Sabaton actually agrees with you Kel. They don't play it live anymore because they were really uncomfortable with people rocking out to it.
They did an accoustic version on their 2017 tour. The crowd with their phone lights out. singing along.
Where did they say that? I'd love to see the song live.
They do it live as far as ik, but it's not like a moshing song, they do it like how they sing hammer has fallen, lights out, and lighter/phone lights etc in the audience
people rocked out to this song!? Shameful
@@yrm1594 If it was shameful, they wouldn't play it live. There are videos of the acoustic songs.
“Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it."
George Santayana
Which is everyone. People are to afraid to really learn what happened in the past. They only know some things but not the real story, which never is black and white thats why we are doomed to repeat it
for some reason, I remember it being doomed to repeat not condemned.
@@Templarofsteel88 I think it changed a few times. People take it and change it just a little. Thats why it can be said in so many diffrent ways today. And it isnt wrong because it still means the same thing!
As a Jew, this is actually one of my favorite songs. This is something that must never be forgotten, and I praise Sabaton for taking on the subject. Whenever this song comes on my playlists, I never change it - it's heavy, emotional, and sobering.
I just saw Sabaton here in St Petersburg, FL, and I was a little dismayed that they didn't play it, but I understand why. If you ever have a chance to see their show, don't pass it up - it's an energy-filled thrill ride.
For the record, my favorite Sabaton song is Resist and Bite - which they DID play, and it was amazing! You should do that one :) Or Screaming Eagles!
Hello, Jewish friend, I agree with everything you say, a greeting from Italy.
Yuck. They didn’t get enough of you degenerative demons
We can't deny history. We must see it and accept it as it is, mistakes that can never been made again.
Agreed.
Amen
People should not be judged on the mistakes they made, but rather on what they've learned from them.
i totally agree with u, and i think this song was never ment to be rocked..... its just pure history and we all have to make sure that this never ever happens again.. greetings from gemany
This is why we must never censor nazi imagery or any "bad" history of any kind. It's why we can't allow certain political forces to remove statues or artwork because it may "offend". If we start doing that we eventually relegate those events to myth and worse people than us can eventually claim it never happened and use the lack of documented history as propaganda for their own cause, and those mistakes will be made all over again.
Due to entropy of time, history only exists in our memories. Once a moment has passed it'll never come back. Memories and documented history are there to teach us and people who come after us. History exists so we can learn from it.
Censoring history because it may be uncomfortable is an extremely dangerous thing.
It's surprising that people can't tell the subject matter from the title of the song. The Final Solution to the Jewish Question should be a very well remembered term from history classes.
In all honesty...I was hoping it wasn’t.
@@Kel.N.RichReactions Just because History is unplesent it can't be forgotten or it will be repeated. (Mind you it currently is in china........)
Another very sad Sabaton song is Cliffs Of Gallipoli
And Purple Heart
And The Price Of A Mile
En livstid i krig/A lifetime of war
@@pawejesse1335 Yeah, another excellent song about a tragedy, although one not brought about by such horrific evil..
inmate 4859 aswell
I rock it. I sing it. I cry and I get angry! This song is a masterpiece!
Yes sir
I saw this live (the first time they did it in the Netherlands ) they asked the audience and the whole hall stood hand in hand.. respectful (almost) crying.. one of the most powerful experiences of my life
This song was really emotional for me, but the first Sabaton song to made me cry was Angels Calling
Mine was ghost divison. Manly because my great grandfather served in the 7th during the invasion of France, and was awarded the iron cross second class by Rommel
Mine was hearts of iron
Mine was Price of the mile
Mine was no bullets fly
Angels calling is .... hard
This song was meant to hurt. You can almost hear Joakim about to cry in the pre-chorus. This pain is a good thing for the listeners, as people are more able to remember pain than happiness. I pray that this sort of art is spread further around the world. Lest we forget, and history becomes the present once more.
Timestamp?
The song isn't meant to be enjoyed. It's to be endured. That's how I see it, anyway. I've only intentionally listened to it three times now, the third being your video. I check Sabaton playlists for this song, so I can skip it. Not because it's a bad song, but because it's one that makes me stop whatever I'm doing and listen. And think. And know that that kind of evil is so easy to unleash again, and that there are monsters among us that would be all too happy to do so.
The subject matter- no. I'll not whitewash it. The Holocaust is a condemnation against all humanity, and this song is a reminder of of a failure that *must* haunt us for as long a humankind exists. This song forces us to remember that. We can not let freedom burn again. Never again. No matter the cost.
Yes and today in Democracy we live in perfect world. As for what dude did is not only him and that is a fact Americans had forced labour camps Brits as well Russians as well. Was it a crime yea but did so called good nations never do anything like it? Like operation Carpet. Or Russians killing 10k Polish officers or 2 nuklear bombs on Japan yea all non rememberd not talked about. I am no pro Nazi or am I defending them but people forget that we are ruled by these kind of morons and idiots even today. Trump and off you go Russian dude and so on. Now a guy in Belorussia is called dictator and our democracies putting police our on us for this so called virus. So basically you have no freedom now. This tipe of songs are imperativ to be heard in times to remember us in what world we live in. But I guess Americans live in perfect world acting like warmongers and blaming entire planet for their stupidity. America was in more wars then any outher nation in this world after it got its independence. But yea Hollocaus is bad and German people will suffer for crimes they did. I have a question when will UK pay its dues for operation Carpet when will USA pay Japan for 2 nuklear bombs. When will UK and France take a blow and say the truth about who started the WW2. But yea not going to happen beacuse winners wright history we are thought. I also would like to USA come out and say why it was attacked in PH and so on. There is a lot to be talked about and facts and information that people dont know. This song is just that dont let this happn again and it is happening all around the world
I suffer through it. It's one of my favorite pieces, because i makes me cry. I've probably heard it a hundred times now, and every time, sober or otherwise, i tear up. It has that sort of emotional weight that few songs carry, and reminds me what we've gone through, what we've done and what we have to atone for.
The time The Final Solution stops making me cry is the moment i know my soul is dead and gone.
@@rtwiceorb770 As much as the UK and France were wrong for what they did between 1918 and 1939 to the German people, they did not start the war. Did they join of their own free will? Yes. Did Poland? No. They had agreed to protect Poland, and so they did. Chamberlain is mostly to blame for Hitler not being nipped in the bud. Appeasement just let him gain more power, and they should have intervened when Hitler seized power as an absolute dictator. All of this we know with hindsight, and that doesn't excuse their failings. However, I take offense to the idea that Freedom today is gone. Is it in danger? Yes. In the US we're seeing a repeat of the great question : can Federal authority overrule state authority? The answer last time was yes, and this time it will be yes again. Last time resulted in the emancipation of slaves, this time will result in the emancipation of Police officers and the disconnection of law enforcement from local lawmakers. The very idea of a mayor telling the police not to shut down rioting is so un-American that hell must be paid. There will be justice, either through a system that's stood for centuries, or at the end of a gun's barrel.
@@DSiren Poland is at fault to being invaded tho. Germany did say give us danzig aka the land we lost Poland said no got invaded so yes Germanys fault. lets say that same crap happened to Baltic states with USSR or Romannia USSR and Finland USSR but whatever.
@@rtwiceorb770 so you're an appeaser? Note that the international community had already let Hitler annex Austria, take the Sudetenland, and rearm its military - all things disallowed by recent treatises and international diplomacy. It's also clear that Germany was after the "or war" part of "Gdansk oder krieg". So no - it was not the allies fault that the war started. You could blame the US for not pushing the no-reparations-peace, but even then you're being nonsensical.
Hey.
I live in Russia and learn spoken English from your videos. You are very cheerful and kind. Thank you for a fun time
Thanks for doing my request, and yes it is a very powerful song & sad tragic subject ! ....but a lesson we as human beings all must & can learn from!
Even the band realized this song is too heavy to play live, given the subject matter, and stopped doing that for a while. I can't fault the band for making it like this, though. This was still relatively early in their career, and their writing has become much better since then.
They have since made an acoustic version of the song for live performances, and occasionally add it to their live sets again.
I actually was on a concert (here in Germany), where they played the softer version. It was a fascinating and undesirable mood in the whole arena.. Will never forget that feeling.
Sorry, indescribable
Saw them in Antwerp while they played that. It took us away and damn, was it something. The place just went silent.
I actually like this version of the song. The energy in the song and the emotion in their voices just send shivers down my spine. To me it’s a form of expression of a tragic event in a upbeat sound, sort of like the song bullet by Hollywood Undead.
Can't say this is bad tho.
This song just make me get a lump in my throat and make me so sad but it is so important to never forget what happen.
I'd be impressed if anyone forgets about WW2 since it's shoved down people's throats 24/7.
I cry every time I hear it
FYI, Sabaton was just in a vehicle accident in tunisia...as far as we know, they are fine. I believe they were shooting a music video for "Seven Pillars of Wisdom".
Sabaton say in a statement on Facebook: “We are all broken, badly beaten, bleeding and stitched up, but happy to be alive and confident that we will be fully recovered over time.“However, after consulting medical expertise and evaluating all our injuries we are sure that we cannot do the scheduled concert in Poland without risk of consequential injuries.“We will be back with full force in October for the North American tour and will return to Gdansk as soon as possible."www.loudersound.com/news/sabaton-injured-in-car-crash-in-TunisiaGiven the shape of the car they are lucky to be alive.
The tattoo on the left hand הבה נקבל means in Hebrew "Lets accepts" really give the chills with this song
Yes. So deep. ‘Let’s take up ourselves and rise to the challenge’ is the entire phrase on my arm. “Bring it on” is what I wanted to capture.
I guess this was a way for the newer generations to learn about greatest act of evil in all of modern history. We tend to now give it a veneer of it did happen but that is it. The Holocaust happened, and if this song makes people want to learn more about it and why it happened all power to a Swedish band that emphasizes military history. So those that came after Generation Y (born in the 80s) please never forget the atrocities of WWII and what hatred and racism if unchecked can do.
Dude we know about it and i am born in the 90s. Most know about it
The best part of your reaction is moment you realised what it is all about.
What can I say about this song? Well, it made me break down and cry to be honest. Peace to y'all.
i listened to this many years ago, now as im older and actually listening to it and know what the story is behind the lyrics i am indeed in tears.
This horrific story needs to be told and I believe that Sabaton did a fantastic job putting it into music and song. This story should never be forgotten and generations to come must know about the Holocaust, so it must never happen again. 💂♂️💂♂️💂♂️💂♂️🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱🇮🇱🇮🇱🇮🇱🇮🇱🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪

Yea id love to see that one.
Hello. German here.
As someone who has had the Holocaust pretty extensively during my school time and me being also a big history nerd and enthusiats. This song is a very mixed feel.
Like. The overall vibe, the instrumentals and especially the synths in this song are just super good. Very high quality and a very complicated, controverial, yet needed matter to talk/sing/discuss about. The synths in this song are just...They convey perfectly the despair and agony so many people had to endure. The refrain gives me goosebumps. Why... Because its spine-chilling that something like that happened and the heavy feel of the refrain (+the instrumentals) supports this feel almost perfectly. Especially the non-instrumental chorus...Just so, so heavy its almost unbearable. Joakim did also a great job at conveying the feel of millions in his voice. Its not energetic as we are used to. Its not hyped up. Its as if he had a clump in his throat and almsot starts to cry
I like this song, but for different reasons than I enjoy *any* other song. Controversial topics (especially linked so close to my country) are important to talk and sing about. And Im glad Sabaton did make a song about it. We should always remind ourselfes about our history. To deny anyone stupid enough to try and repeat it. To prevent another genocide.
If I had to desribe the feel of the song I would need you to go to the Holocaust Memorial in Berlin (the thick concrete blocks). The atmosphere is eerie, spine-chilling and very, *very* thick. Very unpleasant and you want to leave it when you are standing in it.
If you have the chance to visit it. You should. Because its a experience notexperienced anywhere else, except concentration camps themselfes.
This song is special. I like it, but dont enjoy it. I sing to it, but dont rock to it. They made a really good track for this matter and it captures what you experience when its being talked about.
Theres no shame in liking this song. The intrumentals are just onpoint and Joakim did a great performance. But its very ok if you dont want to listen to it. I for one. Will keep listening to it.
To remind me to help against evils like Hitler and to remind to resist against such things.
Hello, German friend, have you ever talked about the war period, with your parents or with your grandparents?
My great grandma died in the holocaust, my grandma was left an orphan by it. I think this song is good at capturing the horror of what happened and helping remember and preserve it.
Iced Earth - “Clear the Way (December 13th, 1862)” 🤘
Respect to You.... from Poland
I am a German and even if i never had something to do with the atrocities happend in my Country, is still feel guilt, sadness and anger about the past. And as a German you allways gets reminded of it. It is a important Part of History in school and to much people on the Internet still thinking Germans = Nazi. I like the Song, i listened to it many, many times now. And i am still close to tears. I can't possibly imagine how hard this topic must be for jewish people an those who lost Grandparents or other relatives in Times like this. I am deeply sorry for what my ancestors and countymen of this time did back then.
Totally agree. This one was hard to listen to (hadn't heard it before). In the same category are Gallipoli and Fields of Verdun (when you watch the video, just the song isn't quite that heartbreaking). Still, I've seen lots of people comment that they've read more about history after hearing Sabaton's songs, so even this has its place. I got interested in the central figures of the Great Northern War after listening to Carolus Rex, and read the biographies of Karl XII, Armfelt, and Peter the Great, just because of it.
Price of a mile anyone? what
It's not a song to rock out to, it is a grim reminder of the darkest moment in the history of man and to never let it happen again
Hello you two - I hope you are well and you survived the hurricane well.
To the song - it's true that Sabaton don't play this song live anymore, the theme is too intense to see thousands rock to it and have fun.
BUT - it's one of the few bands that takes care of this sad past and turns it into lyrics. And they do this in a very direct language. I'm German myself and I still can't understand how this could happen. It's good that they took up this theme and brought it to the public in this way - but it's a song that's meant for the home and not for festivals. You can think about it at home and draw your own conclusions of this time - and make sure that it never happens again!
Thank you for your reaction
You guys should have watched the schindlers list version, thats epic
Mighty Sabaton! Just Humans are capable to do something like this to others... but still happening... Human Nature. BUT IT'S PURPLE HEART FROM SABATON! EVERY MEMORIAL DAY I PLAYED ALL DAY TO REMEMBER ALL THE FALLEN AROUND THE WORLD, SPECIAL HERE IN LONG ISLAND NY. AT AIR SHOW, BLUE ANGELS OR THE THUNDERBIRDS...
Awsome when i track give u those feeling... love when the lyrics means something
WOW,a very powerful song. I've seen the horrors of man's inhuman reactions to his fellow brother. For some reason there is always that one person or group of people willing to destroy life, senselessly. Just this week, proves my point. It reminds me of a 1940's - 1950's tune "Strange Fruit"by Billie Holiday, czcams.com/video/Web007rzSOI/video.html It is a blues tune well worth listening to - at least once.
If you listen to this song and don't know what it is talking about - ask me and I will explain.
I'm waiting for Sabaton to do a song regarding The Red Famine, and Communist China's "Great Leap Forward" both of which had higher body-counts then The Holocaust.
I would like them to make a song about operation Carpet which I guess they will never do or maybe they did but I didnt catch it. This was a crime as well in war times regardless.
I think its important to not forget about what happened in that time, and its being silenced to death for way too long, so long that in fact the very same stuff becomes an unironical topic again in german politics. People gathering up once again with the same evil intent just as back in that time. so yes I think it is VERY important for people with reach like Sabaton to let people wake up from the dream theyve been living in. The ghost of the past is still very very present.
On a sidenote: what a sick song this is. Just love how they approached it
Remember. History doesn't repeat itself. But it rhymes.
great vibe for a final solution.
In all seriousness, Sabaton completely agrees with you. its about their only song they dont want to play live, because they dont feel comfortable with people rocking it out.
History must be learned. Even if it is horrible, we must learn from it. Good song and very deep
One of the things I really like about this band, is they are very oriented to world war II and the brave armies that defeated the nazis.
Look at inmate 4859 by Sabaton
I agree with your reaction to this song. It is so sad that the world seems to headed in that direction again, by that I mean there are some in power that are stirring up hatred, and it is happening in all countries.
I just finished the video for this song, Sabaton - The Final Solution [Schindler’s List] and it is very emotional.
This song nearly brought me to tears fist time hearing it. Still does
We need to write a song, actually anything to make us remember. If we are bored no one will remember. Yes everyone need to remember a car accident, you need it in your brain when you are driving. Same as anything in your your life.
People are too soft these days you can see it now
with this virus.
I personally listened to this song for about 6 - 7 times through last hour. To me, its memento of victims of holocaust and lyrics are written in their honor. I love the tunes, the heavy theme and how they interpreted it.
Hey, maybe i am masochist, or mentaly damaged, but i will gladly listen to it again, just to honour the memory of them.
Sabaton Songs: the white dead, the read baron, final solution, uprising
We must remember lest it happen again
Historical note: it didn't start with Kristallnacht - by them, thousands of my fellow Disabled people had been exterminated in "hospitals". They were the test subjects for the Final Solution. Nobody seems to remember them. We were the "Untermensch", the "useless eaters" outlined in propaganda designed to get families with Disabled relatives to give them up - and it worked. The SS had to turn away applications from doctors eager to "help". 😢
And Basingstoke is pronounced "bay-zing-stoke".
Another fun fact. Even after the Kristallnacht polish jews fled from Poland to Germany cuz the polish treated them soo badly
@@chrisigoeb any proof of that?
Defintly do a great war album reaction
So, I don't know either of you, saw the tattoo on your right arm and said, "Welp, this'll be an interesting reaction." I completely agree with the two of you. This song serves as a reminder, as a caution and a warning. I feel like Sabaton does a really good job of the material, even in the composition of the song. Sabaton almost never does a purely vocal fade-out like they do in this song, and they usually reserve it for songs like this.
Thank you for the excellent analysis, even though it was obviously incredibly emotional for you.
That song is a eulogy and it needs to be listened too, it can't be forgotten because more than a few people deny that it even happened and that is almost a bigger crime as to forget means it could happen again
Gives me chills every time
welcome back..u guys are safe...now we rock on...
Someone else actually pointed out to me on another video that the guitar riff that plays through most of the song sounds like a train on tracks.
Just think about that for a second.
yeah in an interview they said that was intentional
History shouldn't repeat itself

Learn history people! Listen to Sabaton.
This is a great song... There are tons of others that are even better and the new album is pretty killer too...
Check out The Last Stand by them. Killer tune!!
Indeed! ! 👍
It’s hard to say I enjoy the song because of the implications of the lyrics but I enjoy the brutal honesty and the music itself.
It came true..
Joakim's biggest fear, headbanging to "The Final Solution"
Amazing reaction, but please no headbanging to this song.
It is about the holocaust a really sad memorial song of theirs, my granddad on dad's side lost all his brothers and sisters in the holocaust. He himself managed to survive by hiding.
My other grandparents were young children too back then. (Around my little brother's age, 9 to 14, my little bro is 12) I am 16 and this song is for sure one I will bring towards the future generations.
May we never forget the horrors of WW2, I am going to ask my grandparents for stories of the war once this crisis is finally over!
Hi, I'm sorry for your losses, I don't understand how there can be people who minimize or even deny the holocaust, hoping that humanity will never forget what happened, and that it never happens again.
Greetings from Italy.
P.S. you are very mature for your age, that's good.
I find it hard to understand how you say you don't want to listen to the song again - as this, The Final Solution, being my favorite song for many years now. There's just nothing that comes close to it regarding the power of both the music and the story behind it.
I highly recommend songs from the super group Cain's Offering, such as "Rising Sun", "My Queen of Winter", and "I Will Build You a Rome".
I will build you a rome is a Great song 🙂👍
As much as I appreciate this song for the story it tells, it's not a song I would request. That said I do love the song and the melancholy in they way they play it does make it a brilliant track. They also don't play it live as much because it's a bit of a mood killer, and it is probably their most controversial song ever recorded
The world moves on.
Mot people, at least here in Sweden actually didn't rock to it but light their lighters slowly in respect (not their phones) to it. Sadly some asses rocked to it, sad since it is a great song really
The guitars are meant to resemble trains in motion, also the lead singer rarely does this song live, mostly out of respect ,because of the song content, but whenever he does song it, he can't do it without cryinf
Sabaton are very much about, lest we forget.
When this song hit's You, I HIGHLY recomended story video of song Night Wiches. It says the story of Soviet woman unbelievable bravery. Trust me this song can hit You on the highest note.
Sorry for my bad english
One of the many reasons why music is so important. Music has always told the story of humanity. Before history books there were stories and music. The stories told in songs allow those moments to live forever.
Where did you guys go? Did you get blocked or something? Hope you both are well!

Pfft this song is awesome
Should've watched one of the several fan made music videos for the song. Helps to give context and reinforces that feeling this song gives you. Also, a modern day Holocaust is occurring right now in China. Just look up "Chinese persecution of Uyghurs" and you'll find what I'm talking about.
I understand why they don't play it live anymore, but imo it would be a good thing if they did. Just have Joakim or Par come out beforehand and let the audience know that this was being played in memory of the dead or something along those lines.
Live they do it in acoustic and everyone lites their phones or lighters
Ex-Deo is another great historical metal .But them is about Centurion,Emperor,Roman,Cesar...a good song is “The Roman”
Shalom
I know it's hard to continue listening to songs that tell a terrible story, but that's the purpose of Sabaton. I know by now you probably know that the purpose of their group is to tell a story. The Final Solution was a horrible even that the Nazi's were responsible for, and hopefully it won't ever happen again. This one song was probably really hard for them to play as well. I agree with you, the first time I heard it, I was a little uncomfortable, and I felt upset at what happened to those millions of people some 80 years ago. We will never forget them.
