Joan Crawford's Life-Long Charity Efforts
Famous actress sisters playing famous actress sisters!! I kinda liked it❤❤
This movie is free on CZcams right now, sweet! Just watched it last night and it was creepy fun! Joan acts her butt off. She is amazing.
Her face was priceless with the Clark Gable question.
Thank you.
So much misinformation in this documentary. Davis was not paid 200k for this film. Crawford was not married to Steele at the time. Musto is a clown and doesn’t know what he’s talking about. Crawford realized it was a bad picture and would not take Davis’ and Aldriches behavior so brilliantly removed herself from it. Davis’ performance is pure ham and embarrassingly dreadful. Mary Astor is excellent in the film. The film did not do well at the box office.
Joan’s eyes give her away. She holds on to her dignity so tightly and is vulnerable to an implied insult. Before the interviewer starts asking questions you can see the fear in her eyes. She seemed to fear the unknown, she wasn’t sure what was going to be asked, how she would come off. Once she hears that he sat through repeated showings of one of her moves ,she knew he was a fan, that she was in a safe space. The woman Christina her adopted daughter describes is not found here, not a trace. She has such dignity. A true legend. I agree with her the world needs Romance when they go to the movies.
Well there's a song about Betty Davis eyes, but they should make one about 'She got Joan Crawford eyes,' as well, they both had striking eyes. Miss Crawford was a very talented business woman and actress. What a legacy. These are very positive things about her. Thanks for the informative and very positive video. Sometimes only negative things and unverifiable information is portrayed about actors..
Poor Judy Garland. I guess youve heard how she was treated during childhood. Very sad.
This is so gross! Abuse is one of the most traumatic things a person can go through and here it’s been turned into a sleazy comedy spot in front of a cackling and baying audience. Why, if she stands by everything she’s ever said or written, would Christina Crawford condone this cheap, tacky look at her life and work. Turning the whole situation into a stand up comedy bit shines a light on exactly the person Christina Crawford is. Look at her reactions when she comes out at the start to the audience applause, THAT is what she wanted and that’s what she always wanted. What a shame she couldn’t get any applause the same way her mother did, with dignity, talent and class.
Well i enjoyed this ..What a great twist it has ..Acting is very emotional in those days ..Unlike now ...Its very good ..
What is up with those clothes and hair styles? It looks nothing like fashions from 1973…. Everything except the Joan Crawford scenes look like it was recorded in the 1980s 😵💫
She was lieing Larry
Clark Gable was six foot XOXO
"I don't discuss politics or religion." My, how times have CHANGED.
To late to denounce it after you lied and plotted against someone after their death, hell has a place waiting for Christina Crawford.
Lets see, someone had a talented, famous mother, lived in a palace with food and clothes and ponies at birthday parties and it was so awful, had to write a book for money because she bungled all the privilege and opportunities her horrible mother laid at her feet. I'm just not feeling it. I will say I was a lippy, spoiled child too, but no one bought my book.
“I never knew there was so much… LOVE!” - That made chills run the length of my body.
I have been guilty criticizing her based on Christina's movie. I was wrong for that. Her personal life, if it did or didn't occur, is none of my business. Ms. Crawford is delightful in every interview I have seen
Joan should have switched to doing tv roles starting in the late 50s because she would have had more roles offered to her then in movies.. especially for anyone 50+ years ago.
Why did they yell and scream their lines on this show? It's disturbing.
Elegance personified. She looks fabulous here in typical decked out “Joan” fashion. The jewelry and the dress are exquisite along with the coiffure, pulled back to emphasize the classic features of that legendary face. Was there ever a profile like that? The straight, flawless nose and those giant eyes impeccably accentuated by the sensibly appointed false eyelashes. Those magnificent unbotoxed lips and, oh my god, those unforgettable eyebrows! Norma Desmond said it best…”we had faces then”! Class pure and simple.
This would have been a good series!!!!!
Always loved Vivian Vance better than Lucy
I was so little when i saw this. I knew Joan Crawford was a big star, adored by my Mom and Nanny- i just now realized she was doing her signature Charleston.
She lies. If that were true then the other kids would be abused too. I never believed her. The twins adored Joan. I think Christina n Christopher were upset that Joan left them out of the will n Christina knows why so for revenge n being a spoiled brat she wrote a false made up book
So noble of an actress - here J. Crawford - to describe a colleague, Miss Garbo with so lovely words. They both belonged in an artistic world where professional rivalries were very common. Here we see J. Crawford as a friend, an impartial critic and a colleague any actress would have been honored to work and share the silver screen with.
I was at a VT B&B this past weekend and noticed on the bookshelf a memoir she had written that was published in 1971. I began reading and found it quite interesting. I didn’t know she was CEO of Pepsi from ‘71-‘73 and wanted to know more about this. Was she successful at this? I read she was “forcibly retired,” which made me curious about what happened.
Bill Kurtis or Peter Thomas .. who came first?
3:45 Lew Parker, Ann Marie's father on "That Girl"!
Joan was classy
I knew they wouldn’t get away with it, but the WHY!🫢🫢🫢🫢
When I read Mommie Dearest when it first came out, I thought Christina came across like the difficult person in the family, just going by her own testimony. And I was reading it as a 16 year old! It's such a shame. But thank you for putting another side of the story out to defend Ms Crawford. ❤
Stars dressed so glamorous back then. I think Liz Taylor was the last one to dress that way and took it with her when she passed 😢
The studio system created formidable stars. She was certainly a peak performer. Such a strong will in addition to such talent.
Hmm Joan was petite
I love Joan Crawford
I find that nosy old buggar annoying. I would hate someone grilling me like that.
This shock the hell of out me at the end. WOW. Don't sleep on the "Blind"
Stanwyck's final theatrical movie, "The Night Walker," was one of her worst. Her work thereafter was on television.
the best!!!
Don't believe the BS in "Mommie Dearest". Joan Crawford was one of the most respected actresses in Hollywood. Her business sense with PepsiCo after the death of Al Steele was very highly regarded. My great uncle in California knew her in her prime and met her during WWII. He said she was absolutely a down-to-earth human being who really cared about other people. She gave a lot of her time to everyone she met. I was so saddened by her death in 1977. I got the bad news one day after school when I was 16 years old. While I did not know her personally, I believe all that my great uncle told about her. He was the accountant for legendary Greer Garson in Joan Crawford's heyday. Being in those circles, my uncle met many stars of the 40s snd 50s.
jahaja all parents were like that at that time or even worse , you can tell she was so celous of her mother.
SHE WAS A BETTER ACTRESS THAN THE SCRIPTS COULD ACCOUNT FOR. SHE WOULD HAVE BEEN FIT IN A MADE FOR T.V. SERIES. TO COMPLEX TO DEVELOPE IN SUCH LIMITED TIME. DALLAS, FALCON CREST? SHE WOULD HAVE BEEN DELICIOUS, IN SOMETHING OF THE SORT. SHE OVERPOWERS TO THE POINT OF A STABLED RACE HORSE. THE WOMAN WAS DRIVEN!
Pure class
Me encanta la sra crawford. He bajado sus peliculas mas importantes de internet y la encuentro fantastica.
SHE'S SO CUTE HERE
That was very nice/high class that she spoke good about Bette Davis, and honest, she said she really did not know her well, (because of 1 picture together), but nothing mean or nasty things , like people (including my self, thought).
I love that: "I won't stop, I'll just remember." Her brain never stops and clearly remembers every detail of life. What a Queen, we were lucky to have her
Her face lit up when he mentioned Melvin Douglas.
Good one!
