    In this episode I'm rebuilding my K- jetronic fuel distributor. It's a part of Bosch K-Jetronic Continuous Injection System (CIS) used on these cars. I got my kit from Missingparts.de. It comes with a detailed instructions and it's pretty straightforward. One of the things I find interesting is that it encourages you not to use any sealant at first as it didn't came with it from factory. I'll add the sealant if it end up leaking. Looks like somebody opened it up before me and managed to lose one of the small filters. I'll have that ordered.
    In the next episode I'll restore the whole unit.. remove the rust, paint it, electroplate the bolts etc.
    Thank you for watching!

    It has come to my attention that there shouldn't be a spring behind the plunger on these cars. So if your car doesn't have one, you're good.

      Great. Thanks for replying- I have a 300SL 1988- the fuel mixture is very rich, keeps fouling the plugs with soot, tried adjusting the mixture screw but no good. Could the fuel distributor need overhauling? The had been sitting for a couple of years - any thoughts please. Thanks

    • @tonyreyes9969
      @tonyreyes9969 Před rokem

      @@donjohnson4368 my suggestion is firstly to check to make sure that the warm control pressure is correct after warm-up. If the control pressure is too low after warm-up the air/fuel mixture will be too rich the whole speed range and that can cause the spark plugs to be flooded with fuel.
