    Very useful review for the relevant market. Sadly too many people believe this is an audition. Keep up the great work. Thanks

    As a family of five who enjoy camping we need alot of space so we went with the vw touran, what suv would you say has the closest boot capacity, or bigger would be great

    You quoted the sticker fuel economy but after 7 days of driving didn't bother to disclose the actual fuel economy?

    How does it compare with Volvo XC40. ? When comparing to Mini Clubman , it seems a bit odd.

      I think she compared it to a countryman. Which is also a suv, so maybe it makes more sense. I don't know not an expert 🤣

    I highly doubt that you will get 6.6L / 100 Km with this car. I have the precise same car, only the 18i S Drive & I get 8.5L / 100 Km. And we drive it in ECO PRO mode permanently.

      Everyone is entitled to an opinion and the reviewer should consider feedback and criticism from the viewers. This particular reviewer lacks clarity and substance in reviewing this particular vehicle and her comments are very vague and generic. Just my $0.02 worth. No need to be so defensive!

    So your saying this doesn’t compete with the top spec CX-5, and Tucson for example? Or does expensive Euro trash only compete with expensive Euro trash?

    • @Sevy89
      @Sevy89 Před 5 lety

      The X1 is a bit smaller than those. volvo XC40, Audi Q3, Merc GLA and i believe a Lexus UX are the direct competitors. The Porsche Macan could also be a competitor, although it's in a higher price range.

      @@vkdlvkdl Are you 100% positive?
      In this video and the ebrochure they sure look like they are halogen. The LED headlights look quite different on higher spec models.

    • @vkdlvkdl
      @vkdlvkdl Před 5 lety

      @@phillipmarnik No idea where you are looking but BMWs website clearly mentions led headlights as standard fitment. Besides 25i is top of the range in the X1 line up, of course it would be a standard feature.

    • @phillipmarnik
      @phillipmarnik Před 5 lety

      @@vkdlvkdl I'm looking at the brochure.
      The "Basic" model looks to clearly have halogen headlights and the brochure only mentions LED running lights.

    • @vkdlvkdl
      @vkdlvkdl Před 5 lety

      @@phillipmarnik OMG dude. Brochure only mentions features relating to different lines such as xline and msport. ofcourse headlight is not a differentiating feature of various lines. check the spec sheet. even the most basic model comes with led lights. Google bmw x1 specification.

      David T Have you actually been in a X1 and CX3? Im guesing not because if you have, you would realise CX3 is blood tiny and cramped inside whereas X1 is actually very spacious inside for its class.

      Mazda fanchild? Someone who is in the market for an X1 won't be looking at a Mazda. Do some behavioural research before making poorly informed comments

  • @9231tomi

    I always think this type of so called family review is way too restrictive in a way that we don't even get the full comprehensive what actually is family review. Like fuel consumption, how did it go in real world? Or is there a spare tyre or not? There are always things that aren't mentioned like how about the cost of repair/services, the resale value, cost of owning it, etc?

    • @Sevy89
      @Sevy89 Před 5 lety +1

      Spare tyre only as option. Fuel consumption is around 5.2 ltrs/100km for the 18d Xdrive. the petrol will be a bit higher, around 6.5. As for service/repair, since it's a BMW, you'll know it's probably gonna be a bit more expensive than a Honda or something, first service will be the oil check after 1 year or 25.000KM, first vehicle check is after 2 years or 50.000 KM (i believe). Resale value (i was told) after 3 years of use, around 100k KM will sell for around 35K € (new price would be around 50k €).
      If you think too much about money, that's a good sign to not go for a premium brand then. unless you lease it or get one from your work. otherwise stick with the most common brands. Toyota, honda, mazda, nissan, mitsubishi, VW, skoda, ford, etc

      It's personal preference. I'm tired of journo's banging on about digital speedo readouts, as if a car is substandard if it doesn't have one.
      I dislike the constant distraction of ever changing digital readouts, but my wife loves them. Go figure!
