Yeah, most bats go for the generic sports equipment design - overdesigned, bold and bright everything, no attention to composition, but Easton's latest bats like the Black Magic have toned down their designs and they all look so much better for it

Fun fact. There's a carbon fiber lining on the inside of the barrel of the Encore. Meaning that it will break in with a bit of time and create a tad more pop and forgivability. But remains to be seen how much.
That's exactly how the old Zcore/Z2K's were made. Not sure if that will help a BBCOR very much though.
From my understanding and what I've been told, this does not require any break in. Regardless, we had a couple hundred swings on the Encore prior to this video.
But I don't see how the Carbon Fiber lining is going to help the bat in any way in light of BBCOR restrictions. If anything I would think it just makes it more endloaded. That would work great in USSSA, BESR, or 90s tech

Did some bat testing last week with this one, the red one and the yellow one. The yellow one was by far the best. I'd love to see a video where you try all three
Picked up an Encore BBCOR 33/30 for my college player to use as a backup. Turns out the Encore BANGS! My son says it swings slightly heavier than his 33" Guardian, but he loves the pop. Would not hesitate to game it.
He has NOT noticed the feedback issues mentioned in this review. But he is used to the stiffness of a one-piece alloy.

You guys need to use the cat 9 connect v the cat X connect in a exit velo showdown because I want to see how the swing weight and sweet spot can effect a hybrid bat
i dig it. Cat9 Connect would probably win slightly. Mass = Gas. But the CatX Connect is MUCH easier to swing/control.

i’ve had my 2022 goods for the last year and have took over 400 swings with it and it’s still as hot as i got it no durability issue on my end

A solid ranking, i like the hybrid bats but at the same time you can get a one piece alloy which again is basically the same thing. Suprised Easton made this bat after like 3 years.

I’m 16 years old. Never hit a homer with bbcor. I just went to visit my brother at college and we went to hit at the colleges field. (Colorado Mesa University) I got a brand new goods and was hitting with it for the first time. I shorthopped the fence in my first few swings and maybe 30-40th swing the knob popped off. I filed a warranty claim and was told it would be the only replacement I get. Just sad they can’t stand behind their bat

I'd love to see you do a cross over episode. Hitting baseballs with a slowpitch bat and softballs with a baseball bat to see which is a better cross over option. You know just for fun.

Alright Will. Quick question. I'm a contact hitter, but I love swinging a little heavier. I've broken a Rawlings wood 243 (at least I think it was that, I have a Louisville slugger 243 and it had the same barrel size). Trying to get an American batsmith bat. Any bat you recommend from them that's not overly heavy, but still hot? From the different types you've swung from.
Not Will obvioudly, but try something with an Axe handle. Axe and Victus bats have the Axe handle. The grip allows you to put your barrel in the zone that little bit longer
I'd go with a drop 3, cupped, birch (compressed), i13M

In my opinion, you should look at High Density bats. Plenty of local wood bat makers make high density bats. The mass is increased but it's still balanced. You get extra power from the wood density and the extra scale mass but most HD bats also have forgiveness on the hands. The high density also makes it way more durable. Phoenix Bats, Viper Bats, Pommel Bats, B45, etc. They're the ones that I know work on high density bat designs
One last thing Will! I doubt you'll see this, but what handle would you recommend for the i13?
Which cf zen is better the 2021 zen or the 2022 zen?
Hey man I know it sucked last time you tried it, but the 2022 easton speed is marketed to be a lighter bat than the previous green one, with it being under $100 dollars and more accessible to more people I would like to see your opinion on it :)
it seemed like the encore and the goods have the same sweet spot in terms of like where u can make good contact, but the goods is just much more forgiving

My son just broke the end cap on his 31" Voodoo One "Go Figure" & wanted to get a new bat mean while so we went w/ the 31" Select Pwr. Is there going to be a "Big" difference in swing weight between the 2?????
at the 31" length, there should be too much difference. The Select Pwr is a very easy bat to hit with in my opinion. Not too heavy and a super forgiving barrel.
@@baseballbatbros good deal! The reason we went with the select pwr was because he felt the Goods in a 31" & he said it felt pretty light so we figured the select pwr would feel as light if not lighter in that length...

It's is a totally different bat broken in - you need to wack the lower barrell all along to some endos. After 500 balls, it's sweet spot expands like crazy, but inside stuff still hurts, so true. Wear your rubber thummy!

What influence does Rawlings have on Easton since the purchase in 2020? Seems Easton has abandoned some of the technology they were working on like the refinement of the Maxum and have since put out older technology like a redo of the B5 and Black Magic. I know the Maxum was originally old Combat technology but that bat saw a huge following here on the east coast with travel ball and even saw some colleges using the newer Ultra and 360 models.
I think they still operate pretty independently. While those Maxums got some traction, they never really got over that hump of being a "very popular bat". Composite bats are getting tougher to push in BBCOR (such a low usage rate in college baseball), and 1-pc bats are always a little bit of a tough sell with the youth travel ball crowd. Rawlings indeed has some very very interesting bats coming this year. Cautiously optimistic
Maxum 360/combat b2 is my number 1 pick of bbcor composites and one of my favorite bbcors of all time. Easton should still be independent functioning, but now with the ability to use patented tech from rawlings (not exactly something I'd be leaping for joy about)
Heard some HYPE about the new Axe bat two piece....$$$$ but looks legit. Review coming?
