I agree, holidays are just another day. But I look forward to the super sales I can get and stock up on items for our family at the best prices for the year. We really don't celebrate the holidays.

Consider making your own soups in the crockpot then freezing them in 1 qjart or 1 gallon baggies. For easy freezing and storing: Fill your baggies vertically with the resealable edge up. Squeeze the air out, ensure the sesling edges are clean, and seal. Then lay flat to freeze; and stack once frozen. I actually like to fit my bagged, unfrozen product into a baking pan to help it keep a uniform rectangular shape and from slipping around the freezer whioe freezing. Once frozen i simply stack the frozen rectsngles in top of themselves without the baking pan.

For a few months I've been struggling with financial hardship.. I've been getting my food from the local food pantry.
I stopped by there yesterday to drop off some shopping bags ... And shocked how many people and families were waiting to get food .
Luckily I didn't need any food yesterday.
If I did I would probably be waiting over an hour and a half 😮. I haven't seen it this bad since covid.
PLEASE donate to your local food pantry they are in need or better yet volunteer at one .🙏
All the food Pantries in Shelby Country go to Memphis. The rest of the county are left to shift for themselves. Check for local church pantries.
It's getting really bad. People are hurting financially with everything going up so fast. I was having a discussion with a friend this morning. A carriage full of food will run several hundred dollars. Just a year ago, $150.00 would give you at least 4 grocery bags full of food (if you're not buying beef roasts or steaks). We gave up steaks and roasts. I can't justify the cost. I understand why it's so expensive, but I can't pay those prices when I can get chicken or turkey or pork for a lot less and several meals. Even fresh veggies and fruits are ridiculous. Renier cherries was 2 weeks ago, $9.99lb!! WTH?!?! I know they are more than regular sweet black cherries, but last year they were at the highest $5.99. We freeze dry a lot of food that we get on sale, as well as canning it top.
Bagged lettuce: if you rinse it in water first, it smells and tastes better

I look forward to the 4th of July sales every year. I stock up on ears of sweet corn 8 @ $2.00. Seedless watermelon $3.88, sweet black cherries $1.99lb, London broil twin packs $2.99lb, Italian sweet or hot sausage 3 to 4lbs family packs @$2.49lb, peaches $0.99lb. Stock up time and we will be busy grinding the beef, cubing the beef, making beef jerky, and freezing for the grill. Sweet corn will be made into kernels and freeze dried and also canned. Cherries will be pitted, some frozen, some freeze dried and some made into juice. Peaches...canned for the year and some will be freeze dried to turn into powder for smoothies. Canning the sweet sausage with peppers n onions for easy meals thru the year... and just plain raw packed sausage and pressure canned to add to pizza's or sauce for pasta. Oh and the watermelon will be eaten fresh and half of it freeze dried to make powder for juice through out the year. God is good! God bless America 🇺🇸
Great prices but not at the Kroger I just came back from today. Corn was $1.99 for 4, Watermelon $3.99..Steaks $30.91 for 3.Peaches $32.49 was $1.29 last week. Sale from last week & week before was better sales .

Thanks Danno! The Sweet Baby Rays for $0.99 is an excellent price! Stock up time. Dukes Mayo too... we love that and Hellmans. Can you believe the price for mayo? When it's at regular price and we have run out, which is an insane price, we make our own from our chicken's eggs.

There are no Kroger stores in the UP of MI, but when I get downstate I usually pick up some sale items to bring back with me. The only thing I don't like about the digital coupons is, you have to buy the 5 items at the same time. I wish you could buy, say 2 items and before the sale was over buy up to 3 more at the digital coupon price. It's been clipped to your account already, wish it would just subtract the items purchased and allow any additional items, for another time during the sale.

Husk Corn is 60 cents each. Watermelon is $3.99, no real sale on potatoes, just 3 lb stuff. Milk 1/2 gal back up to $2.79. There are just 2 of us, and these 'Spaving' bundles don't fit our budget. Last week, the hamburger was greaser than the 80/20 should be. Turned brown fast. Those salad size tomatoes are Not in my ad. We don't use Sodas.

Be careful on the buy 2 get 3 chips. Kroger in Southern WV had large bags that were not included in the deal in the entire display last time. Get to the register and get told the bags I had were not on the deal
Thats when I put items back at the cash register or return them at customer service.
Historicalky, summer is when I buy condiments, canned pineapple, and olives for my winter holiday meals, pot lucks, etc....These i put to the side so I don't use them before hand; left overs get used from January to June. If there is room and cash flow, ill buy for regular use upto a year. I figure how many I am likely to use in a month then multiply by 12 to determine my ideal quantity. We only stock for a year in case the 12 month estimation is too big; usually the things will be good for 8 to 24 months.
In about the April-May time frame, Walmart had all kinds of the reusable filters for Kurieg type coffee machines. For ourselves the Kuerieg type pot is out in the garage. We have a wide mouthed, plastic type jug/ jar with screw on top (?old peanut butter jar?)that we fill with 6 filled filters then take out to the garage. Does it make fine dining type coffee this way? No, but then its garage coffee and the grounds themselves are nothing special.

Can you answer this question I downloaded coupons at kroger I went Wednesday bought 2 chips ahoy cookies I went back today to buy 3 you are supposed to be able to buy 5 well I found out once you download coupon shop use it once even though you don't buy all 5 the coupon is invalid to you after your first shopping it doesn't keep up with 2 then 3 is this true or did lady lie to me at store
The lady didn't lie. You used the "weekly digital coupon. It's a ONE time use whether you purchase one or the limit of 5. Once used it's gone. If one reads the "weekly digital coupon" it DOES state how to use it.
