- Huibert Mees helped design the suspension on the Tesla Model S, one of the most important cars ever made. How did Tesla go from producing a small, Lotus-based sports car to producing an S-Class beating EV sedan? Working smarter, not harder.

Who better than the one and only Huibert Mees? 😄 What an engineering talent
Great video, I have even more respect for the car! Thanks
Very neat segment.
So it's V1.0 was a Frankenstein car, and once they made money they gradually made better cars. Pretty ingenious
This is great!I love seeing this kind of optimization.
Really impressive explanations.
Awesome insight, thanks!
Just one small thing.. You do not talk about the fact that the model S has no camber adjustment in the rear, and why the design results in massive inner tyre wear due to a quite excessive camber.. Any chance for a follow up with Huibert?
Pretty fascinating. Thanks for posting this!
Why didn't they use a two gear system and install the rack right side up? That would give them the ratio they want and revert back the direction.
It's that little link that always fails
Good thing they are very cheap and very easy to replace.
This looks pretty much the same as my old B5 S4's front suspension, minus the air. Nothing really novel.
Pretty much the whole point. Novel is expensive.
