    I got a Parabellum with Rewind/Orbs early in the season and put 2.5k kills on it in pve. It’s actually a crazy fucked up combo, and can be a pseudo anti-barrier weapon with the artifact for Radiant. And then I got a Title with Orbs/Destab Rounds. Orbs is a SUPER slept on perk, but the community will wake up sooner or later, especially with Onslaught coming up 🌚

    I guess what it comes down to in general is… do you need more Orbs?
    Most of the time the answer is no because you’re getting plenty of Orbs from a Siphon mod, Heavy Handed or Firepower (which if you’re really leaning into the spam of those depending on your build either 2-3 mods of that are going to give you really great rewards) and/or Reaper. Not to mention subclass fragments that can also generate orbs. So if there’s no real issue making Orbs and even with the nerfs it seems like you still have infinite ability spam and fast supers, do you need it?
    The next question is what are you giving up on a weapon you’re actually going to use? The weapons you might even use to begin with are limited out of the weapons that have it unless we’re talking the most casual of casual playing (which is completely fine BTW). Just a couple examples…. Breakneck. You giving up Kinetic Tremors or Onslaught? Definitely not. Scatter Signal. You giving up Controlled Burst? Subjunctive. You giving up Voltshot? The answer is pretty well always NO, which is fine.
    When you get to end game (doesn’t have to be end game either) each season has something super strong that you’re using which is versatile (like Polaris Lance) and if you’re trying to run something faster you’re spamming rockets to kill big enemies and add clear. The video gameplay is the perfect example of a combination of the issues of something like Attrition Orbs. Parabellum is a fine weapon and all. Are we really going to give up Sunshot, Polaris Lance, Calus Mini-Tool, Abyss Defiant, The Summoner, Heliocentric QSc, Tyranny of Heaven, No Survivors, Zaouli’s Bane, Ammit AR2, Vex Mythoclast, Cartesian Coordinate, Ticcuu Divination, The Eremite, Tarrabah and I’m sure I could name more but I’m only talking about solar weapons in that slot up for something that kills slower and has less general utility (either becoming stronger for single target, clearing groups of adds quicker and such) to get some more Orbs? The answer is going to almost always be no unless it’s a content creator making a video. Which the gameplay also shows that too because the even though you could kind of double dip with Attrition Orbs… the best thing for a solar Hunter with the fan knives is to get the enemy low enough and just kill them with the knives because it’ll get you an Orb for the melee kill (if you got three stacks plenty of energy and can do it every second), they do more damage, and depending on your exotic you might be getting all sorts of bonuses like Shards of Ghalanor. On top of that your melee comes back with every kill.
    Unfortunately the answer for most of these things are always no. Which is OK. Really just means something needs to change with the perk to bring it into a more useful territory instead of purposely handicapping yourself in comparison to what you could be running to show the perk has “potential.”
    This isn’t a slight or a criticism of Spade either.

    • @AceInTheSpade
      @AceInTheSpade  Před 3 měsíci +2

      The part you're missing is a lot of those things you mentioned require kills. The build I was running just happened to be what I have equipped, and the video was more of an on purpose slow demo so people could see the orbs popping out.
      The whole point of videos like this and Permeability is to get people to think outside the box a little more with perks. I even stated at the end that by no means is this an insane perk or an amazing perk. Just wanted to highlight its potential utility.
      I also disagree with the sentiment, "Do we need more orbs?" You can never have too many orbs, IMO. And like I highlighted, they can proc fragments without requiring kills, which can come in handy in content where enemies are chunkier or your under leveled and weapons don't hit as hard.
      Sure, with the fan of knives build I'm running. You could easily go without but on other builds. It is very useful. I just happened to have this build for an upcoming video.
      Also, I'd never use this on special or heavy weapons, only primaries. Something I should of clarified up front.
      I think the best example of this perk is on Multimach which can roll attrition orbs and kinetic tremors together. With Kinetic Tremors hits counting towards the hit requirements.
      Otherwise, fair points. I just don't completely agree.

    Eye of Another world solar warlock build is great with the Parabellum (Attrition Orbs, Heal Clip in the other slot to proc ember of benevolence). Instant abilities on tap. Orb stream tops up the regen on top of the mods and exotic and heat rises.

  • @travismallaber7683
    @travismallaber7683 Před 3 měsíci +3

    I totally agree that this is a great utility perk, but I do find it better on some weapons than others. Because it activates based on hitting a percentage of the magazine, weapons with high fire rates and small magazines can activate faster, which makes it feel more rewarding. So it feels great on a 900 smg like Parabellum, but less great on like a 450 auto. I'm really hoping to get that Attrition/Tremors Multimach this week 🤞if I do it's gonna be my main pve smg.

    • @AceInTheSpade
      @AceInTheSpade  Před 3 měsíci +1

    I happen to have a interesting Parabellum roll; I'm still unsure how good it is though. Shoot To Loot + Attrition Orbs. It feels like SUCH a good roll in concept, but in practice what's holding back the combo is the fact I have it on a SMG. I mean, those bullets go FLYING.
    I wonder if a more precise weapon would be better. Waking Vigil and Breakneck could roll these perks in separate columns, one being an adaptive hand cannon and the other being a precision autorifle.

    • @AceInTheSpade
      @AceInTheSpade  Před 3 měsíci +2

      Yeah that combo is probably better on a acout or handcannon. But on parabellum, if you spawn a bunch of orbs close but out of reach, it would still work pretty well. I myself am going for Rewind Rounds and Attrition Orbs on parabellum.

    The one thing I'm really wonderingis if you were to get unraveling roundson a weapon with attrition orbs, can the unravel effect proc attrition orbs? Because unravel spreads like a wildfire very easily and it outputs a lot of continuous damage, could be an orb generating monster if unravel can proc attrition orbs.

      The gameplay here I had unraveling rounds procced almost all the time because of the unraveling orbs seasonal mod. It didn't seem to make a difference, but I could be wrong. I did have some moments where more than one orb popped at a time.

      It's separate from mods and fragments, but it can compliment and work with them. I actually talk about that in relation to advantage #3. And if you watch closely the build, I'm running spawns orbs on knife kills in addition to attrition spawning orbs in the gameplay.
