    For a family of four, an adolescent and a primary school kids, and one of the parents attending Mohawk College, would you think living in Burlington and commuting to Mohawk foolish considering homeless, drug issues in Hamilton for the kids? The main concern is the kids, but is living in Burlington instead an overkill?

    • @LivingInHamiltonOntarioCanada
      @LivingInHamiltonOntarioCanada  Před rokem +2

      Hey Noyan, great question! There are a lot of great area's and neighbourhoods which are perfect for family's on Hamilton's Mountain where you won't have to worry about those issues and a bunch are similar to Burlington such as Ancaster, Mountainview, Binbrook & Mt Hope. In these places there will still be a little commute to Mohawk but for sure shorter than Burlington. If you choose to live in Burlington the commute is about 25 - 40 mins depending traffic. If you have any other questions about Hamilton or Burlington feel free to email me! Matthewkellyco@gmail.com

    Hey apologies for the late comment. From the perspective of an American wanting to move to Hamilton and rent for now, would a job in the US pay comparatively as much in Hamilton or do people typically get paid the same number of dollars just in CAD? In other words, does US income in a similar job pay just as much as in Hamilton or anywhere in Ontario? I understand you're a realtor, but from someone who lives there would you happen to know? Thanks for the video btw; really helpful!

    • @LivingInHamiltonOntarioCanada
      @LivingInHamiltonOntarioCanada  Před 11 měsíci +1

      Hey brenden, If you continue in the same job with the same company as some of my clients have done they will continue to pay you your US salary in Canadian dollars which works to your advantage with the exchange rates historically. If you are looking to find a new job which is similar to the job you currently have I would think it would be similar in pay but i think it would depend on the company. Best way to find out would be to look at some popular job boards in Canada like indeed or zip recruiter to see how well they pay compared to your current job.

    Hi! Thank you for an informative video! Me an my family will be moving from Ukraine to Canada soon and the question is how much money do I need to pay upfront to rent a house. Like, if property is $2000/month, in Europe it typically means that I need to pay 2 month upfront and 1 month payment as a safety deposit if I damage something. What's the situation in Hamilton and Canada in general?

    • @LivingInHamiltonOntarioCanada
      @LivingInHamiltonOntarioCanada  Před 2 lety +3

      Hey Anatoliy! I appreciate your support! It sounds very similar to what is required in Canada. All landlords will look for 2 months up front (First & Last). There is no safety deposit in Canada. However depending on your credit score, employment & overall tenant profile some landlords will want more than 2 months upfront. Hope this helps!

    Which city do you recommend in ontario for a couple having WFH (no car)?

    • @LivingInHamiltonOntarioCanada
      @LivingInHamiltonOntarioCanada  Před 2 lety +2

      Hey Amrita, I'd probably recommend Hamilton, in a community near the downtown core or near one of the transportation hubs like McMaster offers to the neighbourhood Westdale. Or i'd recommend living in the core of Downtown Burlington close to some shopping centers. If you need help finding a place or have more questions send me an email! Matthewkellyco@gmail.com

    Hey! This is kind of a late comment, but I was wondering if you know whether Hamilton is a good city to study in? I'm thinking of applying for McMaster University. My first choice would be Toronto, but it's highly unlikely to get into a university there. So I was wondering whether Hamilton would be a good option, given that it isn't that far from Toronto, also is a relatively large city and is close to the water. Do you have any info regarding the studying conditions there? Greetings from Germany!

      Hey Clara, I went to McMaster for 5 years for my Degree before getting into real estate and had an amazing time. Lots of great local restaurants close by the school, events happening every weekend at Mac or in Downtown Hamilton and a bus that that comes evey hour that can take you to down town Toronto. I also love the McMaster Campus with the older Buildings and green space to relax in.
