  • A trip on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway from Pickering to Whitby, with a look at Thornton Le Dale and Hutton Le Hole Villages and the Ryedale Folk Museum. We also pass through Cropton Village and look at Cawthorn Roman Camp.
Note, this was 2022 and not 2020 as I incorrectly stated in the video.
George Stephenson' s son was Robert Stephenson inventor of the early steam locomotive 'The Rocket' not Robert Louis Stephenson the Scottish novelist.

That film brought back a lot of memories. I used to go up to the NY Moors and coast almost every year once, and toured extensively. I keep thinking about going again sometime but somehow never get round to it. Thanks for the reminder of what there is.

Hi Michael, finally managed to put this together after the July trip. I remember you saying you used to tour NY Moors. We managed quite a lot in our five day trip but didn't video it all. Time for some autumnal scenes before it all disappears I guess.

You packed a lot into this one Steve, a really enjoyable video. The North Yorkshire Moors Railway is on my to-do list, as I hear it's fab. Been to Whitby of course and stayed in Hutton-le-Hole for a few days, amazing village. Never been to Thornton-le-Dale though, but it looks pretty from your video. Really enjoyed your very lively jazzy piano score here with some organ in the background too 👍

Hi Patrick, glad you liked my piano music, really enjoying writing the jazzy ones, but not too jazzy. Wish we had purchased a hop-on hop-off ticket at the NYR to visit places en route. Tried the flute on my keyboard but it's just not the same hehe.

I do like your use of graphics in your films. Impressive and as always your music a treat to hear. Think one of your track was familiar to a previous film. (p.s. do you go to Jazz Festivals?)
So nice to have a social day out. It must have been a full day for you both. I enjoyed sharing your day's journey.

Hi Shanita, I do enjoy playing with the graphics side of production. How are you getting on with that new software? Must admit, never been to a jazz festival, I like the cocktail jazz piano style (worked for years through an agent as a cocktail pianist), but not keen on the heavy jazz. Went to see Johnny Dankworth and his quartet years ago, it went straight over my head.
Great day today wasn't it, we walked around Roddlesworth, Darwin, legs aching a bit now.

Hi Steve. Interesting to read your interest in jazz . We went to Marsden Fringe Jazz Festival. Go most years. Like you I prefer lounge jazz. I gave up on the Davinci editing software. Too complex and time consuming. Might try again sometime though.
