As good as it gets - MASSIVE 60ft Nazare

  • This was far away from maxed out Nazare, but you couldn't have asked for more perfect conditions. The winds were low, and the swell direction was playing a perfect part to the shape of these monsters. Topping out at around 60+ feet on this day, we saw some really clean-fun waves! This is just part 1 of this day. I was on the cliffs filming for over 8 hours, and WOW did I score some great shots! I was trying out some new angles & altitudes, and I feel like I really scored some beautiful waves. The whole pack was frothing on the days leading up to February 7, 2019, and the forcasts all held up! I have WAY MORE footage on the way! SO PUMPED!! I hope you guys enjoyed! If you liked what you saw SMACK THAT LIKE BUTTON, and consider subscribing if you havent already! Subscribing is FREE and it really helps me out! Thanks again for all of your support, MAHALO, ABRIGADO, GRACIAS, CHEERS!

      Agreed. I'm no drone expert, however I think we're about to get huge steps in drone AI, with proximity and follow me and height settings all amped up. There's no reason why a drone can't be 2 or 3 m from the surfer, 1 m above water height with the ability to get up and out of danger's way when needed. Exciting times ahead

    • @evian9999
      @evian9999 Před 5 lety +11

      I agree! Drones have already changed photography by making it more accessible. Before drones, to get the shots they got in this video, you would need to hire a helicopter and have a camera guy hanging out the side of it. Helicopters are not cheap to rent lol.
      FPV drones are also revolutionizing photography. Search for Johnny FPV and you'll get a good idea of what they're capable of.

      Lawrence Atkinson 100%. We think the same way. I spend half my life imagining what technology is going to do soon. I foresee all the same things. Exciting is a poor word for what i feel. • @pbs36
      @pbs36 Před 4 lety +104

      With a couple small differences: even the densest snow has only half the density of water; waves keep coming one after the other.
      The only advantage of waves over of avalanches, is that you float back to the surface, hopefully before drowning, still able to swim after the beating and in a place where swimming is going to be any useful.

    Nazare is for the expert with an average of 25 years of experience, endurance and physical strength. Deep diving and your lungs are your only life support. This is not for the faint of heart. Those are savages waters. It's a jungle that can easily send anyone to their grave.
    Besides the footage is beautiful showing how waves cast shadows over the water when they curl up. The job of Ski requires intense skill and awareness too.

    The guys jumping off mountains in wingsuits have big cajones, but these guys out there with those truly massive waves above and behind you are at another level. Just unbelievable. Great vid

    I was there live over two years ago, it was INCREDIBLE. The size of the waves hardly comes across in this video, you MUST have seen it live - at least once in your life. If you watch how some surfers need up to an hour to pull the guys out to sea, despite the jet ski, you can roughly imagine what's going on. I was stunned, the guys and gals are absolute brutes to me. Amazing footage.
