- Thrift Shopping at Goodwill is a great place to search for vintage and home decor. Thrift with me in Albany Oregon for beautiful vintage jewelry and antiques. Today, my Mother and I shop together at a local thrift store and giant antique mall in hopes of finding some unique antique oil painting or artwork for my Victorian home!

That rod you used to hang the bathing beauty artwork was perfection!!! The artist would be SO thrilled to see his or her work hung in such a gorgeous way.
I agree with you, people who just get a whole room decorated at once miss out on the joy of adding a special piece one at a time. When we were first married we couldn’t afford to do it all at once and we were blessed to enjoy every item we added; it was like the room was new with each treasure we added.
My mother who is 96 loves to go with me thrifting. She lives in Co. now in a memory care, and I took her out today to GW and she had a smile on her face! I love seeing you with your mom!
I couldn’t help smiling when your mom found the shirt made from a tablecloth…. My mom would buy super soft sheet sets and make pants! She called them her sheet pants 😂. She said they were the most comfortable pants she owned! I miss her everyday! Watching you and your mom , makes me feel like I’m shopping with her again ❤️

@@Melody-285 This month is 35 years since I lost my mom, she was only 60. We used to have so much fun together. I, too, sometimes get a lump in my throat watching some of these. Love watching Selena and her mom .
Pete is also a keeper. He is so cute when he is catering to your many whims, and showing how excited he is when he is hanging your pretties.
... and ... Helena DID go digging up an Oregon beach with him :) thibgs shpuld flow both ways shouldn't they. I think they make a beautiful couple :)

Selena, so happy that you finally thrifted the painting of your dreams. It is so beautiful!
I am concerned about the pinch hooks you are using at the top; over time they could leave holes or even tear loose. A suggestion: find a wide, fairly thick ribbon or piece of brocade, fold in half and iron. Slip the crease over the top of the painting, then use the pinch hooks to grasp the fabric and the painting. Would still check every so often. Might also be able to research a system specifically made to hang your painting.

So much fun thrifting with you and your mom-Bratittude, Dadittude and Momittude, LOL! I'd love to see a tablescaping video, perhaps on the patio-mixing and matching different thrifted dishes, or perhaps indoors for your modern take on a victorian formal dinner. It seems like thrift stores are just packed with sets of china waiting to be rescued!
To me the painting looks like, especially looking at the material the painting is on, an oil painting. Which would definitely fit the estimated timeframe in which she was painted. Oil paint has been around for a very long time

I used to be bad for neglecting my plants, until I made it a rule that every Thursday I watered all my plants, now I don't kill them. I love that painting, and did you notice that the main colour is the colour you were looking at all day, that kind of sage green.
I like to think of our homes as our nest where we surround ourselves with beautiful things that make us feel good.
Have you ever watched a bird gather sticke for itS nest? They will pick a stick up .. lok at it, twist it this way and that before deciding it is a reject or suitable... so cute!

Selena-I so enjoy watching you and Mom go antiquing \ thrifting. I used to go alot when my husband was alive. But my sweetheart died of cancer recently. I don't live amongst we"hunters" of a treasure. People would ask us what were looking for and we'd always say we're looking for a Three Handed Moss Covered Family Credenza. People would look at us like we were nuts and had no idea what this item would look like. Well we did'nt either. It was our code for "we'll know it when we see it." I'm 66yrs young and I still love the hunt for a Three Handed Moss Cover Family Credenza. I hope you find yours. Mary

Lovely video!! Im so happy for you Selena! I was obsessed with Pre-Raphaelite paintings when I was a teenager and my mum decorated my room based around a William Waterhouse print. I wish I'd had your painting then!! She looks so beautiful, that's the perfect spot.
We've just finished our 1930s/40s kitchen and it's the exact colours your Mom has in mind. I managed to find a utility unit and green bakelite handles too, sooooo happy. It's taken us 11 years to get everything together but I think it's finally finished ☺️

That was a Hoosier cupboard with an attached pantry( the long cupboard) those are actually quite rare.not many found with the pantry.

I wasn’t that thrilled at first when you unrolled the painting however, with the rod and the rings and up on the wall, she is stunning. It actually took my breath away! Great, great job! I’d love to see more of your glorious garden. I know you have referred to it as small, but I think it is just the perfect size. Would love to see it in full bloom with maybe a garden brunch. I love the painting for your space. I wanted to point out that it is likely “inspired” by Art Nuevo from the late 1800s, but since acrylic paints weren’t developed until the 1934 it would have been painted anytime after.
It is in the style of the Pre-Raphaelites.

Your Mom and I do the same thing. We find thrift things for other people but rarely find anything for ourselves. I get excited too, like with the jump suits(?). I would have purchased the tablecloth jacket though, so sweet. I also don't want anyone to ding my car while parked or cut in front of me! Makes me cranky. I would like to see a tour of your home especially upstairs. I love lamps, rugs, chairs and mirrors. Also looking forward to spring in your garden. Loved last year's garden fix. I took my Mom to the hospital this morning for blood work, got her all settled back home, and did about an hour of thrifting at Goodwill. This Friday, my friend and I are planning a huge day of thrifting since we both have the day off school. We are starting in a small place that sells 7 items for $1.00 on Fridays. I would love to add the horse tote to my collection! It may not be as fabulous as your hanging, but sometimes it’s the little things in life that make you happy. 💖

I love thrifting with my mom too. So much fun. If we won a lottery, I’m sure we’d still thrift because the thrill of the hunt is to fun and rewarding. Most of my home decor is thrifted as well as many of my furniture pieces. I love your new painting. It’s perfect for that spot! ❤️ A good suggestion for a plant is the snake plant. They can go without water for 2-3 weeks in case you forget.

Congratulations on your find ! It fills the vibe/ theme you adore . Painting on fabric can feel soft if you mix textile medium with acrylic paint . Also , I've found that using filtered water is the only way my inside plants will live .Something in the tap water 🚰 is a no no ! I wasn't sure about the nude until you hung it on the wall. She's stunning! I too have struggled with colors and style for my home. I'm the opposite on the color spectrum, give me the dark and moody color schemes. Recently I painted my living room a dark emerald green. It's such a calming change from the golden wheat color that was there before. My home is 120 yrs old with stained quarter sawn oak woodwork. Pastels just didn't do it justice. Our homes are an ongoing process, we never stop decorating them. Anyhow, I'm glad I found your channel! Such a joy to watch you shop with your Mom! ❤

I absolutely love jumpsuits, too! They are easy to wear & look "pulled together". Loved the Josef Originals birthday dolls! They are still highly collectable. I also loved the Vera Bradley purses, they are also very collectable, I know a lot of resellers who would have bought them all! :) Finally- your new painting is everything! I am so happy for you!
