I have a 97 GMC Sonoma doing a LS swap I have wire harness and brain off of the LS can I tie it into my wiring
Yea its possible you are going to become very familiar with the wiring of your truck by the end. The factory fuse/relay panel should have the relays you need just need to figure out the wires. However the ignition system is different and you will need a fuse panel for the injectors and coils. The a/c can be done for sure and the gauges can work but you may need a box to change the signal to a signal you can use. Everything else should work fine since it is a seperate harness.
What transmission do you have in yours
I had a 4l60e but recently changed over to the 4l80e
How much easier do you think the wiring and everything is on a newer s10? Like 2001.
Its all about the same just depends on whether you want to spend the $800ish on the plug and play harness. It makes it much easier to do because everything works on the vehicle like factory.
I have a Holley terminator x for my 5.3 I don’t see anything on running a relay for the starter is that relay a must?
For me it was bypassing the neutral safety switch im not sure if the holley cares about a nuetral safety switch
for the tcc relay what if you have a non lockup converter? because i ordered a nonlockup stall
Hmmmm well I would have to say you wouldnt need it. To be honest I didnt know they had non locking torque converters. I just learned something thanks guy!
can I use the stock wiring harness, pcm, and fuse box out of my donar truck?
You sure can it just needs to be made into a stand alone harness. Check out lt1swap.com
Do you need to do anything with the red and blue big connectors that went to the original s10 ecu? I fucked up when I was taking apart my s10 and got rid of those.
The ls harness should have those already you shouldnt need the s10's connectors
I have a 5.3 out of a 2010 Silverado putting it in a 97 s10 pickup planning on using the same wire harness and computer do I need to remove all of the original computer wires on the s10

I had misfires I couldnt work out and various other issues
Not sure if that video details the issues i was having or not but it was around that time. I didnt even realize it though until I went to do the 6.0l pcm and things looked way off
@@southerngearz yeah I went back and seen the video. I’m almost finished the videos. I’m wondering if I can use the manual transmission that is in the s10 with the 4.8 motor
@@dirtrider6090 nah unfortunately it has the 350 sbc bolt pattern and wont bolt to the ls motor
@@dirtrider6090 however you could use the manual from a fullsize with an ls if you can find one. I never found one though i think its a nv3500 trans. There could be an adapter but i never looked.

@@southerngearz i get it, it would have made it a hell of a lot easier to super charge it or turbo if you used the right carb of course
@@merrittmcdowell8675 yea a good pass through carb. I may do it on the ls swapped prius if I can ever get that going but im very far from that haha.
