“It's not our job to toughen our children up to face a cruel and heartless world. It's our job to raise children who will make the world a little less cruel and heartless.”
Cruel and heartless is the nature of reality in a universe of chaos where entropy is increasing.
Whoever that quote is from never lived in the real world. You face reality by being good but always ready to stop evil. I guess they don't teach history at Emory.
Children today are raised to be entitled, delusional and unaccountable. In other words, children. Children and women share these attributes.

It's your job to prepare them for what they will face, not what you wish they would face. That's the same thing as lying to them.
This is about unacceptable conduct, which crosses the line of self expression. You dont ever interfere with police .
Did you Protest in the 70s.

Martin Luther King did that to end segregation.

She is way more intelligent than you, who can't write a coherent sentence.
Some people are braver than others. She is both intelligent and brave.
Demonstrating on "public property" is one thing, but demonstrating on the college's private property when the administration doesn't allow it, is an arrestable offense.

Good the safety of the students snd their ability to go ti class is paramount. . Glad to see police there
Peaceful protest doesn't endanger students or stop them from going to class. Protest is how the south was finally freed from the yoke of segregation, and you can bet the police were called in to beat up protestors and Freedom Riders throughout the south. There are things more important than business as usual, and one is having the right to protest racism and genocide.

@@josephshields2922 , That wasn't a peaceful protest.
@@josephshields2922 As soon as those kids began to interfere with the intelligent kids who are trying to get an education and move on with their lives they crossed the line of peaceful protest. When the administration asked them to be respectful and they refused they crossed the line of peaceful protest. And when people with opposing opinions exercised their right to disagree and the protesters started to become physically violent forcing the administration to call the police they crossed the line of peaceful protest. When the police ordered them to disperse and they refused they crossed the line of peaceful protest. After the police exhausted all means of dispersing them with verbal commands all that is left is to arrest them for their violations. And when the so-called peaceful protesters start physically resisting arrest the police are in a position where they need to use the amount of force necessary to effect the arrest and sometimes that looks bad to the public. The police did their job with a minimum of injuries to the protesters. Protesters who violate the law usually lie about their violation. If you expect the police to do their job without ever hurting anyone then you need to do the only humane thing and that is to disband all police departments. When that happens you will be doing the police a favor because wealthy people will pay them a lot of money to protect them once you've decided you no longer need them and when the police beat the snot out of bad people who want to rob them or kidnap their kids there won't be any large tax funded cities, counties or states to sue so the army that is hired by the fat cats won't have to worry about nasty district attorneys or civil rights attorneys. It will be like the 'good old days' where might made right. The police are the good guys. The terrorists are the bad guys.

I just watched the full context clip of her arrest. She is lying through her teeth about the actual events. Pretty disgusting to see people blatantly lie about their actions to push their own agenda.
EDIT: To everyone reading this, while she most certainly is lying about the events in this video, I implore you to watch the arrest video frame-by-frame before you claim she hit someone. She most certainly did not hit anyone if you watch the video in slow motion. She is lying about a bunch of stuff here but she most certainly did not hit anyone. Please seek out the truth instead of just whatever fits your narrative, or you are no better than this woman.
You’re lying. Absolutely shameful. Free speech in America 😂
@@threedogzz I saw the video. I've also defended this woman in other comment sections because people are claiming that she punched a police officer in the head. If you slow the video down you can see she is flailing around and the moment the police officer goes to put his arm behind her to take her down, her hand and the police officer's hand kind of blend together creating an illusion where it LOOKS like she is smacking him in the face, but she is NOT.
I am all about finding the truth, not just rage scrolling through social media to find a narrative that suits me. She did some silly shit and got arrested for it. She did NOT assault a police officer as many are trying to claim she did.
YEP..she even said she did,you should listen to when she is first explained it ..the time she was being led off to wherever they take them to push a fake arrest .
She originally during the arrest admitted to hitting and officer. Not all camera shots tell the truth. I would think other officers had body cameras that might give a better view. I do hold many of the professors accountable for not being truthful about this conflict. Many students do not seem to have the slightest idea of the facts of Oct7 before and after.

I mean, in this specific instance it escalated when 5 masked/scarved protesters swarmed two police officers who were calmly arresting two other protesters who were calmly standing their with their hands behind their backs.
After those two officers were swarmed by 5 other people they had some back up come in to stop the people swarming them, which is when this professor decided to waddle over and get in their faces.
In this specific instance, the protesters escalated which led to this woman being arrested. Police can definitely escalate in other circumstances, but not here.

Yes it is. It's no coincidence that all these colleges are arresting students on the same day for the same trumped up charges: "Keep off the grass". They are following a template that comes directly from the Whitehouse.

"How is it you think otherwise?"
The First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution restricts the US GOVERNMENT from making laws that regulate speech among other freedoms. However, this does not apply to private organizations, which are free to set their own policies regarding speech on their premises or within their organizations.
Students pay around $60k to attend Emory per year in tuition alone....it is safe to say that the vast majority are taking finals very seriously and most at the university want nothing to do with these "protests". Emory is under no obligation to permit such silliness during finals week or any other time.

One such incident has been traced to an extreme rightwing counter-protestor .
