The starship Equinox is under attack from Stormlord and his robotic minions,
the Exolons! You’re the crew’s only hope. Take your Samurai-1 fighter, find
Captain Solomon’s Key, clear the decks of evil robots, and save the Equinox
from certain destruction!
Cecconoid is an 8-bit inspired, flick-screen, twin-stick-shooter, set in an
alternate dimension where the pixels are still chunky, and the bad guys are
black and white.

quite reminiscent of cybernoid
Cybernoid was made by Raffaele Cecco, so not hard to imagine why Cecco...noid eventually came to be :)
@@disasterincarnate It's a tribute to Cecco and the cybernoid style of game - by the way Cecco did also Exolon, that was not that more playable

Its what the original PC game had, so its only fair the port stays as true to it as is possible within the possibilities of the target platform hardware
Well, the point is exactly that this game sacrifices color for all those graphical effects
The colour was so naughty I had to put it ALL in a hidden room along with similar comments.. 😂
@@mortenera2294it doesn't sacrifice anything. The original game on modern PC is like that. The Amiga port stays true tonthe original game.
The game is very good with excellent special effects. I like the explosion animations. Just the music is annoying..
For dubstep and DnB fans definitely; however it fits the action very well

what amiga version/kickstart? its meant for any a500'alike setup at 512k chip + 512k chip or fast amigas, preferably kickstart 1.3. if you bought on itchio theres recently been a whdload version added which can be run from workbench and works very well.

Shame about getting graphics inspiration from the worst 8-bit version of Cybernoid though : the Spectrum one. Amstrad CPC was the best looking. C64 was nice, with legendary music too.
Spectrum fans really need to understand that nobody else has a weird fetish for monochrome sprites.

its a variant of the Spectrum version i think because the creator of Cybernoid is Raffaele Cecco and i think he created it for the speccy while Nick Jones made the c64 port, Cecco..noid is therefore a version of the creators og version, which is the speccy and thats what we get :)
@@disasterincarnate Rafaelle Cecco also did the Amstrad version himself which is 10x better looking. It might even have been the og ? Same for Exolon and Stormlord. Check them out ! The Spectrum doesn’t do Cecco's work justice.

Lazyport from spectrum for AGA chipset. Yet somehow looks like fun. And at least it exploits the Amiga's 4 channel PCM Paula sound chip thoroughly to play thumping stereo soundtrack

Oh my... Where to start... This is not a Spectrum port, doesn't need AGA and is an awesome version of the PC game it was based on.
