      @TheSolidheroes Před rokem +6

      @@rebelliousredneckvlogs Hey friend hope your day is good if you knew Bruce’s biography you would’ve known that before becoming a movie star when he was still a teenager he was a street fighter in Hong Kong. He was kicked from several schools because he was always fighting. He challenged anyone who did any form of martial arts to fight against him. Bruce began as a street fighter not as an actor. He did the same in America challenging karate masters black belts anyone and no one could beat him. This is before he made movies. So be very careful when you open your mouth and speak nonsense. Dan Inosanto Bruce’s first student told about one Karate Master who saw a Kungfu demonstration Bruce gave on campus (he was a student) and the Karate master called him out saying he wanted to fight Bruce to proof he didn’t know how to fight. Bruce took the challenge and they met off campus and Inosanto who timed the fight said within ten seconds Bruce had the guy against the wall both arms broken and Bruce was smashing his face in they had to stop the fight and bring the guy to a hospital. I’ve heard many keyboard warriors like you saying Bruce is just an actor. I myself have been trained in Martial Arts foremost Shao Lin kungfu- our sensei advised us to watch Bruce’s movies and study his movements because there is just no one better at it then him. Have a great day.

    The idea of a seasoned stuntman of ‘60’s Hollywood who mainly body-doubled for Rick Dalton on such statically western and post-WWII American cinema not only going toe to toe with Bruce Lee but mastering martial arts to that degree is implausible and a poorly conceived mishandling of what wasn’t a commonplace skill of someone who lived in that era of filmmaking.
    Lee was an early influencer and pivotal figure in presenting martial arts as more than just a trendy novelty exercise to a curious campus of Americans. He is potentially the fuse that set off the explosion of KungFu and the Asian influence on the action genre. Someone like Cliff Booth wouldn’t even know how to keep up with Bruce in combat and would’ve most likely been inspired by Lee himself to learn the culture. It wasn’t until long after the green hornet tv show that Bruce ventured off to the Asian film market and created some legendary pictures that sparked an American cultural fascination with martial arts and Chinese/Cantonese cinema.
    It was probably easier to find a pro-war hippie than a KungFu trained stuntman.

      are you implying cars were more sturdy back in those times...cuz that's very wrong. Not saying the dent isn't exaggerated, but if you were to dent it like that it would be arguably easiest with those cars and at that exact spot. (the door is mostly hollow and protrudes outwards very far, that's pretty much the only type of door that allows such a big dent to form without damaging the frame)
      These cars are not sturdy at all, in fact they are deathtraps for relatively minor accidents where even at low speeds the whole front of the car would crumple into the front seat...a semi hitting that car at 35mph would crush it like a can

    This scene was partly based on Lee's experiences with stuntman and legit bad ass Judo Gene Lebell. Bruce wasn't pulling his kicks or punches on the set of the Green Hornet. Stuntmen would quit do they brought Gene in. Truth...if Gene grabs a hold of Bruce... Gene wins. If not, Bruce wins. They became friends, and Gene trained Bruce in some cacc and judo. Gene was known to be the baddest man on the planet at one time. R I P

    The fight with a stuntman is very loosely based on an incident between Bruce Lee and Judo Gene LeBelle. According to LaBelle he got Lee in a hold with Lee on LaBelle’s back. Lee is mad as hell and yelling that he’s going to kill LaBelle when he gets loose. LaBelle is running around with Lee on his back saying he can’t let go of Lee because if he did Lee would kill him. Eventually LaBelle lets Lee go. The two become friends with LaBelle teaching Lee grappling and Lee teaching LaBelle Jeet Kune Do.

    Just glad going by the comments here, most people feel Tarantino’s Bruce Lee portrayal was way beyond unfair. Bruce Lee wasn’t the superman some of his fans make him out to have been, but he was a far more decent and humble man than this lousy character here.
    Besides it’s on record that he said he could never have beaten Ali- that Ali was just too fast despite his large size, for a small guy like him.
