. skip the Disney trash please. it's in own trash canon and horrible and insulting to Star Wars. 1-6 is the complete story.

Force Awakens is basically A New Hope but it’s Rey and not Luke. Last Jedi is where they really screwed themselves over. And I just don’t care for the last film. 😅

The characters, story, sets, etc everything is beautiful and badass. and shows you many beloved characters' origins to how they became who they are in 4 5 and 6. Rogue One is the only passable movie under Disney's name because the director Garth Edwards respected George's creations. the rest are horrible trash and it would best to never see them or really speak of them. -oh you already saw them! glad you loved them!
