💐 Looking for a reliable, rugged and refined focal that you can succession plant throughout the entire season? You need lilies! I'm selling 25x and 50x increments on bit.ly/44s6v4o - We've got roselilies, non fragrant lilies, and double non fragrant lilies for multiple weeks.
I haven’t even watched this yet and needed to share in so excited to watch this interview on farmstands!!!!!!
🤣🤣🤣
It was also great info overall on marking up retail bouquets, being deliberate and setting lofty but realistic goals!
This interview made me think I could consider a farm stand in a rural area. What great ideas! Love this and looking forward to the second video.
I’m glad you’re giving this a consideration! There are some very successful rural stands that do a great job of marketing to drive traffic to the stand versus relying on traffic that would naturally go to the stand 😌
It's a very common thread that the successful flower farms all have very sound business acumen. In this example, rather than having a multitude of decently performing revenue streams that required a lot of labor to maintain, the goal was to stick to one revenue stream and optimize it.
I really liked the discussion on buyer psychology all the way down to the road signs. It was also interesting that she clearly had some internal struggles regarding optimizing that buyer psychology. It's a business, not a charity. If you want to do charitable things, don't do it in your pricing strategy... Because you aren't going to be able to be charitable in the future if you go bust.
I think you hit the nail on the head - successful farms know how to run businesses and apply business principles relevant to any business.
Buyer psychology is really interesting to me too, especially around pricing and marketing. You can expect to see more content on this in the near future 😉
Great information as usual. I love that Lennie is now in Oregon, like me.😊
Thank you! Def a different market in Oregon and we talk about how she’s potentially approaching her sales outlets differently
Thank you for this encouraging video. We are opening our first Farm Stand in June.
Yay! Im glad you feel encouraged! Good luck, I hope you have a successful season!
@@bareflowerfarm thank you so much!
Such a fantastic interview packed full of great info!!
Thank you friend 🙏
Love your videos. Hope fam is doing great! ❤
Thank you. I appreciate it 😌
Thank you
Loved hearing about the pricing psychology, farm stand experience and how everybody can be happy 😊
Agreed! I think pricing psychology is so cool and glad you got a lot out of this interview!
Loved this! I don't have a farmstand but it still had a lot of great takeaways!
Agreed! Especially on how she is able to mark up 3x her retail bouquet from wholesale. I need to get better at that this year
Love this interview. I need to order that book❤
That is definitely a book I highly recommend. There are some really helpful numbers in there 😊
Wow great interview! Can’t wait to see the next one!
Thank you! 😊
Just opened my stand for your first time last weekend so this video was perfect timing for me. Such a wealth of information! Thank you!
That’s awesome! How did you do??
This is so interesting for business even if you are not in the flower industry (I'm not)
For sure! I love studying businesses of all type- so many parallels!
Thank you for this. I bought Lennie's book and am just diving in. I am wondering, What hours and days her farmstand was open? How do you keep it stocked everyday? I am considering being open Wed-Sun as opposed to every day to give me time to harvest and prep as I am just one person. Any advice is welcome and appreciated. Thank you!
Hi! I believe it was open most days if not all days. She would run back multiple times in the beginning to make sure it was stocked properly and looked at its best. I think opening just a few days a week would be a great idea! The key is to spend time to market your farmstand and try to drive people there intentionally!
Excellent interview! Thanks for sharing!! I do have a question....for the farmstand, did you have people vandalize your signs or your stand? This is what is stopping me from trying the stand. How do you work through this? Thanks
Hi! Glad this was helpful. Lennie never talked about this but I don't think it was an issue. She was also out in Sonoma which I feel would reduce this probability (versus like being in SF proper). Rather than vandalism, theft is often an issue I hear more of. People put in cameras as a deterrence but it can be an issue for sure.
I just moved Ed from California to Oregon last December
Nice! where in CA were you from? My husband is from Southern CA
How many stems of filler flowers with the 10 stems for $30?
I would love to see pictures of her old farm stand in Sonoma, any place where we can see those?
If you look at Lennie's @b.side.farm.flowers, there are some images of the farmstand!
ooooh, I have an honesty farm stand
I’d love to hear if the advice Lennie gives resonates with you since she had an honesty farm stand too! (There’s also a link in the description for more info from Lennie)
