- If you use a tracksaw, parallel guides are a useful jig for quickly producing more manageable sheet material. There are several commercial versions, but you can make them yourself- for much less.
If you want to 3D print the end stops, rather than make them out of wood, the files are free to download at www.thingiverse.com/thing:479... - Jak na to + styl
Another useful video - how you only have 350 odd channel subs is beyond me.
Very kind- it is a slow business, so many videos these days...
Now, that's the way. Simple, direct, economical. Thank you.
Looks like a good solution. Another one to add to the list of guide rail accessories. Thank you.
Excellent project.
Thank you.
Looks Good Mike. Will be giving those a go when I get a chance.
Awesome Mike 👌👍
great work!!
Good idea... keep up
Nice one.👍
Thanks!
I'm going to try a variation on your design, using your triangles as outlined but with aluminium rulers instead of T track. The 1M rulers are just £4 each from Screwfix and I will cut these to 50 or 60cm . The holes at the track end can be slotted to allow adjustment. I'll adjust the design of the end stops accordingly. They will be hardwood as I'm not equipt to 3D print. One day perhaps...
Sounds like an excellent idea! Etched scale thrown in...
Good solution, do you think the plates could be 3D printed too?
Yes, they could. I try to use 'conventional' methods where I can, as people complain if it is all 3D stuff. If there was enough interest I could publish a 'plate' design.
@@Tensquaremetreworkshop that’s good & fair enough, but now I’ve got a 3D printer I’m always on the lookout for things to make 😂. I’m sure I could design the plates in Fusion 360 from your plan 👍.
@@idlersdream826 Good project! Link them here if you publish...
@@Tensquaremetreworkshop Hi Mike, over the last couple of days, I finally got around to producing the 3D printed plate & making a pair of guides, although I've yet to get and add the adhesive tape measure.
I don't have a thingiverse account, so here's a Dropbox link to the file & a photo of the finished article using my own printed star knobs.
If you're happy with it, you can add it to your thingiverse post if you wish. All the best, Bill.

@@idlersdream826 Thanks! Not sure I will need more guides, but other viewers may want to use these- a lot less work than cutting metal...
Nice, although a yellow pair would be nicer:-)
'Other colours are available' as the BBC is wont to say...
