I would suggest trying Rogue Sand Tires. They are the lightest paddle tire on the market. Every pound and every ounce makes a huge difference.
One thing to note. Comparing the Blackbird #2 paddle and the Packard Big Foot tires is apples to oranges. The Blackbird's with a #2 have a WAY more aggressive paddle. The #1 paddle would be more of a comparison. I bet they'd be 6's.
Great video fellas. You guys should do a few more paddle tire comparisons that would work on both the Mav R and the Pro R. Maybe a budget paddle tires, vs mid-priced, vs top dollar. Would be great as you guys dune-ride very fast, know the dunes, and understand how the sand changes. Seems that the SxS industry is moving to bigger and more HP vehicles, so info like this is extremely helpful.
Thanks my 2 cents
Would be if you aren’t looking for aggression get those Packard sds ones or system 3 for smooth ride or go high end like Packard Bigfoot comp cut or Stu model.
I wouldn’t do a low end or mid grade scoop. Either high end or get the smooth ride with the hybrid sds models
I've been running STU Blackbirds #2 comp cut on my X3 for 5 years now. It's a great tire.
Yes it is
Great information
Glad you think so!
Stu's all the way..my car is 24 years old..had the original stuff on them and still working..before I bought new ones for a different sized rim
Nice that’s awesome
You guys crack me up, every time I see the maverick r there something going on. Lol
Thanks it’s got its quirks
Thanks for the vid . What kind of wheels were those Bigfoot paddles mounted on the pro R?
Great video for paddle info
Thanks
@@desertsxs $100 question … what paddles are you going to run on your Mav R now ?
@@leevaughan8393 that is a good question. If I end up adding more power to it I’ll move to a Stu. Mine does very well in 4wd so I’m not going to spend more money for the gain I would get
@desertsxs with the Bigfoot being 34” and the front sds being a 33” . Will that affect the mav r at all?
Those front Packard tires are killing you in the drags. Especially if you aren't in 4WD you're just pushing so much more. I bet you'd be pretty even with sandcraft fronts or STU fronts.
I am a big Sandcraft fan but the guys at STU are also super stout dudes especially after hanging out with them at SLOREX for a day. They make some solid stuff.
Ya if we did 4wd I beat him.
Funnyco for the win
You should check out the desert master Stu. We started messing around with 35s on mavr. When I first looked at the desert tire i hated on it because it made zero sense how it would work on the sand as a paddle but somehow it works as good as blackbird. I still don’t understand the science of it. 😂
Really that’s awesome
im really curious about the SS360HP in 32" and 33"
What wash was this filmed at? :) Thanks bud great video!
The paddle test was by pad 4
What is a good paddle recommendation for the shuttle Hp KRX4 1000 (w/tune)? Thank you!
hey man! what is your camera set up? the view and movement is top notch!!! thanks
Thanks I use lots of different things from drones insta gopro phones it’s a mess lol
I live in the east and do tight trails and so I have a RMAX 1000 xtr and I am planning a trip out west and plan on doing colorado then moab and then glmis . If I am out in the dunes do you think I have the capasity to play in the dunes or will it be a waste of time to even go out there ,because its a one time trip and I dont plan on changing tires .
I think you should still go out just to check it out but you will be struggling to do what you see in videos for sure.
I would like to see SKATS or Sandcraft paddles in the mix. Any opinions on these paddles in the video vs SKATS or Sandxraft paddles??
I agree, will like to see SKATS and Sandcraft specially because of weight.
We didn’t have any there that day sorry. Those are good options too. My main point this video is get a good paddle don’t go cheap or you will probably end up buying 2 sets
@@desertsxsyes 💯 true I bought a set of tensors which are crap. Then switched over to 14 paddle 33” demon skats. Absolutely love them.
@@rzrdude2782 yes I did to and many friends did
Curious what rims your running on the Maverick R. Size also
Metal fx on the one and fuel on the other mav r
Any reason sand craft 32’s with diamond mohawks not in the video? Aren’t those the tires everyone is wanting?
Our friend that has them flaked last minute so I’m not going to show something we didn’t test that day. I do believe those are good option.
Main point of the video is get a really good paddles or just get hybrid imo if you are not going all out. Mid performance paddle tires are pointless just buy sds or system 3 option if you aren’t going to spend the money.
So when it comes to paddles should you stay stock size or go up, i have a 23 turbo rr rs x3 on stock 30 carnivores should i stay 30s or go up in size for racing and duning
30s will keep your cg down but you will bottom out much easier
@@desertsxs really? Even like Michigan dunes thats the closest thing to me
@@rcfreak781 a lot depends upon style of riding if the hills aren’t big and your not drag racing I would just do those Packard sds models.
@@desertsxs i like racing other people haha
@@rcfreak781 oh lol than get good paddle tire
Are u guys running am adapter for maverick R ,6 lug to .....m
No just 15” wheels
@@desertsxs I hear toyota 6 lug works , thanks for responding
@@ramonruybal9808 yes Chevy wheels do also
@@desertsxs thanks !!
No Skats?
Sorry we didn’t buy a set of those. Those are good to. There is a lot of good options out there the main point is to get a good paddle don’t go cheap with weak paddles.
Just to be point, best Tires for a Pro r is?
Are you stock ?
@@desertsxs four seater with Nothing but a Full Header and exhaust from RPM.
@@zakerMafia I would do Packard Ho or the Stu blackbird they are very close to each other
@@desertsxs Great stuff, appreciate you guys
@@desertsxs Which of the two did ypu find to be more durable in the long run?
Man, at oregon dunes sitting by fire... 140 miles on sand strippers (came on wheel package) fn sand strippers are literally falling apart. Quarter size chunks flying off from middle of paddles... guess mav r is too heavy or too much hp for Chinese molded... at any rate, will be getting stu black birds and Tebos on front tomorrow.... $2300. Smh, should have watched this video sooner.... anybody want to buy some 32" sand strippers??
Ya bummer
Is she single? She is beautiful
lol NO
She have a sister?
