Love all those high balds! That closing shot: WOW.
Love your channel and the Art Loeb trail. You're not too far from the Linville Gorge. I definitely recommend thru hiking the Linville Gorge for one of your future adventures. Best views in NC (in my opinion)
I will look that one up! Thank you!
Wow! Sunset shot was beautiful!!! ✌🏻💕
My favorite hiker is back in action! Outstanding video girl!🥰👍⛰🏕🌲🌿
You're too kind!
😊
That sunset.
good video! i tried to watch an art loeb vid on another channel and it was terrible! yours is great and you do a great job showing the lay of the trail.
U really r getting on trail a lot lately glad u can
I'm trying as much as I can lol
Thanks for this video. I just got back from there two days ago. We didn't know about the bear canisters until we there. Few places to hang food either. We got lucky. Had a dog too. Seen many bears over the years, but never with a dog present. Hiked with my Mattie for 14 years. Except in the Smokies, but for once. A fine fixed me on that. Anyway, this is really cool.
I think they just very recently required them. I didn't see any bears on trail though.
So nice to see my favorite hiker out again. Looks like an awesome trail, sure had nice views. Wish this old man was able to hike that one. For now, enjoying ur hiking be safe an keep them coming.👟👟🏔⛺
I'm glad you can enjoy the trail through my videos. :-)
Missed your videos..I am on catch up. Enjoyed it and narrative
Beautiful video Thanks for sharing!
Great to see a new Hiking with Braids video. Those were some spectacular views. 👣😎👍☮️
Yeah back on trail. Absolutely gorgeous views. Thank you so much. Blessings
Those views absolutely stunning! Good to see you out and at it again! It must feel so good to be out there.
Great first day on trail for this adventure. So many beautiful and scenic views. Happy hiking and god bless
Braids you walked in the footsteps of Art Loeb, I quiet person who loved to share a passion for the mountains, sounds a lot like you.
Thanks for posting, and enjoy!! I hiked a portion years ago with my Scout troop, and had a great time.
That's a great trail. Glad to see you out there on trail again. I live 30 minutes from there. Great video as always.
Fantastic video 🎉
Awesome video!!! So excited for the next ones. 😁😁
So excited to see more from this trail. Looks like some great views to fall asleep to.
Yea!
This was the very first place I went backpacking...in early April. We camped at Shining Rock and woke up to 6 inches of snow on the ground! It's so breathtakingly beautiful here. It will always be a favorite!
Wow really awesome views on this trail ! And that sunset! Good call camping up there. 🏕 🌅
That’s a beautiful area!
Hi. Awesome hike 🌲👍
So beautiful! Reminiscent of the Roan Highlands don't you think. Now this is on the bucket list.
Glad you are getting out, and with a friend. 👍😀🐢🐇
Watching these again - thinking about doing this as a little thruhike!
It's a great hike!
Yay! It’s so nice to see a new video! That sunset was beautiful! Thank you:)
Yeah! Can't wait!!
So glad to see another video. Looks like a very rough trail but gorgeous views and an awesome sunset. Have fun. Can't wait for your next video.
Timbo here! Looks like a trail I will add to my bucket list. Enjoy!
Loved seeing you back on trail!! Beautiful views!!
Great video
Another one of my favorite trails and I did it last August. You made it further than I did the first day, but it was wet and rainy. That junction was a little confusing for me too. And I loved the Shining Rock Wilderness.
Very excited to see your hike. I just did it a few weeks ago with my hiking girlfriends. We also did 3 days/2 nights. Whew! It kicked my butt! But it is has the most beautiful views! Curious to see if it was cold at Black Balsam. We camped down in the pine forest just below and froze!
Curious if it's better to do this trail nobo or sobo...
We did it Nobo to Sobo….about a thousand feet less elevation that way!
I was just on Black Balsam a week ago! One of my fave places. I'd like to do the whole Art Loeb Trail one of these days.
Your videos are professional. Always good👍
Was wondering about this trail
Love your videos! You and I backpack in many of the same areas! I wish I had your on-camera charisma lol! Any chance you saw a memorial/cross on the trail in this first section? Possibly near the Narrows? I’ve been meaning to go back here to find it but just haven’t gotten the chance. Happy trails!!
They are a lot of up and down elevation gains but you can do it it is a hard trail but they are some great views
Yes its a tough trail for sure
@@HikingwithBraids I'm doing it again in October
What town in North Carolina is that trail near? The views are spectacular where you are camping. So glad your back on trail.
Love your videos 👍❣️. What is the name of your snack ?
Simple Truth Soft Nut & Seed Bar
Water stop at 3:20 is where you got the poison ivy.
What brand nut seed bars? That snack sounded good.
I know it's too late, but the greenery by your first water source is mostly poison ivy. Hope you didn't get any rash when you brushed up against it when you were drinking.......ouch!
I think the way the camera is set up makes it seem as if I was walking in it but where the water was I didn't notice it, but luckily I was rash free lol
I’m getting ready to do this trail. What time did you get into camp the first day? What was your average speed?Always love following your adventures! Thanks!!
At the 16:50 mark, did you get yelled at for showing Dusty brushing her teeth?
Beautiful day, great views, and a steep, but scenic trail. The only thing that could make it any better would be a dog by my side. Guess I'm biased in that regard, though...
Haha no she's super nice. Dogs are awesome. :)
Should tell us where are location wise at spots on trail
Great video and hike. Do you use a stabilizer when you’re filming?
No but I hold my phone very carefully lol
Did you get a poison Ivy rash on this trip?
Poison ivy there by that water source...
That plant next to your first water source looks like poison ivy. I hope that's not what you were brushing up against when you were getting water in the bag.
I try to avoid it as much as possible but I haven't gotten a rash since the one on the AT. 🤞
That’s exactly what I thought!
Look like you were standing in poison ivy filling your water....
I can’t wait to do this! Were there any water sources between Cold Mountain & Black Balsam?
Yes there's quite a few except coming off of Black Balsam.
