    Many people feel like the eyes feel tired and heavy almost all day long. There are many different reasons for this. Tired and heavy eyes are some of the main symptoms from digital eye strain or digital vision syndrome. Eye strain and eye fatigue can be from dry eyes and tired muscles from using your eyes all day long. We are all on our digital devices many hours during the day, and it can have a long lasting effect. Computer vision syndrome is one of the most common conditions people deal with these days, and hopefully this video can provide a remedy for it.

    If your eyelids specifically are feeling heavy, there are specific reasons for that as well (Dermatochalasis, Blepharochalasis, Myesthenia Gravis). I plan on doing a specific video for the eyelids alone if there is enough interest?

    Thanks for your content, it's very helpful. What do you think of meibomian gland probing if one has a good NBUT, not many lost glands, but thin lipid layer (30nm)?

    • @DrEyeGuy
      @DrEyeGuy  Před měsícem

      If there is evidence of any keratin or covering over the meibomian glands... then may be good to look into probing. Meibomian Gland probing is one of the top procedures I want to look into doing for patients.

    I wonder if dry eyes and tired eyes are a modern phenomenon. So many people complain of them, but I've wondered if it's all down to televisions and computers or lifestyle in general.

    Love all your video’s very informative. On tired eyes syndrome video, can that also be caused by having excess sagging eye lid? especially when getting older. Would eye lid surgery help? Or maybe can’t have eye lid surgery because of dry eyes??
    Thank you!

    • @DrEyeGuy
      @DrEyeGuy  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Yes! Thank you for mentioning this. Drooping eyelids or drooping/excessive eyelid skin can make your eyes feel heavy. This is especially felt during a long day, having to use more forehead muscles to help raise the eyelid. I was going to mention this, but I am going to do a complete separate video on that topic. Eyelid surgery can help with this.

      They would usually have a "+"/Plus power, and yes... would be something like +0.50 or +1.00 depending on age and prescription. The idea is to reduce accommodative demand/focusing demand when doing long-term near work.

    Any thoughts about why my myopia (but not my astigmatism) is getting better as I age along with developing benign PVD? One particular eye has greatly improved compared to the other. I do have some presbyopia (+1.50 - not bad). I'm actually wondering about the risk of a cataract in the eye that has is improving so drastically. I know that cataracts are common (I'm in my 50s) but my vision has been changing drastically during the past two year requiring prescription changes.

    • @DrEyeGuy
      @DrEyeGuy  Před měsícem +1

      It could be related to cataract formation... cataracts can cause a hyperopic or myopic shift in vision. But other things can cause this too... and sometimes it can be a mystery.

    Hello, I am new to your channel. My daughter scratched my eye and I have been seeing blurry . I am scared that I lost vision. Is it possible that my eye can still heal. It's been five day and I have been putting the eye ointment. However my eye did not return how it was. I do plan on going to a eye doctor to check it out but is it still possible for my eye to heal.

    I am a new subscriber and I liked the content. Please help me answer my question. Three months ago, I had my annual eye examination and the eye was dilated, but only after hours. I felt all the symptoms of dry eyes, in addition to eye pain. I saw doctors and each one diagnosed differently, the drops used for dilation is 10%phenylephrine, 1%tropicamide
    Even the tiny glands block MGD
    and cornea dryness, what do you thing the cause , this is the first time happen , usually I had dilated before with no symptoms,

      There was an abrasion in the cornea and meibomian gland dysfunction, all the glands were clogged which caused toxic conjunctivitis. One of my doctors said that the eye drops used on me had too much concentration and told me it should be 2.5 percent for all kinds of drugs or eye drops. Do you agree with what that doctor said? What do you think I have? One of the doctors plugged with tear duct for 6-8 months to comfort me because I have severe eye drops. All of this happened after my eyes were dilated. It’s like I received a chemical splash in my eyes.

    • @DrEyeGuy
      @DrEyeGuy  Před 25 dny

      I haven't ever hear do of dilation eye drops causing that many issues with dry eye. Maybe some irritation that resolves during the same day. So I'm not sure... makes me curious though.
