I was about to explode! I went through the entire range of emotions a person can possibly go through! I had to shut up so she can experience it just like we did all those years ago!!!!
I saw that and absolutely loved it! She kept looking at him for a reaction, but he wasn't giving her anything. He let her experience it all for herself in real time just like we did way back when!

Exactly! I’ve seen similar videos of other couples were the girl reacts like she did, and then the boyfriend would reply to everything she says to a point they constantly talk over what they’re reacting to. This guy here handled it perfectly by not responding to her hence the reason why her first time reaction is golden.

There are two phrases that fit Goku's first ever transformation into a Super Saiyan perfectly: *"There are three things all wise men fear: the sea in a storm, a night with no moon, and the anger of a gentle man."* and the other phrase: *"Demons flee when a good man goes to war."*
Plus, the build-up to this moment was done perfectly. We are only given hints about it, while any further information remains vague, primarily through Vegeta's internal monologues and thoughts referencing the old legend. First, Vegeta mentions the legend of the Super Saiyan after witnessing Goku wiping the floor with Recoome, even hinting that Goku himself could have become that legendary warrior. Then there's Vegeta's clear obsession with said legend hinting that it really may be more than a mere legend or myth. We see Vegeta mention the legend several more times, deluding himself that *he* will be the one to achieve the form, only for Frieza to snuff out Vegeta's hopes at bringing that legend to life by ruthlessly killing a battered, broken, and defenseless Vegeta. But then we see Goku holding his own even against Final Form Frieza, a feat that not even the newly revived and empowered Piccolo could achieve, only for it to later be revealed that Frieza is *still* holding back severely and isn't even using 1% of his full power, suddenly tipping the scales back into his favor heavily, forcing the team to pin all of their remaining hopes on Goku's Spirit Bomb. And yet, even the Spirit Bomb is insufficient to end Frieza, who then mercilessly strikes down Piccolo, before he then turns his attention to the defenseless Krillin, and before the horrified eyes of the helpless Goku & Gohan, Frieza mercilessly slaughters him.
And then....it finally starts to happen. Goku displays more rage and anger than we've ever seen from him, we see him turning almost.... *feral* out of sheer rage and fury. The usually laid-back, cheerful, and gentle Goku absolutely seething with fury and outrage as the skies begin to darken, lightning arcs down from the clouds, and the surrounding seas begin to churn. And then Goku unleashes a scream of primal and unrestrained fury as he's enveloped in a golden light, and then we finally see for the first time the birth of this legendary "Super Saiyan" that Vegeta had been so desperately pinning his hopes on....in Goku. With Goku having become, in a way, an "avatar" of vengeance....for Vegeta, for Krillin, for the Saiyan race, and for all of the other helpless lives and worlds Frieza had mercilessly slaughtered without the slightest shred of remorse. And for the very first time, we finally get to see an expression of pure undisguised *fear* and *terror* on the face of the usually smug and arrogant Frieza.
All of that build-up was done perfectly, and that is what made this moment so special, especially to those of us who grew up watching it as kids and teens.
Baris brother, I'm turning 30 on July 30, you're almost as old as I am, and we older people have to admit that this anime is the foundation and root of all Shonen copies that are known today, and that for us as members of the older generation, this to be an irreplaceable series no matter how old this classic is and no matter how old we are 💪

I remember this like it was yesterday. I was in the 7th grade, roughly 12-13 years of age. It was a Thursday afternoon, DBZ aired M-Th on Toonami, I forget what replaced it on Friday’s. He went SSJ, and we all had to wait till Monday to see what happened, as the episode ended when he transformed and looked at Frieza. DBZ has been apart of my life as much as Pokémon, and my damn family.
Goku :Frieza! Stop this! Krillen : Goku!!! Help me! (Krillen goes boom) Frieza: Pop goes the weasel. Goku: I won't let you get away with this. I won't let you....(lightning goes whush whush, hair starts to change color)
Greatest television moment of my childhood. I sat in front of the tv and refused to leave the room for hours before the episode even aired just to make sure I didn't miss anything.

Dude, I remember seeing this for the first time in 3rd grade after school in my bedroom. I dropped my homework off the top bunk when my jaw hit the floor. My language arts book landed on my step brothers game of Crossfire and scattered the bbs all over the room.

This episode has so much going on that I kind of forgot how wild it was that in Goku's greatest triumph Piccolo comes full circle and takes a hit for him after being his enemy
That scene is my top favorite scene in all of DBZ and this episode is my favorite along with the original Toonami version of "Ginyu Assault"! Madison's reactions to the transformation were awesome ("did he just get struck by lightning" 😂) and you're awesome for not saying a thing and just looking dead into the camera at key moments lol. Question: before this, did Madison ever ask you why the figurenes of Goku you have back there look the way they do? 😂
She didn’t know it was Goku! Towards episode 86, she started to realize that it may have been him as a super saiyan but it wasn’t confirmed until this episode! Goku had black hair for 95 episodes straight and the physical appearance of a super saiyan was never described in the show :)

Goku turning into Super Saiyan for the first time was insane, BUT do you remember when Goku drank Super God Water? i started to watch Dragon Ball again, and that scene, when Great Ape appear for a moment and Korin noticed power up of Goku, is one of the best i have seen!

Bro you are a legend in controlling emotions. I could see you struggling when Goku's hair turned golden for a moment. I was a 5 year old kid when it first aired on TV. My Dad and me watched it and we were screaming alot when it happened. It's the greatest moment in all of anime history in my book.
