Muggs' sampling skills are craaaazy. I don't think, that everyone realizes, how hard it is to have the right ear to bring so many samples together to make a hit!!!

@@DJFurio Have you thought about doing a video on Beastie Boys Paul's boutique album? That blends so many samples too. I'm sure I read an article somewhere saying it holds the record for most samples used on an album.

The fact that Muggs is behind most of the production for Cypress Hill, House of Pain, Funkdoobies and Soul Assassins speaks volumes. This is a very strong resume without even pointing out GZA, MF DOOM.. the list goes on. Somehow Muggs always slips under the radar when people are talking about sample based producers, but the guy doesn't left a few well known beats behind him, he left a whole legacy. When you take into consideration all of this you suddenly realize how big of a producer DJ Muggs actually is.

Muggs is definitely one of my favorite hip-hop producers. Recently I rediscovered two albums from the first decade of the century, for which he provides the production - "Grandmasters" (2005) in collaboration with GZA, and "Legend of the mask and the assassin" (2007) - with Sick Jacken. These are not as popular as his work for Cypress Hill but for me are great examples of his abilities as producer and beatmaker and, in addition to that, there is also a solid lyrical contribution from the MC's. So I strongly recommend to give them an ear.

DJ Muggs is indeed one of my top 10 favorite hip hop producers! From the funky and groovy catchy sample laden first album production style, to switching to a more melodic-dark, but moody and sinister production style in CH’s later music makes DJ Muggs a one of a kind producer that helped shape and influence hardcore 90s Hip Hop. No. They allow reaction videos and discussion videos about music. It’s classed as fair use. I only use short music clips anyway. Most of the video isn’t the actual music playing. I also use all my own music in the background throughout.

Just got back from seeing that Bob Marley biopic (not great). Anyway, it reminded me of when I was a kid and the first few times I heard a certain Bob Marley song. I couldn't figure out why this Jamaican fella was singing "because all I ever heard, Danish love songs." Anyway, emancipate yourself from mental slavery and if you have a wound on your foot that refuses to heal, go to the doctor.
