As an old had rock miner I wish you would have got a closeup of that stuff on the walls . It looked like a natural form of asbestos. It needs moisture to live and grow. It can be from a light gray to a very bright silver in color. If you were wearing a good air monitor it would have picked it up. Just like man made asbestos it will attach it's self to you lungs. I would suggest that you invest in some good quality air monitoring meters or at least a filtered respirators . Anything from a with growth on won wood to what you found on those walls is not good for you. Please be careful I'm not trying to be Mr. Gloom and Doom just a guy with many many years working in mines

Watching that give me the chills. We all learned that most of these tunnels were created by prisoner or forced labor that were worked to death. So it is amazing, but also a testament to monster activity.

  • @QuantumPyrite_88.9

There is no steel or wood shoring to support the tunnel . IMO , very little explosives were used and I imagine pneumatic / air chisels and hammers . The metric tons of stone removed is phenomenal and a superior geologist and engineer were utilized . The silvery substance is quite odd and not like a buildup of calcite or other minerals . An engineering marvel and thanks for the input on torches / "flashlights" used . Respect sent .

My grandfather was a miner and he called those noises in the California gold mines "tommyknockers" - lots of superstition behind them and I am certain there were equivalent names in German mining operations. The rocks you saw stacked up in that first side tunnel are called "gobbing" where the excess rock is either used to construct walls to get it out of the way or back-fill a tunnel to be closed off. Great video and Holy Madonna! - lol

This is so cool! The ingenuity and tenacity of the German war machine are, often times, forgotten, eclipsed by their crimes against humanity. But all these things are a testament, not only to their drive, but to their willpower as well. I mean, tunneling straight through mountains! That's no small feat, and in such a relatively short period of time too!

Guten Tag aus Portland, Oregon, USA! I noticed a small opening in the tunnel system that I don’t think you explored in your video posted on Oktober 8th, 2020. It shows up around 05:22 minutes and the small, maybe 1 Meter x 1 Meter square opening is located in the left-hand side of the tunnel near the floor. I think it is the same opening that also appears in the right-hand side of the tunnel at 09:50 minutes in to your video. Ein großes Dankeschön for all the content that you have posted on CZcams, Auf Wiedersehen!

Chickamauga, Georgia is a huge civil war battlefield, Cherokee for Place of Death, we used to camp there in high school, park rangers had a sense of humor with us, they dressed in period uniforms, spooked us kids all night. It gets pitch black too, rolling low fog, Snodgrass Hill was the bloodiest fighting in the campaign. Gen. Rosecrans held the confederates off from Rossville leading to Chattanooga, Tennessee, CSA Gen. Bragg blew it at Missionary ridge.

How did they do that? Forced labour more than likely. Due to the consistent allied bombing raids night and day, the nazis usually built tunnels to hide and store ammunition, so I think it was more than likely an ammo storage tunnel, hence all the side small alcoves, with potentially prisoners also manufacturing ammunition.

Fitting musical intro with the two of you arms a swinging, on your way to yet an another WW2 history adventure. Way to go EE! Of course you were right, something of interest was there for you to discover. What a huge tunnel, so well constructed. Many of the WW2 German tunnels, bunkers, barracks, and other structures were built by German soldiers and/or professional tradesmen working together not forced labour/labor. Must have taken a lot of blood, sweat, and tears, with plenty of swear words. Definitely not an expert on rock formations or minerals, but could the silver grey streaks be Basalt? It's a very hard rock used in construction. Looks like some unfinished business with the completion. I could actually hear the moisture droplets fall on your clothing. I am thinking the knocking sound was a shifting of the rock formation, but what do I know. Come on Dad let EE toss a flashlight in the water to test it's capabilities. You just may need to know for future reference. Once again, you pulled it off HH and EE. Thanks for sharing. We want more. Stay safe.

He he , EE has tried to end the life of many of the Olights and he hasnt succeded yet :). Well he has a plan he says to do that one day. Great underworld place and the knocking sound was more then exciting for us and we talked about that for a long time. We will hopefully show more later. Thanks Laura and stay safe :)

When I watch the intro, I think: every episode is an adventure.
If it is in a tunnel, there is an entrance and exit, so it is correct because you will come to the collapsed entrance.
The first time I see water droplets in the light of a flashlight.
11:50 You say train and it's like one passes by.

    huge knocking sound?
    may have been a Tommy-knocker 😂
Seriously though, it could be an indication of a hollow void behind the wall or under the floor.
May be worth taking an iron pry-bar in there with you to tap the walls/maybe the floor and listen for changes in the pitch of the sound as you walk along tapping.
Maybe there's a well hidden room somewhere in there

Now that was interesting, sounded like a big gun firing, but think that was a echo of ypur footsteps you hear near the end. Your really should take a psb7 evp recorder with you see what you pick up

I don’t remember exactly which one it was, but when you looked down one of the dug out areas in the tunnel, one of the wall on the left of the dug out looked liked it had a very smooth wall. I wonder if that was the feature the older gentleman said had gotten sealed up? I noticed at the other entrance that was blocked had a lot of water on the floor. Were you able to get to the very end to see if it continued? I didn’t really hear the thumping noise on the video so no telling what it was. Maybe ghost of the workers still working there lol. Hope Eagle Eyes wasn’t to scared.
