There is A LOT of things to know about living in Hamilton Ontario! I hope this video helped and if your looking to make the move here reach out as I love hearing from you guys!
3 steps, 1. Get ready to have a lot of money for the overpriced and under maintained properties here. 2. Get ready to live next to people that don't have the same income as you. 3. Good luck reconciling 1 and 2.
I just left Hamilton after 35 years. I miss parts of it. I do not miss all the expropriated land sitting vacant along King Street East ... full of squatters and drug addicts. The house I bought in the St Clair neighborhood in the mid 1990s for just under $200.000 I sold in 2021 for well over $800.000. The realtor said I could have easily got another $75.000 had I waited for a bidding war. I sold it to a younger couple who really wanted it, and appreciated all the original Victorian woodwork I had painstakingly restored. They were the lowest bid ... but actually wrote me a personal note explaining that they had been outbidded on 6 other homes before mine. I honestly felt for their situation. Some say I was foolish for believing them, and was being told what I wanted to hear. I say they were genuine in what they wrote. Either way ... they got a home they really wanted and loved, and I got to move cross country before the snow came. The housing market for the GTA is mind boggling ✌
Wow. Thank you for sharing this story! What you did for that young couple will be forever remembered and I'm sure they are extremely thankful! Enjoy your new adventures!
Hamilton is not a good place to live anymore, it's gon down hill quite a lot and house prices are insane way too high I grew up in Hamilton from 67 -2000 and watched it fall then and it has gotten worse as time goes by sad but true. All the major industries moved and it is a toxic dump.
The crackheads and bedbugs killed Hamilton for me... I moved out 3 years ago and have never looked back... Maybe nowadays things might be getting better....but that's only because the rents have tripled in the last few years and the crackheads can't afford to live there anymore... If you like getting hit up for spare change...Downtown is the place for you!!... Enjoy!!!

Hey Thomas, we have our moments where we get a lot of snow. This year has been an odd one for winter. We haven’t seen much snow which isn’t normal.
