The happiest part for my day is leaving my job. I cry sometimes when my alarm clock goes off. Because. I hate my job. It's really difficult to not fall asleep at my job too and I feel it's very toxic.
I hated my job when I was PT and knew I'd hate it more after going FT.
You should reconsider staying in an energy zapping job, I had a job I detested that affected me emotionally and physically, when I finally escaped, all my negative symptoms went away and joy returned to my life

How could we change it? Regardless of whether or not that's even possible. What could we have done, in an ideal world? In an ideal world, everybody gets the job they enjoy that uses their strengths. If that world existed, NO ONE would be stacking shelves, cleaning toilets, sweeping roads, collecting rubbish, or being the STOP/GO sign man. The nation would grind to a halt. Now, I'm not trying to be difficult, I just think that's how it would be. How to find a middle ground?

@@Adam-rt7lp I replied with a short and sweet personal observation/opinion. People do it all the time here in this thing we call a comment section. You did it just now. What consists of a "lame" comment is entirely subjective for every individual reader. I'm sorry it came out as lame to YOU and you are entitled to that opinion just as I am entitled to mine, which I stand by; It's easy to say "just keep trying" or "push yourself" or "get up and do it" as apposed to putting those mentalities and actions in motion. This video was more a motivational speech than advice. For a lot of people just getting up off your ass and doing it and pushing yourself through the failures you will most likely encounter (for anything, not just getting a job you wont hate) is very difficult, especially considering those that may have any form of disability or obstacle whether its physical, mental, financial, or otherwise. That's my take which I summed up in a 4 word sentence that did not insult or take away from the overall point of the video, nor could it have considering it's just a comment among the many. Why few people get so bothered and defensive over these kinds of comments I will never understand. Maybe because they get a handful of likes you feel the need to try and tear it down because you disagree. Kinda "lame" I think but, you do you.

I so needed this. I'm at a job right now that I can not stand. I used to love it and now that I've came back I hated even more because I feel that my Hard-work is not appreciated. But you're so right about finding something else that youLove and I've always had a passion for art fashion design and hair and even music so I'm taking all of this advice because I am that person who people could tell I was miserable but no moreeeee!

I am exactly where you are right now. I've always had a passion for fashion design. I got so damn irritated with the job that I realized that maybe it's time I work for myself. I enrolled in school for fashion design and I've been making a few moves here and there; not necessarily enough to walk away from the job I hate now but I'm on the road to leaving. I'll be done with school in April; my goal is to be gone from my day job by June.

Ummm no. There are LOTS of things which prevent people from achieving their dreams. First and foremost having a solid dream to strive for. Then there's education which in our country is not accessible to everyone due to the fact that it's extremely expensive and that loans aren't actually a viable option for most people. Then there's the other obligations side of things. Do you have more than one job, more than 2 jobs, how responsible are you for your expenses, how many people is your income supporting? How many people do you support with your time? Now lets talk about race and gender are you a person of color, a woman, a woman of color, trans, gay, intersex? If you are any of these things and are open about them you will be ignored. Are you a single man, employers will assume your irresponsible. Are there other obstacles in your way? Neurological disability like autisim or ADHD, what about a physical disablity like MS or Crebral Palsey. How about depression, or bipolar disorder, that will sure as heck mess up your job hunt provided you find the motivation to start hunting. Oh and let us not forget, can you learn easily or is it a challenge? If learning is a challenge then staying where you are even if its hard may be your only option because learning a new job might not be possible and then you're screwed when the new employer gives up on you. Finding a new job isn't easy, changing one's prospects isn't easy, and MOST of the time more is needed than just determination and grit!
Erica Lasley Sure it ain't easy or straightforward but I believe with enough determination most people can get a better job. I'm thinking of going therapy, I feel therapy would not only help me personally but improve my prospects of getting jobs that are better suited for me. For some getting a better job is so hard that there are stories of those who do everything to provide a better future for their children. It's not impossible.

I needed this. Absolutely hate my current position. I’m a veteran and am focusing on veteran recruiting sites and I’m devoting time to that! It is priceless to feel happy while working. Everyday won’t be sunshine, but waking up and hating life because of a job isn’t worth it. Life matters!!

It's an investment you must be willing to make. The same way people take out loans for college. If you want something badly enough, you find ways to make it happen...end of story. When I was at a job I hated, I was willing to do whatever it took to change my circumstances.
I did whatever it took at one time in my life. Complete disaster. Then again, I didn't have another job lined up and had someone carry me until I was forced on my own .

I hate my job because I put in my letter of interest and I had a interview the same night, point of my story is that I got lied to and people who didn't put in a letter of interest got promoted also if you're not apart of the "kiss my ass" club, those are the people that get promoted while people who actually work don't get recognized.

When I left an extremely toxic job, I hadn't been able to look for another job or train myself (before quitting) after work because I worked days, nights and weekends on a chaotic schedule, mandatory overtime, and I was too exhausted to do anything else. So now what?
Spend time with yourself. You should restore yourself from all the chaos. It will be uneasy at firsf because constant chaos can sometimes be spmething u get used to. But just take ur time in spending some alone time, to sustain urself, take a part time job. Something that wouldn't consume most of ur time

Well said! It never ceases to amaze me how many people just settle because they're not willing to put the work in. Life is too short to be miserable and make excuses why you can't change your circumstances.
It takes alot of work and perseverance. Its taking me months, when im qualified, to get a new job.
It's also too short to work and the risk involved with "bettering yourself" more often than not leads to the individuals situation now being worse than it was prior.
@Ignat Titus Doru You do realize that most of the people with these issues are born into areas that don't have public transport. And aren't in an area where biking to work isn't a viable option.
That maybe but some jobs end up making you depressed and live with anxiety for years that it won't let you move on sometimes life is tough sometimes.

I work with some seriously toxic ignorant people . I am done being surrounded by them . I’ve currently applied to a posting that potentially starts in two weeks . Really hope I get it !!! I need away from these people !!!!

It’s frustrating, because I have to deal with management, I don’t want to. I want to be left alone. I LOVE being alone.
I don’t want meetings, I don’t want interviews 2 times a month, every month, then at 6 months, at year end, AND my birth month... Acklands Grainger does this. I’m unhappy there, because I like what I do, but I don’t love NOT BEING LEFT ALONE.
I am drained because those above me, are in those positions of pressure to pressure those below them.
I scored a 2 out of 4 of social studies work because I don’t like to talk at meetings, but have always gave very great feedback with my bosses.

Why do I feel like I just got yelled at
I just did a career change my previous early income was 15k a year terrible now im making 50k yet miserable. Money didn't bring me happiness it brought deep sadness working from 5am to 7pm 14 hrs no life. I truly believe true happiness is to live to do what you want for you not for other's time to break this modern slavery.

Left my old job as soon as I could! The moment I opened my website I quit immediately and didn't look back. I would go to work at 8 a.m. and got off around 7 p.m. only to come back tired with 1 day off and on TOP of that our checks would come in late on some weeks so you might've got paid on Monday last week but in 2 weeks you'd get paid on a Saturday. I just knew I couldn't do that anymore so I quit immediately.

I hate my job so much. When I first started i loved it . Unorganized management that make my job 10 times more difficult that it has to be , and making customers angry at me , having to constantly lie about their orders not being shipped , and running out of product , asking the management to order more product more than 10 times, not having a delivery driver available, working 6 days a week . Waking up at 6:30 to make It to work which is 45 minutes away , getting home at 8 pm , not having time for myself , gaining over 20 pounds, having anxiety attacks , is reason enough to hate my job. This is by far the most stressful job I ever had . Not worth the money , not worth the headache . I’m waiting to save and then quit . Even if I cut In Half what I get paid . I haven’t had a vacation in a year , every time I wanna take a day off is a hassle. Management forgets I told him I needed off. Driving on an expired license plate for almost two months cause no time off :(

I'm so over my fkn job,it's making me sick mentally and physically!!!But in the current job market in Australia it's so cut throat!! Once you become unemployed your stuck there.
You said that you could get any job you want just with hard work. that is untrue because there is nothing to make of people graduating from college and not even getting jobs in their field because of too much competition and then on top of that being saddled with debt. Also not all public schools are created equally. Trust me on that. a schools funding depends on test scores which is wrong because that means schools that students in the hood are forced to go to do not have the funding to actually change them and help them go to college and how text books and the right programs. Funding should be split evenly to actually help schools be equal.
When did we start living to just to go to work and die? I am 31 and so beat down that I don't even know what I want to do anymore. What job I WANT go do. I haven't been unemployed in almost 10 years. I'm so beat down i have no idea what I'm going to do next

I hate my current job as generator technician. Its contractor job, I don't learn nothing and is really boring... but I need it for money... On Monday 06.01.2020 I do have final checks for my new position in my dream company! LOVE MINE grading papers, putting in grades, and lesson planning, lesson planning never endssss, because usually you don’t get much time at work bc of parent meetings, admin meetings, activities, special events, etc. there is always stuff to bring home. I worked as a teacher and in office and at least with the office job, when I left, I didn’t have to take anything with me.
I love how people think teachers are done when the kids leave like y’all don’t have tons of work after hours. I have a friend who teaches HS English and on occasion has brought homework to dinner because it was either bring the homework or don’t go out with your friends.
My energy is used to better myself. The problem is I dont want to use energy at my current job.. and it sucks.

I worked as an electrician/mechanic at a factory for 11 years and loved it since day one. Sadly we were all laid off. I was stressed out of my mind the last few months due to not having a new job lined up, so i took the first "best" one i could get. It was as an electrician at a bigger (and older) factory and i absolutely hated it from the moment i got there.
I'm not gonna go into details but i feel like im clocking into a prison everytime i get there and i just wanna throw up.
I started to look for a new job two weeks in and luckily i found one. I'm currently waiting to start it but i have 4 more weeks of this hell to go through.
So like this guy says, START LOOKING FOR A NEW JOB right now.
