They made one of my favorite cursed Minecraft jokes a reality now. All of those videos where it plays the soft music and closes off with the player munching on something like an axe is real now.
Since potions have colors, can be named, and everything can be stacked to 99...you could make 99 potions of strength renamed to "Bottle of Beer". I don't know if you can make an item frame accept a stack...but, if all of this works, you could have an item frame on your wall with a stack of 99 "Bottle of Beer".

The tradeoff is breaking pretty much every map made before this change. I hope they do something to mitigate that problem, like making a conversion tool.

I remember creating my first Minecraft Forge mod. There was a food class that contained the same properties as this in-game modifier. So they're just basically allowing you to mix item Java classes with commands.
On one hand, this is incredible for mapmaking and possibly general gameplay! You have way more options when making maps (custom food, tools, etc). I’d even bet this is a sign of things to come, like increasing stack size by default so inventory management is a little easier.
On the other hand, now all those peenixsc videos of Steve eating anything he wants will become reality
Minecraft already had this in the indev versions. Why are they bringing it back after getting rid of it?

I actually downloaded a mod recently that lets stack size be custom so this seems normal
The entire crafting system seems designed with multiples of 4 in mind, wouldn't an increase to 120, or just 128 be better? There are so many recipes that will leave you with 1 leftover item to clutter your inventory even further.

When I was in school, I played this Minecraft quest master game with my friends where you got things for getting things. (ie. if the quest master says to get an apple, you go the the pipe thing (the forest) and give it to the quest master.) We used the things in the playground as Minecraft objects and you got a Superstick™ (Literally all netherite tools + shears + fising rod etc.) and we even had all three dimensions as well.
When you ate the birch log, an error sound played on my pc because of another program but it was timed perfectly...

I actually wanted to make a super stick myself once, but didn't know how to do it. I am glad it's actually possible. But I wanted to make it just as a weapon. Not a multi-tool.
Fun fact : you can actually eat dirt. If you eat dirt, you can gain vitamine.
(tldr at bottom) Are you perhaps a spreader of, ahem, misinformation? Because not only is this false with one google search, but eating dirt can cause lead poisoning and/or anaemia. It's also a major psychological problem (for the rare people that have it) called geophagia, where people refuse to eat people food and prefer dirt/sand/gravel etc.
If they're clean or you've got a stomach harder than my - NEVERMIND, then yes they do help with digestion by crushing the food inside you, but otherwise this is simply false

Back when I used to play pocket edition, I was playing in a survival game with a few of my friends from school. But we had just finished mining and I jumped twice when trying to get out of the cave which caused me to fly. My friends thought I was in creative but I sent screenshots to the TV proving that I had a health and hunger bar. Eventually I stopped flying but from that day on, I was on a quest to get myself a PC.
