He has used all the old eastern "haveli" type architecture, even the small things like placing "Chiragh" in the walls, although there are not chiraghs any where, but i think you people missed some back area, which was shown in the map, but not in the video, might b some bed rooms
those areas were not in use of family since a long time.
A good project well connected to the surroundings.. I had the chance to have Ma'am Sophia Wanchoo Mir as a teacher in early years of Architecture... A wonderful personality and a great teacher.. May Allah bless you with more of what you want..

Hmmm... Being the Architect-Owner of the place... I would say the area of the 'adaptive re-use' house is Approx 3,200 sft...
... The Area of the total land is about 2 acres...

Beautiful Site ... Natural levels ... The site is so powerful that whatever you will do the space will have signature views ... But the design and interior of this site is very Average .. look at the finishes ... I wish that owner should have more budget for this project ... at least Hire someone for interior ... i mean country house in Islamabad and like this ??? reallyy
it all depends on client's need sir. The client likes it in this way.
Dear Sir, Your comments are respected... and BANJAEGA's comments are truthful... But there are always people who prefer superior quality of LIVABLE spaces than 'Slick finishes' expensive material's ... It is a mind set Sir... Everything is a deliberate attempt to make it a COUNTRY HOUSE...

@@arifmasoud I am interested in your definition of Country House? In the west it’s away from urban environment . This is more of a combination of traditional with influence from the Mediterranean feel.
@@arifmasoud I've seen your house and I can call it a "home" any day. I've seen other Architects works and have recently built my own house. I would take this kind of architecture over the "Tile fiesta" waste of resources any day. Your home is so earthly and have a very low carbon footprint. I guess it would take us 40-50 more years to get back to our own natural ways of construction and realise the beauty is in balance rather than wasting resources. Everyone is entitled to their view but I believe with age and maturity, everyone realises beauty is in design and simplicity, not the materials we use.
Nothing special about the house. interior decor gives a feeling of over stuffed.

This house is renovated from a chicken farm.
the good thing is, the Architect managed to build a house out of the chicken farm, which is cost effective & saved alot of energy & time.
The two hosts are not at all complementing each other. It's really awkward and uncomfortable to watch them contradicting what each other has to say and cutting each other off in the middle of saying something.

I agree. It’s the guy mostly who has to negate everything that the girl says. Or always wants to take the lead, rather than just agree with, or follow her. He is very annoying. I don’t know how she put up with him.

Well it does look cheap copy of a Mediterranean villa. Actually not the house but the view and surrounding. The house is totally surrounded by a landscape and thats usually we dont have in Pakistan
It does give a Mediterranean feel why connect it with being conpelxed ?!some people have to be negative for the sake of it ?!
