- What if the first World War, rather than ending in a Triple Entente victory as in our timeline, or in a Central Powers victory as others have speculated, instead had no definitive winner, the Great War ending in a stalemate.

What if Australia won the Emu War
The displaced Emus, desperate and broken, establish a fascistic state to reclaim their homeland and forcibly remove the Aussies. Of course, Japan backs the Emus in exchange for a portion of Australia. Germany, recognizing Emu's as the master race of bird, supports them in their goal of establishing legitimate rule in their domain, and annexing the Kiwis.

Here's a dark alternate history: What if Chernobyl wasn't detected in time by other countries and as a result was not stopped, resulting in the radiation spreading across all of Eastern Europe?
I'd really need to look into that one.
I'm kinda confused, what do you mean by "detected"? Do you mean if the Russians hadn't told anyone about it and kept that massive fucking explosion that killed thousands secret? Because radiation did spread all over Europe, they sealed it off later on after the brave sacrifice of several Russian teams turned the reactor off. So what your saying is if the reactor wasn't turned off and for some reason they didn't bother to do anything about it? Thats interesting but makes no sense, the Soviets knew what would happen if they didn't stop it so they basically told their guys that if you don't do this were all fucked, even if it means you die so them not bothering to do anything bout Chernoble is just bonkers not to mention the reaction the rest of the world would have if the societs just let that thing sit around and spew radiation into their nations.
@@twojacksandanace3847 I think the more interesting version would be if the predicted second explosion had occurred and the 500km dead zone occured (rather than the current 30km exclusion zone). This second explosion was pretty likely and was only averted due to the sheer resources dropped onto the reactor, and the tunnels made to secure its underside. It's interesting as the 500km dead zone would be in the heart of the USSR and would have huge knockon effects across the world

I personally feel the treaty is so heavily favoring the Entente over the Central alliance. Germany loses all overseas colonies, Italy gains land across the Adriatic and Albania, and the Ottomans still get carved up. While the only gain the Central alliance gets is Germany gains a little land in the Baltic’s even though they should have had their separate treaty with Russia.
This would be essentially a status-quo treaty with all gains during the conflict remaining. The allies had already taken the German colonies in Africa and New Guinea and so would be extremely reluctant to return them.
It would essentially be a permanent armistice
@@dertery8724 I mean, Lettow-Vorbeck was still a pain in the ass for the Entente throughout the entire war. Also, I doubt Germany would give up their colonies that easily, I see them being reduced but not fully taken.

Bulgaria was not defeated by Greece. There was a very strong Anglo-French contingent in nowadays Greek Macedonia. The Bulgarians were repeatedly attacked with overwhelming force in 1916, 1917 and 1918 until the breakthrough in late 1918. Interestingly enough, the collapse of the Bulgarian front was not the final battle there. The British rushed forward through southern Bulgaria but were soundly defeated. The Bulgarians then agreed on conditional surrender. They would allow Entente troops through their territory but Bulgaria proper was not to be occupied.

Italy would need to pump in good troops to help Greece magically beat Bulgaria. The other Balkan allies of Greece wouldnt be in such borders and the Serbs wont do a thing. Italian soldiers wont do shite to Bulgarian army unless they come in quantity of 600k with Greek army too. Even then its debatable they would win.
Wtf
I love the thought of "what if" with all of these alternate history scenarios. When you change the outcome of a certain event, you can "probably" predict what is likely to happen in the days and weeks afterward. The problem becomes exponentially more difficult to predict what will happen in the months and years to follow. There are just too many possibilities to account for, including outcomes no one has thought of yet. Even with the help of super computers and an artificial intelligence, we would probably be somewhere if the neighborhood of 60% accurate. It is still fun to postulate though, and I will keep watching the videos. Thank you very much for all of the hard work and thought you put into making this particular video possible.
Southern front was broken by combined forces of Serbia, Greece, France, and Brittan, not just Greece.

Italy needs back up from other European powers. Greece wont be doing shite to Bulgaria in this alternative. A 200k Greek army at time could be smoked by 150k Bulgarian army. Bulgaria traditionally raised up far larger army in timeline. With a general win its population could be nearly twice of Greeks population. Other Balkan allies? Yeah nonexistent Yugoslavia and a nobody Romania. Greece becomes great. It magically happens that Bulgaria has no ally anywhere and the Italian peasants get what they want wherever they like.

Idea: What if Harald Hardrada defeats Harald Godwinson, then William the Conquerer in 1066?
I used to run a board set up for geopolitical with members role playing as each nation in this period. The scenario of a stalemated ending to the Great War was the most interesting of the games we ran. Germany stagnated. Austria-Hungarian crumbled piece by piece in the 1920's. Poland became something of a power especially when the War with Russia went even better than in the Historical Timeline. Italy absorbed bits of the Balkans over time until it caused a new Balkan War in the 1930s. Russia in this world went White not Red and fought with the Balkan nations against Italy, while most of the world sat out. The Ottoman Empire was dismembered by Britain and France while no was looking and the Washington naval Treaty never happened. The US stock markets blew up in 1923 instead of 1929. Japan was neck-deep in China 10 years sooner than was normal but got caught short with the 1923 earthquake, stagnating them in every area. Germany retained the Colonies after the war, changing the Pacific dynamic completely.
6:42 Greece is always forgotten and underestimated, but its participation played a key role in the course of both World Wars
I like how Netherlands and Japan are just chillin' :D

@@MonsieurDean make a reboot where much of A&H remains. Greek empire? It's a joke. It must be a huge Italian army attacking Bulgaria. At such alternative where Bulgaria gets the land it held at the time it would have no neightbour except Turkey being able to match its army size. The Serbs will be dead out of war for next 15 years since they wont be Yugoslavia but half size. Plus stop bullshiting here with these so called Free states. A stalemate in 1916th to 1918th or so means a general win for central powers. They lose overseas colonies but gain territory at expense of Russia and some to France and on Balkans A&H and Bulgaria be sharing a fine cake. The Ottomans would be the only loser there since they were being pushed so much while non other was like that bad from central powers.
Alt-Alt history-
So there’s a browser game where you alter world events and mess with the timeline. One thing you can do is extend ww1 to basically the 1000 year war. Obviously absurd as it’s supposed to be but that gives the idea of what if the war just settled into a less aggressive war and the trenches became the new borders basically. Eventually with the static borders but perpetual fight might either lead to shifts in combat technology or tactics by countries or a shift to espionage or civilian economies to try to make their nation the most self sufficient, efficient, and stable nation on the principle that something is bound to happen with time and your trying to survive the long haul but in terms of lifetimes. I could maybe see different nations evolving down different routes. UK might attempt to make a static defense around the North Sea by building sea platforms to act as sub detection and a defense bastion and well avoiding the inevitable constant loss of life from ship based blockades. France might plan to take control back of their lost territory in the long run so possibly to secretly thwart trenches they would dig underground tunnels below a detectable range, then planning mass explosions below entire lines of trenches. Germany would I suspect invest in civilian industry due to the blockade and try to suffice for their shortages. As Russia would peace out and likely become communist as the other powers are preoccupied, they may make faster advances in increasing the standards of living and general well being as they would interact much less with the war. To round it off for this to happen the US would have to likely not intervene so it may simply sell to the waring powers and maintain great economic growth threw weapon profiting and as they may end up interacting the most with any of the warring factions they may be the hotbed for intelligence and espionage. This is a fairly unrealistic idea but I just liked the concept so wanted to mention it.

I don't think that without german and italian support, the nationalist side would have won the civil war in Spain. The Republic had superior resources, manpower, and had the support of the Soviet Union. Also, France and Great Britain were keen on the idea of supporting it, but ultimately they did not to avoid conflict with germany. With this possibility out of the picture, I think that the republic would have gained a lot more of external support, and combined with superior manpower, control of the most important cities, and more resources, the republic would have probably beaten the nationalists. In our timeline, the republic started winning the war at the beginning, and it wasn't until the battle of the ebro (I think) that the tides were changed. So, taking this into account, I believe that the republic would have mostly won under these circumstances
Thats almost correct except the part you say the repiblic was winning, they were in a stalemate for the most, but with the foreing intervention the war sided to thw natiomalist side
Even a 1000 years after Rome fell, a bunch of Germanic bois still defeat a great Latin power
What website do you use for your maps?
The US didn't change the tides to the west. The invention of the tank changed the tides to the West, the US troops made little to no difference to the victory in the war, unless the war continued for several years the US troops wouldn't have made a difference. While the threat of American troops were a reason for peace, it wasn't impactful to the war itself
What if Japan becomes the colony of the USA and What if Japan won at the battle of Khalkhin Gol? Also, the what-if Korean Empire survives?

Bulgarian front was broken by combined forces of France, GB and Greece. And there was fighting on this front even before Greece entered officially the war.

What if futurism replaces fascism, aka the red flood timeline

I like to imagine Filippo Tommaso Marinetti, famous Italian poet and founder of the Futurist Party as leader of Italy in this. Let's say futurists become a big movement and take power in Italy and establish a dictatorship. That would inspire futurist movements in all the world, just like fascism and bolshevism did with their own ideology. It would be a fascism looking forward to the future instead of backward to the past. Its hard to predict a lot, but I'm sure they would do many crazy laws and things
Ivan F. It’s more crazier, look into the lore, no one won ww1, and France collapsed and some batshit crazy actor control and turned into a futurist state where he faces many rivals and let me not get into russia

good sir I am afraid that you have greatly ignored the fact that this was to be a stalemate scenario and by the point in time you have the treaty both sides had been so indoctrinated by the propoganda of their home lands that a lack of victory would lead to civil un rest and likely civil wars in ALL of the participating nations and germany would likely have found movments simillar to the spartacus uprising , and Bavarian Socialist up rising happening earlier , esspecially with the soviets being supported by the germans
