    Hey Danno!!! I buy those jumbo packs of tortillas. They freeze great but I open them and put a sheet of parchment paper or wax paper between about every 5 and put back in original bags. This was you just take out what you need from freezer.

    We haven't bought any steaks in 2 years. I can not justify those prices per pound at all. We are fine without it. Chicken, turkey, pork and tuna. We still have 4 turkeys in the freezer from Thanksgiving that we were able to get for free with some of the stores. I buy whole pork Loin when it's $0.99 lb and make smaller roasts from it or boneless pork chops and into freezer camp it goes wrapped in butcher paper then vacuum sealed. Whole chickens we buy when it's on sale for $0.75lb and I cut them up myself and also filled boneless breasts. The carcasses I cook for chicken stock. The liver, stomach, hearts all go into my home cooked pet food along with beef liver and beef heart. I just bought 8 large racks of pork ribs for $1.99lb a few weeks ago. When there is a great sale, that's when we buy in bulk. Because regular prices are ridiculous. Same goes for rice. We have plenty in stock, but when I see $6.99 or $7.99 for 20 lbs, we pick several of them up to put away in stock. Everything is just going up so high, we have done without items for a while. Our 2 mini jersey had 2 female calfs. Next round if they are bull's, we will raise for freezer camp. We have all the dairy we need (Praise Jesus and Thank GOD!!). That was the very best investment we made last year for the next 20+ years (hopefully).

    • @livenletlive7537
      @livenletlive7537 Před měsícem +2

      @sandysmith8567 It is a rarity, believe me. They do happen once in a while, and that's when we buy the meat in bulk as much as we can. This week for 4th of July, they have London broil for $2.99lb. Going to get as much as we can and make ground beef from half of it, and then some cubed beef for stews and the rest as is for grilling. The rib eyes and tbones look great or chuck roasts, but I can not see spending that kind of money. We have many mouths to feed. So cost per pound is a major influencer for us.

    I honestly think that ground beef prices will come down in price. My biggest concern is products shrinking their size. There are a few items that are so expensive I just won't buy these items anymore. My second concern is our grocery bill is through the roof. I am not worried at this point that ground beef is .50 cents more at Sams club. I am honestly more worried about the whole picture with grocery prices. Gas prices are up that is bad news for our grocery prices.

I have to admit that their Eye of Round was still nice and the price was still good, but I was just not ready to drive out 35+ miles for it when I can hit beef on sale at Kroger; my freezer is stocked. I also liked their price on iceberg lettuce, and I would drop in IF I were nearer. Date: Shopping June 22,2024; I love Avocados and I, eat them all the time. Sam's Club was my go-to to get Large Avocadoes (Omaha, Nebraska). NOT anymore. The price for Avocados at Sam's Club was $7.62/5-count which means $1.53 for each Avocado (WTH). I saw that price and walked away, SMH and cussing like a Looney Tunes cartoon character. I went to good old Walmart same day and their Avocadoes were.85/cents. Now, If you take your time to pick through what they have you can find a nice size not Large but Medium size which I buy 6-8. I like to buy my Avocados nice and hard and let them ripen accordingly until I want to eat them. By the way Aldi's Avocados were .99/cent Medium size. So Sam's Club has lost my vote for Avocados for now.
