ElectroBoom and Big Clive have got to be the yin/yang of youtube electronics channels.
Both are very educational; I prefer the calm Scottish accent of Clive, but I think ElectroBoom teaches me more. It's that slight feeling of terror, the fear of ElectroBoom showing up at my doorstep, and god help me if I can't recount the methodology behind driving a DC motor.
    Great stuff!

@6:06 I like the distinction of the self inductance of the windings, and the back EMF caused by the rotation. I can't remember seeing it represented that way, and it bothered me(that back EMF wasn't symbolized). So that way of representing it helps it make more sense to me, because again I didn't have a symbolic way to separate the self inductance from the back EMF.

I have been wondering why haven't you yet made videos about driving mosfets, emi filtering, etc you've mentioned in this video. Your videos are very useful to me personally and I find your ability to dig up, refine and present information to be quite commendable. I tip my hat of to you sir. I learn a lot of new things and even clears up or refreshes many concepts I forgotten. Sometimes I use info from your videos to help my students in class, if not, I just directly say to them to see your video on those topics and tell them he explains it better and he is funny too. I watch your videos even if I m not particularly looking for anything. This video particularly is one of my favorites and have watched it may be a few dozen times while just wondering around your channel. So I think you should do those videos especially on the emi filltering. I would love to see your take on the topic as it is one of things that fascinates me more than any other. Anyways Thanks for reading. Take care. :)

In Poland we still have in use a lot of electric locomotives with brushed DC main motors, back in time it was too hard for our engineers to develop a proper H-bridges for them, so for power control they used very BIG resistors with huge cooling fans. It doesn't matter how slow was the locomotive going - always it took from power line half of maximum current or maximum current depending when motors were conected in series for start and low speed or paralel for speeds over 40km/h
