Father MOMOTARO ♂(2000/7/3)
He is hesitant in new situations and is a loner.
His father died before he was born, and he had never spent time with a silverback.
He had already turned into a silverback by the time he was 10 years old.
He is struggling with unfamiliar child-rearing.
MOMOTARO's father is BIJU.
MOMOTARO's mother is MOMOKO
Mother GENKI ♀ (1986/6/24)
She is 14 years older than Momotaro and has a role to support the whole family mentally.
She has had a tumultuous and eventful life.
She has returned to her birthplace, Kyoto City Zoo.
She had never been blessed with a baby but after meeting Momotaro,
she had two sons.
She is a very maternal female gorilla.
GENKI's father is MAKK.
GENKI's mother is HIROMI.
First son GENTARO, male (2011/12/21)
He was separated from his mother Genki soon after he was born.
Genki's milk production was not very good.
He was raised by his keeper for his first10 months.
Because of this, he is very fond of humans.
His face is so expressive, and everyone enjoys watching him.
Second son KINTARO ♂ (2018/12/19)
He is just very strong-willed and independent.
He has big eyes and long eyebrows.
The way he plays a lot with his brother Gentaro makes everyone smile.
We can't wait to see what kind of gorilla he'll become!

All global fans are concerned about his future. To be honest, without support overseas, we find it quite difficult to make him have his own family. Zoo or organization, they have to make a big decision. In terms of all I have done so far, eventually the Kyoto zoo started to recognize me and started to receive donations from people outside of Japan after negotiations with the zoo director and zoo officials.
Other channel owners don’t do such a thing for foreign viewers

IDK 🤷♀️,,, in my silly opinion only {^_^} ,, okay here we go,, with Gentaro becoming a very knock down handsome silverback. 1) could being fostered by his human dad for 10/11 months and not getting to bond with Genki from the time he was born till now. 2) Could this be the reason he’s doing what he’s doing ? 3) Gentaro’s body is telling him I want to grow up and start my own troop becoming a silverback. 4) (AND I KNOW THEY DONT THINK LIKE WE DO) But in his mind he still craves Genki’s attention and affection so this is why he not fully challenging Momotaro a lot.
Totally agree, gentro was forgotten when Kintro came along, he was shown no love anymore and the zoo knew he would have to be separated but they wait until the last minute and now he’s all confused

Will Gentaro eventually be moved to his own enclosures? He is so big and he acts mean to his brother and mother. I think this tire episode was a challenge to his father.

From what I've seen these last few months, I believe that Momo would have naturally given Gentaro leadership of the troop, if they were in the wild. Even though both Momo and Gentaro are both frustrated and depressed, neither wants to fight the other.
Time for more enrichment.❤
P.s.- I wish that Gentaros foster father would acknowledge him when he visits. They live in our world. We must have a happy medium with these beings.❤

@@justbreathe_That’s an interesting take on the subject. Fighting isn’t going to solve anything in their enclosure.
It looks like they are giving each other the space to be silverbacks in close quarters. Momotaro did the sensible thing and moved on from his seat by the tire. No need to get mad.
Is Momotaro mellowing? I think the tire incident was a show of strength by Gentaro, and not an act of aggression.
Gentaro needs a reminder of who’s in charge.
Momo listens to the birds and his surroundings. Hes my favorite Silverback. Hes beautiful ❤

I wish the sound was almost off. We never get to hear our favorite gorillas but the screaming visitors made me want to yell at them. Yes I could turn off my system but it's not as easy as some.
Part of the problem is these gorillas don’t have much space and don’t have other gorillas around them like younger ones to play with. The mother is 14 years older than the father and it’s just sad because it’s like all they do is eat and play with the same things over and over again gorillas are smarter then u think. Their environment at this point, is not the best. I know the caretakers do their best and at least they’re safe but it’s really sad to see such a small space for them.

Mom and Dad live in fear of their own boys. They are crazy wild at times.
Dad ain't in fear!! He thinks the boys are playing. Momo is only 23. Gentaro could never have upper hand. I worry for him!!

Momotaro would eat Gentaro up. None of these silverbacks are intimidated by their sons. Especially not one in his prime. He just doesn’t see him as a threat and thinks he’s playing around. The only time Momotaro reacted very badly was when Gentaro bit him. Even then, once Momotaro had him pinned against the wooden frame and Gentaro was screaming for his life, he stopped and stepped back. Either he felt bad or thought he scared Gentaro enough because he stopped abruptly.
Oh and Genki may be nervous of Gentaro because he plays too rough but I’ve seen her bodyslam Kintaro. She’s not scared of him at all 😂
When Kintaro was a baby, Genki would intimidate Momo if he got too close.. there are no wimps in a gorilla troupe.
Kintro can be mean to genki and nothing happens to him, when he gets older he’ll probably be more mean because he never gets in trouble, she may slap at Kintro but she doesn’t really hurt him
