The Bills peaked too early. After the win against the Chiefs, they never had a game that screamed contender to me. Too often Allen wasn’t just aggressive but rather careless. Receivers had too many drops. The team simply didn’t look sharp most of the 2nd half of the season.

Funny that the question has to be framed “thoughts on Bills loss” rather than “thoughts on Bengals win”. Everyone (especially in the media) is treating this like the wrong team won this game or something. Why do we have to be disappointed in the Bills, and not impressed by the Bengals? This is happening because for some reason nobody wants to acknowledge that the Bengals are arguably one of the best teams in the league, and have been since last year.

McDermott was real cocky on the the Q1 sideline interview ... then things shifted and Dolphins had the lead in 3rd, and ultimately lost by 3 in the 4th. With half of the offensive starters. Allen's interceptions, strip sacks, etc. and how unprepared they were should have shaken confidence in McDermott and Allen. Dolphins gave the Bengals the blueprint and they executed it with a healthy roster.

Let's look at the Bills Defense coming into the last month of the regular season. They didn't have any...
That's the point. Yes, the HoF DE injured a knee, but that wasn't just his issue.
What was clearly apparent was, the highly touted Top Draft Picks the Bills used didn't come through at all when it came to delivering.
If other Teams weren't running the ball against the Bills, the Defensive Backs weren't stopping the Passing Game. Yes, Micah Hyde was gone on IR.
But again, the high draft recruits weren't coming through with the Game.
I attribute this to Leslie Fraser, Bills Defensive Coordinator. Quite frankly, he hasn't developed a single F'n Player since coming to the Bills. He inherited some good players. But he hasn't developed squat and that's his job.
Ed Oliver has played better this year. But Ed Oliver was suppose to be a legendary Player coming out of College. DE Rouseau was a high draft pick, a game changer, where is this guy? what about the other DE, Euthanasia? Asleep?
These fellas went against 3 rookie pretty much 3rd Stringers and Practice Squad fill-ins on Bengals. They did absolutely NOTHING. So the Bills defensive game bailed on itself. Nobody stood up to the test.
Offensely, hello. After Diggs, who was there to be a threat. Ooops dropped the ball isn't good enough. Bengals shut down Diggs, and then the Bengals knew it was again GAME OVER for the Bills. Singletary is exactly that, a singletary yard run. The is zero running threat playing the Bills. That was an killer coming into the Season, and it really showed in the Playoffs.
So the Bills lollygagged into the Playoffs hoping for magic. But the magic ran out when Top Teams run the table cutting off your Air Game, no running game, and useless Defensive Line threats.

The bills are a vertical passing team, which is fine but they don't have the offensive line to allow them to do. They are projected to be over the Cap in 2023 three already, ten players make up 73% of their cap space. In order to make improvements they are going to have to ask for players like Diggs, Allen, Dawkins, Hyde, More, Knox, Milano all to restructure to free up room.

And other teams in our division are getting better, and also in the conference. So, our window could be closing?? It just seems like McDermott can get you to a certain point, but the season will continue ending in disappointment for Bills fans.
And Cincinnati has been the best AFC team for the last two years. And they probably will beat KC again, especially with an injured Mahomes. But I will give KC a shot just the fact they’re at home. And if Cincinnati does advance to the SB, they’ll have some pressure to deal with as well because whoever comes out of the NFC will be tough to beat. And Burrow could be looking at 0-2 in the SB, while the Bengals could fall to 0-4 all-time in Super Bowls.

The window is not closing...it is closed. The Bill's deficiencies were exposed the last two weeks...weak O line, weak D line, horrible DB's, idiot OC, and an average overrated QB. There is a huge hole where a team leader should be. Allen ain't the guy folks. He can make a lot of things happen, but the trophy isn't one of them. Choker!

I can see the Dolphins becoming the new AFC East champions next season. The defeats in week 3 to Dolphins and week 9 to Jets seemed to knock the swagger from the Bills

Many factors. Player wise: the Bengals offensive line destroyed the Bills Dline. For all the rest, the Bills were outcoached, badly. Dorsey has not done anything since the first weeks. Bengals schemed their receivers open all game. You can also see that with the Chiefs, 49ers, etc. When can you say Dorsey's gameplan made a huge positive impact? Burrows and Chase and all are good, no dount, but yesterday they didn't even need to be. Their coaches (and OLine!) made them win.

All of this speculation has been done over and over already. If anyone has any verifiable football knowledge and they saw the results of the first quarter of this game. And would honestly know beyond any doubts that the Bengals had this. So? Now it's onto KC to see who plays against the Philadelphia Eagles in Superbowl LVII in Phoenix.

It happens when the media over-hypes a team, making them believe they're the best when they're not. They run into an actually good team and royally choke.

It was a mismatch with the Bengals skill position players vs third string defensive backs.
