I do both. I blend it all out with a brush then go over everything with the sponge so you get the best of both worlds! It gets rid of any brush strokes and picks up any excess foundation that isn't needed.
@@simcamy i usually use a damp sponge except I do have a foundation that I use a dry sponge for because otherwise it seems to disappear with moisture before it sets. I love the shopmissa pawpaw sponges they are amazing for $1.50
The same amount was applied to the face which means the sponge absorbed most of the product. The heavy coverage is the brush not absorbing the product. To get the same coverage as the sponge, one can apply less foundation on the brush side.
I like and use both methods. But it depends on the foundation and even concealer as some simply blend better with a Brush and some with a Sponge. Sometimes it’s nice to blend with the brush and finish with the sponge 😊
I’ve never been able to get a brush to work even with trying different brushes. It always catches on to every peach fuzz, clings to dry patches I didn’t know I had, exaggerates texture, and just sits on top of my skin bad. I also feel like it just takes longer. I’m definitely team sponge!!
I have never once ever used a sponge, sensory wise they just gross me out. But I only use 1 pump of foundation and have a pretty good brush that blends well enough to give just barely medium coverage. Whereas ive seen plenty of full coverage done with a sponge. So it seems it's moreso depends on the amount of product.
I think this depends on your skin type too, I have horrible problems using brushes for liquid foundation on my skin. I was an MUA and rarely had trouble with anyone else but my skin streaks unless I’m willing to spend twenty times longer than a sponge takes to get a smooth finish.
Don't wear foundation but when I do my spot concealing and under eye concealing , I'll go in a brush then blend out further more with a damp sponge and find it looks nice ❤
About broke even? Though off topic, I miss when there used to be powdered foundation and tinted moisturizers, though I used more powder foundation though I not used it everytime I rarely put on makeup.
I don’t know why so many use sponges. Sponges are called sponges for a reason…you’re getting less product cause the sponge is doing it’s job. If you want to waste your money go right ahead, my FINGERS are the best device money can’t buy!
Yes you can use your fingers for a simple look with not that much coverage, but if going for full or medium coverage you may wanna consider using a beauty blender or brush. Hope this helps!
I use way less product though. If I use as much as her I will end up with a cakeface. I legit drop 1 drop on my hand and with that I can do half my face with a brush. It will be a sheer coverage, but still very noticable. If you want to build it up to medium add slowly by putting a drop on your hand and just gently touching the drop with your brush (not pressing, you want tiny amounts of product to actually see how much works for you). Full coverage = not more product. Full coverage more coverage with the same amount of product that you would use with a light coverage foundation. Thats really not a lot trust me. Any more and it’s cake fest
I've never seen anyones foundation match their skin tone so well. 4 years now still looking for my shade 😂
😂😂😂
Same lol
Yup, I'm too yellow for cool and too light for warm and neutral makes me look like a grey fish 😂
@@mindymartinez5596girl..make your own foundation, companies will never represent humans the way it should when it literally made FOR humans 🤦♀️
Lol 😂
I do both. I blend it all out with a brush then go over everything with the sponge so you get the best of both worlds! It gets rid of any brush strokes and picks up any excess foundation that isn't needed.
This is what I am planning to do 🥰
Are you depping in with a wet sponge after applying with the Brush?
Me too but i do in reverse. I used sponge first to make sure i cover every area and then use brush to get rid of patches and smooth ever thing out
Same
Exactly likewise
I apply with a brush and then set with a sponge. I get more coverage but no streaks.
Do you use a dry or damp sponge?
@@simcamy i usually use a damp sponge except I do have a foundation that I use a dry sponge for because otherwise it seems to disappear with moisture before it sets. I love the shopmissa pawpaw sponges they are amazing for $1.50
Genius
It looks like the sponge applies better. It’s blended well and less thick. The brush application looks like it sits on top of the skin.
The same amount was applied to the face which means the sponge absorbed most of the product. The heavy coverage is the brush not absorbing the product.

Try both! I do the brush first and then go over it with a sponge after!
I'm opposite. I hate sponges
Both methods are amazing!
I would love a brush and fingers comparison
Which foundation are you using ? I love dewy foundations and the one you are wearing looks so good
Its from Hydromaniac
I firstly uses a brush to appy my foundation and after that blends it with a blender /sponge to get an evenly finished look
I usually just put foundation on my face, smear it a bit with my finger, put the brush in the bronzer and then go over it with the brush :p
I have never once ever used a sponge, sensory wise they just gross me out. I use both, brush first and then a sponge. I find I get thr best results this way
Brush side is very satisfying ❤
Brush is the best applicator to blend foundation
Kelly, do you have a long version of this video?
I’m learning a lot from these comparisons 😂

Honestly, same. Brush looks horrible on me

Brush for night time look and sponge for daytime 🙌
I just use a sponge I think it's way more melting to the skin
I apply with brush, set down with a nearby dry sponge
Same, I never wet my sponges. So any I buy have to be soft without wetting, do you have a favorite?
I use both
Wich brushes do you use
I like brush more...dont know after blending with brush my face look more shiny & glossy than with a blender❤
Easy: use less foundation for brush, it doesn't absorb it. Sponge isn't better. She just applied wrong amount of product
