  • "What is the best sand tire combo for my UTV?" might be the question I get the most. In this video I discuss some of the pros and cons of the models I'm familiar with.
    For more information about these products I recommend contacting Duneland Off-Road Center. I'm very happy with my purchases from them.

    Also visit these manufacturer websites about the specs for each tire I discuss in this video.

    Your blue YXZ is sweet. I have a 21 Turbo S 4 with Dynamix and I love that car the family has a blast. I’m seriously thinking about buying a YXZ for myself just for shooting sand hills. I find myself mesmerized watching those cars go up sand mountain here in Utah. The sound of the car the shifting of gears it seems like an incredible experience.

    Thank you for the in-depth info!! Selling my SS360s, which you are on point - I get A LOT of spinning and yet to win a race, however, great floating tire (cruise tire) never did I get stuck. Because I have a TurboRR X3 looking into the Blackhawk’s, now I know about cutting the tire

    Great video, very informative. Lots of $$$ in that garage! Your Can-Am tires are a nod to the Military in their names. The Tribute is obvious, but the SR-31 Blackbird is referencing the Air Force's SR-71 Blackbird. (Fun Fact-SR-71 flew from NYC to LA in 1hr8mins.) Thinking about your RMax different tire diameters and rotational speed, when in 4-wheel drive won't it stress your front drivetrain and eventually break somewhere there (others have posted some vids about that. 😂 ) Nice point on WHERE weight reduction matters, tires vs wheels, as it relates to acceleration. something we don't always think about, but weight distance from centerline does matter. when talking about acceleration.

      Thanks for the feedback! I believe my RMAX tires are the same (or very similar) diameters. The rear wheels and tires are just a couple inches wider.

    Thanks for the info! Just bought the ss360 for my yxz with gytr turbo. Bought the 31s, might look into comp cut also. Will see how tires do in glamis soon!!

    What do you think about the Packard sand tires

    • @bendavis35
      @bendavis35  Před rokem

      I've never tried them but Packard knows what they are doing. They look like a good tire, I'd probably comp cut them to save some weight.

    Can you run paddle tires on a turbo S using stock rims 15 x 7?

  • @SNID56
    @SNID56 Před 2 lety

    STU offers a SR-31 PRO which is wider than the standard SR-31. Similar to the 13.00 vs 13.00 PLUS.

      Yes you are correct. I wasn't aware of that option when I made this video. That's a pretty big tire for a UTV, probably good for 500whp!

    Great video! When you measure your tires do you measure the carcass or do you measure tip of paddle to tip paddle

    How does the ride quality compare to stick suspension? I have a weller built turbo YXZ with Shock Therapy modified stock fox shocks on stock suspension. Looking to go long travel and curious if the long travel is worth the cost? Mostly driven at Glamis.

    • @bendavis35
      @bendavis35  Před rokem

      In my opinion the YXZ must have a long travel suspension kit with matching shocks in order to keep up with the other modern sport UTVs in Glamis. The OEM YXZ suspension just doesn't cut it in the big dunes.

    How do you think the RMAX would do with the SS360? Would you like them better than your current setup? I also have a RMAX and Little Sahara is my go to sand dune.

    • @bendavis35
      @bendavis35  Před 2 lety +1

      I think the SS360 would be a good sand tire for the RMAX. I doubt a 32" would clear the rear of a 4 seater but I'm sure a 30" would fit. Hope to see you around Little Sahara this season. RMAXs always catch my eye.

    Is the red and black yxz wrapped in that matte black? Been looking into paint vs. wrap whats your experience with it?

    • @bendavis35

      Those are matte black body panels for a 2017 YXZ SS SE. I just bought them from Rocky Mountain or Babbits online a few years ago.

    what tire do you think would be best for an rmax4? i want to be able to keep up with my rzr friends.

    • @bendavis35
      @bendavis35  Před 2 lety

      I'm pretty happy with my STU Desert Traks but I would consider the System3 SS360 for sand riding with the RMAX. You will still have hard time keeping up with any pure sport UTV like a XP1000 or YXZ. The suspension and power-to-weight ratio is just better than any UTV that has some utility to it like the RMAX.

      Both my current YXZs have NXS Designs long travel suspension with upgraded Fox Factory 3.0 rear shocks.
