Roller blades?
This opens up a whole slew of ideas. Launching from a skateboard, hoverboard, one wheel, unicycle, tandem bike, pickup, quad, golf cart, boat, etc.
They mentioned a tandem bike in the video, and, yeah, I do think it'd be interesting to have a launch person up front pedaling and steering, then have a person lift off from the back seat.
But _all_ of these things seem dangerous, and I'm sure there are risks that probably make it not worth it.
Launching off a boat??? 😂
@@amonoceroswdym its 200% worth it
Saw several one wheel starts in a years old Bad Apple video
This is the dumbest idea yet. 😂 Love it!
Yessir
How bout taking the bike in the air with him? Lol strap himself to the seat lol
What should I try next?
Once you, or someone, gets a electric unicycle rigged up to hang during a flight, that will change everything. There’s a new model I am blanking on, but the ‘veteran Sherman ‘would be a good place to start looking at euc stuff. Chooch tech is the best euc channel imo. That’d be a great collaboration maybe?
Dude great video man!! That was cool to watch! Dude it would be sick to see you fly off the kayak!!
Bake some real risky biscuits in the air?!
Can you try and go on a kayak and without a wing see how fast u can get the kayak moving on an open lake with the aliexpress paramotor?
Skateboard that doesn't need hands :D
This was actually a REALLY helpful video-- Tucker showed his thought process of when NOT to launch, how to choose to abort, when not to force it. I could be accused of committing too early and trying to force launches (and it's cost me some money, but fortunately not injuries). It just took Tucker getting on a bike, with a ridiculous motor, to sort of pull him down to the level I'm at in my launch thought process, and I really appreciated seeing this. It was chance to see a "great pilot brain" at work in a "new pilot scenario". Glad you decided against trying to get this to work, thanks for leading by example.
You’re lucky! I tried to force a launch once, and snapped my fourth metacarpal in a spiral. I’ve got 6 self-tapping screws in that bone now, with a plate. Hurts all the time. On top of that the new prop cost me $300. Literal insult to injury!😂 Learned my lesson, and now I make sure I do a long taxi before I hit that throttle. Gotta watch the wing, and only commit when it’s “locked in”, flying straight. 👍
Yow! Thanks for sharing your experience, and after all that I’m glad you’re still getting up in the air (I might have been like “welp, that’s it for me!”). I have definitely gotten off lucky, this is a good reminder not to push it.
Chopper style high rise handle bars seems to be the missing link
Honestly, a stem riser is very useful for tall riders on cheap bicycles, so that could be VERY useful, to get his thrust line level, and allow better control, with more speed
TBH, that is the missing link on any bike.
This is ridiculous. I love it. As a 90s kid I say try it with roller blades. Might be easier.
Our roller skates would be even easier
He’d kill himself on Roller Blades!!
It would push him over and 50mph would be suicidal.
@@carterbacon2634great idea much lighter!
Roller blades lol
Roller blades using an actual runway
A+ on swamp boat! I love your spirit of adventure and enjoyment of flying! I wish I was 50 lbs lighter and 30 years younger. LOL. At age 52, out of shape, (and fattish), only way I'm getting off ground may be in a trike/paramoter. "some day" . Keep up the amazing content. -A fan from Sussex County NJ.
Man I can't wait for the kayak one
Thanks for documenting this awesome failure! It's exactly the kind of thing I would also attempt (once I had many "normal flying" hours under my belt, as you do). Love that you record and post even the experiments that don't turn out as anticipated.
I like that you are always able to make the right decision and play it safe.
Awesome Idea Tucker! I often wondered how combining the Motor with a Bike would work - also for the Road, which you already answered. Unfortunately, here in Germany, every tiny thing is regulated, so we can't do any of that. But that's where you come in! Greetings man!
Ps.: Glad to see you didn't hurt yourself. That looked sketchy as heck^^
Nice to see Dan back! Been a while...
Steer with one hand like 2D breaks work, otherwise think like a trike. This is a tactic used by pilots with disabilities. Grab both break toggles in your left hand and hold them to your chest, grab the bike handlebar with your right hand to steer. Keep both feet down for stability and to reduce the cognitive overhead. Roll on throttle, and move your left hand a little down until you feel even tension, then move it left or right to steer the glider pulling against the riser pulleys for leverage. Once your at full power and feel some lift gentry pull your left hand down to boost your lift. A more powerful motor would help.
I had the idea for kind of motorcycle-like motor where you kind of sit on the motor that powers a propeller then has stand-offs to either site the glider is attached to and the breaks pull into a handlebar area. It would have some pretty extreme weight shift and feel a little like a motorcycle. Not sure how practical it would be but kind of a fun thought experiment. Maybe such a thing could have a hybrid drivetrain to work like a motorcycle without a glider.
Haha u crazy SOB. Glad you're safe, and this was incredibly entertaining. Kudos.
I’ll give you an A for effort. What I like to see is the air kayak video!
Dan Dan the hype man! 😝 good stuff buddy. ✌️
That was insane! Glad you're all good after that tumble!
Tandem bicycle is 100% the way to go! I vote for Dan driving the front and Tucker taking off from the back!
That was very interesting, thankfully no injuries👍🙂
Thankfully with all of your knowledge and experience, you when to stop👍🙂
That looks really amazing to see you with your Paramotor on the Kayak, it looks like a mini airboat like they use in the swamps👍🙂
Super glad your ok, ruskin it for the biscuit
HI Tucker thanks for the great videos kayak has me laughing so hard
Very fun video!
That was amazing! Thanks for risking your life for our entertainment! Would love to see the take of from the kayak if possible.
oh.. i like the kayak with motor. looks dope
I wish I flew paramotors because I feel like the amount of experience I have riding a bike with no hands might give the edge I needed to pull this off. But having the wing might make it a lot harder than I think it would be as well. Regardless, it was a good try and cool to see an attempt. Glad you didn't get injured in that fall at the end too.
I’m blown away
These videos have been great 😂
Dude!!! These kind of videos are so F&CKING funny 😂
Harder than I thought! Those shots with the sun shine in the background were beautiful
Collaborate with Peter Sripol and make it into a RC paramotor and push it to it's limit.
YES! that would be amazing XD
Dude you rock! Riding a bike with no hands is common albeit unsafe as we know. I'd think a semi weak, engageable detent to keep the handle bars centered would be part of a good design. Also having the harness strap onto the bike should be considered allowing it to be "ditched" with on quick pull or an over-stress. But having the bars centered to allow the bulk of steering to be done by the wing might be the way to go. Having the bike provides SO MUCH MORE utility for travel plans. Keep pursing this. People in Seattle could fly this contraption to Friday Harbor, pack up the chute and ride into town for a meal or two and come back avoiding a mountain of painful traffic and ferry rides. I want your job when I grow up!
I remember the taking off on skis episode. Fun fun fun!
Hey Tucker, this reminds me of a particular stunt done by Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible when he skydives from a motorcycle jump
That kayaking with the motor looked like fun!
Love the content
Get a wagon/garden cart with removable sides. Don the motor and sit on the cart. Launch like a trike but let the lift pull you up off the cart. For 100x bonus points, land back on the cart.
Should do the kayak more. Looked ridiculously awesome. 😅 great content man.
A assist tabs on the cage like trikes. For the bike steering, a spring assist that pulls equally each side of bars to hold straight while hands off. And maybe tip steer or weight shift to aid in wing direction.
Just thoughts.
loved that.. try to extend the front axle and control the bike with legs.. you get those extenders of the shelf.. or use a tandem bike as Dan suggested... or try auto balanced bikes... try more legs controlled machines like your scooter, or all rollers.. It can start a good business marketing skates or even special designed ones for paramotors.. continue the great work..
Experimentation is how new things happen! Gotta try if not to dangerous.
you're pretty much out here doing the lords work...
add small bars (pegs) off of the front forks so you can pedal up to speed, then move your feet to the peg to steer, similar to a trike freeing up your hands for wing control.
Tucker never ceases to surprise me
I think I will start to come and watch live
Two “arms” going from behind the bike seat, to hold the risers, with separate fingers to hold the “A” s and brakes or, a tandem with a rider in front and pilot in back!
Tucker I would never ever fly. I can't even fly a drone wiithout crashing. I love your T-Shirt idea!!!! They turned out perfect. Saying a prayer for you. The crash video made me ask God to protect you and all around you. Have fun and remember to be safe!❤❤❤❤❤❤
I'm glad you threw in the towel!! If you want wheels use your trike setup.
Ha ha ha!! That was very funny, albeit a bit dangerous. It certainly exhibits how important our legs are when launching. We don't give them enough credit.
I am about to go kayaking and have thought about mounting my little EPPG to it or myself, but wow, so tippy, not sure it would be a good idea, cheers Tucker!
So cool to see the attempt. But, safety is #1, and that has to rule the day. Loved the video!
Well it can’t be #1 or you’d stay at home. But it’s part of the risk equation along with fun
Nice try there Tucker. I can't wait to see the kayak. Ever considered New England Leaf Peeping in the Fall from a Paramotor??
The tandem bike idea of Dan’s would be fun to watch!
I thought about doing the same with the first trike I bought that has a Simonini 200 but attaching it to a John boat. When I get it mounted and steering I’ll send you a video of it
I really like the “grow more arms “ idea. 🤣😂🤠🍀🍀🍀
Epic save . slow moooo steeze. Dirty Jersey does it again.
that was a clean bail nice job. glad it didn't blow up.
Holy crap this was great. Endless possibilties here.

with just a handle bar in the front wheel axle (like in BMX) to steer the bike with your feet when speed doesn't require you to pedals. that free yours hands for the break without a big modification. of the bike, and no modification on the fly devices
i want to see full vid on kayak!
Try it more like the way we launch from bicycles in free flight. Down a slight incline, gives you more float and time to catch your balance, so you can deal with stability before needing to hit the gas.
So close and so cool! Maybe you'd have better luck with a unicycle haha
The wing pulling backwards would surely prevent you from balancing
@kendokaaa yeah definitely so. And would probably be hard go get enough speed and force to inflate it. Maybe a touch a go on one instead 😆
@@michaelalphin Now that would be interesting
Smart man, no ego here just intelligence.
RISKY BUISNESS
@0:42 diggin the music here
Always entertaining...
This needs to be revisited.
I think its time i started taking my 1st steps towards para sailing.
Tucker can never be accused of not be creative! Take care buddy!
Once you're rolling with enough speed, and wing inflated, pick up your feet to steer the bike, then grab the toggles and take off while pushing off the bike
Really fun to see these attempts. Glad you knew when to quit. : )
Oh man , bro...
When you were saying .."I would have to grow a second set.......of arms"
I thought I was going to hear balls...haha..
Oh man ...
You are having a lot of adventures with that cheapie just the same..
Love my bro..
What you need is ape hangar bars so you can have brakes in hand
Advocacy a video with you, the paramotor and the kayak. I think that would be so cool
Tandem bike actually sounds like a good idea. Could be fun if you can find one
Foot pegs on the front wheel so you can reach up to the brake toggles and keep steering the bike with your feet somewhat.
Cool video.
hell yeah dude
You need to launch from an Ebike with a remote throttle. With your feet free from pedals now you can add foot-pegs to the front fork to steer. Leaving your hands free to steer the wing.
Been a good thing to go to the Sturgis flyover
Every now and then your videos include a clip of you making espresso. It's clear that you know what you're doing 😊 Can you recommend the machine that you're using?
A tandem bike seems like the best way since the person in the front can steer and control it. Then once you have enough speed you let go and take off and the person in front keeps going with the bike!
A tandem bike with Dan is the way to go!😂
You have to steer with the bike. If you want left, steer bike right until the chute is on the left side, then go left. Its counter-intuitive.
Know when to fold em. Smart man.
Thought you weregoing to strap the bike to it. I was thinking a air boat try take of in the kayak. I would use roller blades bugger runing for take off.
Fun!
Good try! I was hoping you'd do it so we could beg you to try to land on a tandem bike next.
Hookup the paramotor controls to the bicycle handlebars, stay on the bike like Elliot, would look so cool landing while on the bicycle, oh add seatbelt too
If your having balance problems, you need torque, weight, or surface area. You either an electric bike, or a Tricycle will provide these for you. The Ebike should give you the torque you need to pull the glider. Or the trike, which will help you balance the glider with the additional wheel and weight. I recommend the Trike (or even a dune buggy if you wanna try from a roof), as you can get enough power from the paramotor.
I think it will work if you make the bike clapped to the paraglider and you make the handle of the bike with suspention so that you can drive in a straight line without bike drifting to left or right and both your hand will be free to control the paraglider!
You can also try to fly from behind a motorclyclist, he will control the motor bike and you will control the paraglider, I think it is worth to give both ideas a go !
Bananas bars!! There still a thing right? That way you can hold your brakes and steer the bike until liftoff.
Glad you “know when to fold ‘em”! (Now my age is showing lol). Looked like a great way to break an ankle. 😂🤣😂 Definitely need a set of octopus arms for that take off! 🐙😁
I was thinking maybe have two plastic pipes coming up from the handlebars so you can still steer the bike by pushing forward or pulling back but slide up and down to control the brakes
This problem might be easy to solve. You could try Installing a lock on the gooseneck so while engaged, the bike can only steer with leaning. Then you dont need your hands on the handlebars.
This is like a real life version of the scenes from the classic anime movie Kiki's Delivery Service. OMG so cool!
I think the alibaba paramotor is tuckers new favorite paramotor.
It sounds like my last relationship. 😂
Lost one shoe at that breakup too, eh?
@@djunclemilo 🤣 More than that!
Although sizing up to a tandem sounds fun, I think down to a unicycle would be easier!
One thing I noticed is the bike is designed to make you lean forward, while the paramotor you need to lean backwards, there's a chance you could take off fully if you leaned backwards a bit more. As for the handle problem, maybe it would be best to lock it in place so you cant turn, that would delay the off course wobble a bit and you can focus more on the wing, but you'd have to almost treat the bike as a unicycle at that point (
You really can't lock the bars because it won't self balance then and you can't steer it anymore. What I would try is a different bike because it might not need as much speed to be stable without hand on the bars. Also a more powerfull motor or a different seating position would help with more speed
tiny air boat! yes! air boat that flys?
