No FGM is not the practice of removing part or all of the female external genitalia for non medical reason. First genitalia is by definition external, second it includes any intended injury to the female genitalia not just that which causes loss of parts. In fact the most common form of FGM is a pin prick or scrape to the clitoral glans resulting in no lost part and no lasting physical injury. Suggesting that these women are on the verge of death is hyperbol. This portrays the 200 million victims of FGM as having had their genitals removed and sewn up while this form extreme infibulation is extremely rare, only an odd percent or two of FGM cases.
Waris Dirie herself had her own child, Aleeka, genitallly mutilated and she even boasted about it in her book Desert Dawn. Her hypocrisy is truly monumental, she is no human rights activist, she insteada fights for women to have special privileges.
