Glorious footage of old Hollywood. I love your channel! Fascinating to see an era when furs were considered essential glamour wear. It looks beautiful but I'm glad this cruelty fell out of fashion. My mum had a fox fur stole with glass eyes and a fox face that she wore in the 50s and as a kid in the 70s I was fascinated by it. Another era.
I saw the 2020 Academy Awards, and after watching this clip of the '53 awards, I say " give me the '53 anytime". The women and how they dressed and conducted themselves tell much. The women of 2020 needed to go back and take lessons. Even the men of 2020 needed lessons. I was totally ashamed of the Academy Awards presentation of 2020. From what holes did some of those people crawl.

Janet Leigh and Tony Curtis are quite a handsome couple. Janet Gaynor was also very attractive here. Enjoyed looking at this and it's in great condition for 1953.

Wow!! Just saw this one!!! What fun!!!! And in color. Nice array of stars, the classic ones and the young starlets like Janet Leigh and Liz Taylor. Joan looks fabulous, as always, and truly touched by the crowd and the people around her, and a little shy, even.☺️ Not one of the other stars has a nose as stunning as Joan’s, I must say. It was so nice to see Joan Fontaine!! She’s always glamorous. All these stars knew how to deck out for a party, by golly.

Yes, the stars of yesteryear were more glamorous, but it goes beyond just their style, it's their mannerisms- their body language. Observe how they move like ladies and gentlemen. The way they move has a sophistication to it, same with the way they spoke. All this combined gave them that air of classiness we all pick up on. And on that note, something interesting I notice about Joan Crawford here is that as much of a movie Queen as she may have been, if one observes her body language, she actually has tremendous humility. She comes across as very shy and humble- especially compared to all the others seen here. And that's interesting, because we always hear about what a striking woman she was, with such a commanding presence, when that's not really the vibe I get at all most of the time, when I watch her outside the movies. She primarily comes across as very shy and humble, and it's rather adorable. 🥰💗

3:17 Greer Garson….A friend of mine told me that she attended a play put on at a college for the arts and afterwards there was a party that the cast attended. Greer asked him what part he played in the production and when he told her that he designed the set she dismissed him as if he wasn’t important.
