“It’s like Harry Potter in space.”
No. Harry Potter is Star Wars with wizards.
The girl in pink needs to stop talking
Fr
The girl in the pink has no respect for craft what so ever. She thinks that she is some kinda cool diva or something, she is making fool of herself.
"It would be better if it was hot people doing this" is the only criteria they followed when making the last trilogy
There was "hot people" in the last trilogy?
Title is a little misleading. They're not actually watching the films. Instead, they're being ruined from watching the films by being told the whole plot through snippets. Why?!
You showed them the ORIGINAL "Han Shoots Greedo" scene. MAD RESPECT.
Happy Star Wars Day everyone!
Um thank you to
May the 4th be with you
The girl in pink just pissed me off the whole video. If you don't like it, that's one thing, but you don't have to be condescending and snobby about it. Also, she clearly was not paying attention during any of it. "Who's the Jedi?" Are you kidding me?
Kids these days that have never been introduced to Star Wars properly should be given a chance to watch and appreciate the entire saga. I've been a fan since the beginning.
"The CGI is a bit visible." Lol. Jokes on you kid. In 1983 there was no such thing as CGI.
Tron came out in 1982. And it very much had CGI.
@@pschweitzer524 the cgi in Tron is almost non-existent. The entire movie was shot in negative and all the light on the walls, uniforms, etc... was hand painted. The only cgi used was the intro and outro of the computer world and "Bit". And they had to send the film to Europe, I think to Denmark, to have that done.
CGI was added into the current versions of the old movies back in the late 90s or early 2000's by GL, unless you have a videotape or one of the first DVD versions, then you cannot avoid having CG in the OG films - it's not much, but it is there.
Back when movies were believable
Not true. The original version of Star Wars A New Hope from 1977 even actually has some of the earliest CGI used in movie history. It was the 1st movie to use 3D wireframe graphics which was used to create the Death Star landing briefing and the targeting of the Millennium Falcon's guns. The very first use of CGI I know of is from Hitchcock's Vertigo in 1958.
What's the internal temperature of a taun-taun? Luke Warm!
If Tom is short for Thomas and Mike is short for Michael, what's Luke short for? A stormtrooper!
Whats yoda's last name?? layheehoo
if your a star wars fan... you know the lore about Vaders wife? its an uplifting story, her names Ella Vader
Hahaha! Have seen those All b4...Still cracks me up!-lol
You really did these guys a disservice by not showing them the full movies
If it gives them a taste and makes them curious to take time to watch the whole movie like they said towards the end… I don’t feel this is disservice at all… it’s like people going on a cruise to see a place briefly before making a decision to visit for a longer period of time. To each his own though.
Yes have them sit through 6+ hours of media lol. I think they summed it up pretty well
Eh did you get the feeling they could follow what they saw ? They had a hard time understanding what they got... The Empire.. So that's the... Bad guys.?
@@gizmo8453yeah totally agree, we shouldn't expect kids now days to be able to do things kids for generations have been able to do. They are too special to be able to do that.
Exactly!
Funny enough, Carrie Fisher WAS a teenager in the first film.
Yes, she was 19. They initially offered the part to Jodie Forster, who was 13 or 14 at the time, but she turned it down because she would have had to break contract with Disney for the movie Freaky Friday.
I guess seeing 15 second clips and being told second hand the plot beats is what counts as "watching Star Wars." Why not show them the entire movie so they can actually enjoy it and discover the story and characters for themselves?
They could watch it and then either edit down to some of the key moments for us to watch like some other movie/tv reactors do, or watch it then come to talk about it after.
Right?!? I know that many of the reactions on this channel are in clip format, but for what they usually do- music videos, stuff like that- that's fine. These are films that should be EXPERIENCED, not spoon-fed.
Because that would take 6 hours to do, not including questions and answers. Doing that with 4 sets of reactors is just not doable. Are you seriously this clueless???
@@maplenerd22 There's dozens of channels that do it all the time. I guess you've never heard of editing.
To be fair when Luke & Lea kissed they were unaware they are twins.
THere was no CGI back then when those movies came out....believe it ir not these effects were not computer generated during the 70s...thats why these movies blew away everbody's minds off
That is not entirely accurate. While no CGI was used in A New Hope or The Empire Stikes Back, everything was done practically with models, stop motion, matte paintings and rotoscoping. By the time Return of the Jedi was released in 1983 CGI was in existence. Industrial Light and Magic did the first full CGI scene the year prior for Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan for the planet Genesis. I do believe for Return of the Jedi CGI was used for the lightsaber effects as well as the Emperors force lightning.
wow I can't believe teens of today have never seen Star Wars! How have they even lived??? I first watched Star Wars when I was like 5 with my dad. I still remember when my mom gave my dad the vhs tapes for his birthday, I probably watched those more then him.
That was the same for me my Dad showed me the movies when I was 5 and he did the same with my siblings and agree with you how have they lived without watching the greatest trilogy in cinema history is beyond me. Also May the 4th Be With you 😊
If these kids have never seen Star Wars... their parents have failed them.
I think it's been a while since the producer here actually watched the original trilogy because he was getting all sorts of details wrong.
Heh. Carrie was 19 during filming of Episode IV, I think.
Yep. Leia and Luke were also 19
I think Carrie Fisher was 19 when they filmed Star Wars. Not grandma.
21. But, yeah.
I was scrolling to see if someone had mentioned this. Thanks. 🙏🏼
love that whoever edited this video together took the time to use the unaltered version of han v greedo. cheers editor👍
I am subscribed to you as well🤩
Same
This is not how you introduce people to STAR WARS.
Kids, when you called out cgi on the speeder baike chase...there was no CGI...it didnt exist...it was all doen with pratical special effects and greenscreen
I mean technically CGI did exist, but it was used for the Death Star plans in A New Hope. Otherwise, yeah. We need more practical effects
@@pr0cr4st1na7or Nope no cgi
Rip Carrie fisher
These movies were made before CGI was a thing. The SFX are ALL practical effects or blue screen (or both).
I was fortunate enough to see all three of these films at the cinema (quite a while after it came out in the US because of no actual internet at the time...)
No no no NO... This was rhe special editions from 98. There was 2000 things in these that's not in the original trilogy.. There was loads of CGI in these.
@@ebbhead20 Dayum! Well, I'm sorry, I guess I shouldn't take things literally... Like "Teens Watch the Original Star Wars..."
@@thedarcbird Well, the original unaltered Star Wars doesn't exist unless you have the VHS version. The DVD/BluRay versions are only the remastered versions.
Carolina's parents didn't do a great job raising her I'm afraid
hahahaha..... my thoughts exactly :)
I have to agree
Why not have them watch the WHOLE movies and get their reactions during the movies instead of clips? That way they know the FULL story and not just random clips
Gen Z attention span
Fun fact during episode v the actor who played Luke got in car during filming. So the wounds from the yeti are real. But the wounds are from the car accident.
Yup.
Yes.
He got in car.
Crazy how they can see the CGI when there is no CGI 😂
Drives me crazy that people seem to think that CGI just stands for any special effects or that all sfx are done with a computer.
I'm sorry, but what? You can't have people "react" to watching Star Wars for the first time if they aren't actually watching Star Wars for the first time! You've robbed these kids of a wonderful experience
You should have just had them watch the actual film 🙄
Girl’s so concerned with the cringe that she *became* the cringe.
*cue “you were supposed to destroy the Sith” meme*
Not the brightest bulb. She's always more concerned about her looks -- playing with her hair and mugging for the camera -- than anything else going on
"Teens Watch the Original Star Wars" proceeds to be 20 minutes of a producer recapping 7 hours of some of the most iconic films in cinema history with some clips thrown in. This was your chance to make an actual Reaction video.
I need to sit down with their parents. What kind of movies did you show to your kids??? The girl in pink doesn't even know what a lightsaber is..
So they aren’t actually watching the full movies, just clips, way to butcher these great movies. If you want them to appreciate them, then they need to watch them in full.
If they watch the full movie, 20 minutes is not enough 'coz the full movie of every star wars movie is approximately 2 hours.
@@iamthor1094 I know that, that’s why you do what other react channels do and break it up into clips, they watch the whole movie, and we see little snippets. This is a bastardized version of that, not letting them get the full context of the entire movies, giving them slide shows in between and not even playing full clips, cutting off important dialogue and moments. These movies are full of world building and you cant get the full appreciation for them if you aren’t watching the whole thing. That one girl didn’t even recognize a lightsaber, cause they aren’t actually watching anything of substance. This channel never fails to disappoint.
Dude you have to understand as well that this kids today only have like 30 seconds of continuous attention, they can't watch the complete movie even if they are being paid to do so 😂
But the only problem is they are watching the modern special editions and i hate the modern special editions.
Sooooo you mean these kids have to sit for 6 hours to watch the movies? I don't think it is something doable. And the channel does not specifically to react movies, hence their way of doing it. Do I think this is the best way to represent the movies? Of course not. But this is the best they can do for sure.
Carrie Fisher was 19/20 in this movie. 🙄
This is quite possibly the dumbest way to introduce someone to anything
yeah, almost puked my beer
The return of the jedi is for Anakin returning from the dark side, not Luke.
"Do you wanna watch these three movies that i just completely spoiled for you?"
"Yes..."
I’m glad im a star wars fan , and I’m a teenager. These kids are not Star Wars people
The destruction of Alderaan doesn't qualify as an iconic scene?!
Leia & Ken? I bet that Harrison Ford love hearing that.......haha!
I'm 4 minutes in and this is beyond excruciating to watch. Jesus! I have to stop.
Seriously..the fact that one of them says "neither of them are hot so I don't know who to cheer for" made me want to throw up..
Happy Star Wars Day and May the 4th be with you
Really wish you would have shown them the movies in their entirety. Pretty much ruined all of the major impactful moments in all three of them for these kids.
Only positive note is that it seems to have brought about a realization for Carolina, from her original vapid comments, to see that characters can have depth and value over a simple impression of outward appearances.
The cgi? The ai? Lmao kids can’t fathom those had nothing to do with these
Girl in the pink, really! Carrie was hot! All these actors except Carrie (Leia), Peter Mayhew (Chewie) and Sir Alec Guinness (Obi wan) still working in their craft today.
Mark Hamill (Luke) continues in movie & series especially in current Star Wars plus he is the voice for Joker in Batman animation. Harrison Ford (Han) worked as Indiana Jones plus other movies.
Hamill has retired from The Joker now since Kevin Conroy passed away.
@@Lapinporokoira Oh that's right, thanks for the info
I'm confused... how is this watching Star Wars? This would have been far more interesting for viewers and fun for them to simply watch the actual movie and react to that. Sometimes shortcuts aren't actually helpful.
Seriously; this is probably the most insulting thing I've seen someone do to a piece of media for reaction purposes. No movie or show was created to be summarized and chopped up for consumption.
Tell me you don't understand swordfighting fundamentals without telling me that: 6:47 Why don't just like stab because you can't block a stab?
Gotta love Star Wars! A ton of hate being thrown around in the comments. The prequels are probably older than some in the video. May the 4th be with you.
Why would they watch the movies now you gave them the endings 😂
Right? This was terrible. They were cheated of having the real Star Wars experience.
May the force be with these Padawans.
May the 4th be with you
14:20, Luke's mom is Padme. Padme is also Leia's mom since Luke and Leia are twins.
may the 4th be with you everybody
alderaan was not destroyed by darth vader it was tarkin who gave the command to destroy the planet :)
They left out SO many important details. This clip show with running synopsis was stupid. Just watch the actual movie!
Why bother with this condensed explanation? Why not just let them watch the movies? This is a massive disrespect of these iconic movies. Thumbs down for me.
The girl in the pink, never bring her back.
She grates on my nerves
Return of the Jedi is my all time favorite. I love the first "Ewok they show. I had the toy as a kid.
I'm loving the girls where one has the skeleton jacket! So proud of them! I love how excited and educated on Star Wars they are!
"Omg, so cringe.' "Omg so. eeww.." SHADDUP...lol
I don't get this format. Why not just show them the movies and film their reactions?
I'm reallly pissed off. You don't do that to Star Wars or any saga for that matter....😤
These poor kids. You did them a real disservice
Leia is 19 in ANH, not in her 30's or something lol
May the Force be with you!
Happy Star Wars Day everyone
Can we all just really take in the fact that none of these guys watched Star Wars before. Like not even a little?
Sad. I wonder if they ever will now? Yet somehow they knew an awful lot about the characters and could sing the theme music by heart.
Tbh I hadn’t watched the original trilogy until my junior year in college
Why is that a surprise? These are teenagers. When I was a teenager, I wasn't watching movies from 40 years ago either.
@@maplenerd22Really? You missed some of the most amazing movies ever.
The good thing is, it's never too late
As a 90s person, I did not care for the “new” Star Wars like I was Queen Amidala for one Halloween but if I had been introduced to the franchise like this then I feel like I would’ve been more interested in the whole franchise more perhaps. I love the Mandalorian a lot though.
"Something weird is going on here." -Darth Vader
LOL!!
9:19 Chewy got no love... Everyone else got a medal but him!
You made your own blue milk? You can buy it in stores now!! May the 4th be with you!
Not knowing there were humans in Star Wars means she was left out TOO damn hard. That's like saying you didn't know Spider-Man wore red.
OMG so agree. Did she think everyone in masks were robots?
@@mackenziemc She said she didn't realize there are human characters, not the people playing the aliens. Come on now.
Most people mistake the line for Luke I am your father when it actually is No, I am your father.
What kind of stupid reaction is this? Let them watch the movies, not some half-assed breakdown.
The Bikini that launched a thousand Cosplays...
Underrated comment, my g.😂
Happy star wars day everybody, and May the 4th be with you !
I absolutely loved this episode!!! The original movies of Star wars were incredible masterpieces for their time!!!!
A sci-fi pix back then would have used electronic music, the fact they used symphonic music gives the movie a very grandious feel.
I'm here to see my fellow Star Wars nerds tear this incomplete synopsis a new one.😂
Here, I'll start...
How you gonna skip Lukes aunt and uncle slaughtered by the storm troopers? Thats what made him go with Obe Wan.
Right? So much was skipped. I couldn't make it five minutes into this "reaction." Either allow them to experience the whole film in real time, or don't bother. This was terrible.
That wasn't even a main plot of the story. Seriously, you star wars nerds are some the dumbest people I've met. It's honestly embarrassing.
this is going to be painful I can already tell
Fun fact Han Solo actually has three kids with force powers, but that only happens in the books. They never gave the reason why, cut most of the kids. Han Solo has one kid in the movies.
They know not how these movies influenced many of the movies they love.
In 1979, I was 7 and I stood in line a block long to get in to see the movie. No online ticket sales. People sitting in the aisles. It was a different time. Movies were just bigger back then.
You mean 1977? That's when A New Hope was released. Then Empire Strikes Back came out in 1980.
@@amandabaker4678 typo
NO NO NO. They need to watch the movie not just parts of it. UGH
They do watch the whole movie, they juat don't show it, it's called editing
@@charlesbailey7839 I dont think they do
@@charlesbailey7839 They specifically asked if this inspired them to go back and watch the whole films at the end.
@@charlesbailey7839Cannot possibly have, too much confusion during the clips with episode 5&6
May the Fourth Be With You all
Pretty sure Harry Potter is like Star Wars not Star Wars like Harry Potter.
My favorite was always Return of the Jedi because of the massive dogfight between the Rebel fleet and the Imperial fleet.
Hardest death in cinema? Nobody show her Neverending Story!!!!!
i think it is funny how many times they said "this is cgi" nothign they thought was was even close. but i am glad they all decided they will watch it
Yeah, this was before CGI. This is all old school FX post-production editing, the hard way.
Mind Blown time...Filmed in a small town outside London(apart from on location). Studio now has a George Lucas film set.
That was very nice to watch. Kids have a special kind of excitement for things like this, and Star Wars was a classic for getting this response.
While I'm disturbed by some of the reactions I saw I want to say thankyou... Han shot first!
If you were going ot do a "react to the original with moments. you should have just done episode 4. and seperate ones for the other 2 movies.
The only character I was scared from the original is Jabba the Hut. It just looks like something from those scary Henson 80s movies.
The fact that you showed the new version of Vader in force ghost was disappointing.
Yeah, it was Han shoots first, but then, Scarlacc with a head, no "Yub Nub", no original Ani Force ghost, ...
Should have just showed them C-3PO telling the story to the Ewoks.
HAPPY STAR WARS DAY!
That girl in the pink shirt is just playing a stereotype, yall must have prompted her, lol.
People like that do not exist for real. >.>
Unfortunately, I think she is or she somehow thinks it's cute.
May the 4th be with you, always.
tik tok content for tik tok brains !
This was definitely something interesting. It’s fun to see people’s reactions to watching Star Wars for the first time because it’s always fun to see how they’d experience it for the first time. Also Happy ‘belated’ Star Wars Day and May The 4th Be With You.
