I think Antonies collapse and crash was mostly the line tangle. Sure it's hard to crank your head back but you are only off the ground with a parachute. This converted into something with forward speed has great limitations. Anthony flew in marginal conditions on something really only made to jump out of aircraft falling from the sky. If our pilots bailing out over Vietnam had one of these to deploy if the enemy had made his lead sled plummet from the sky and he had dropped to 20 ft agl and dodged any 23mm anti-aircraft gun he wouldn't have been a pow for many years in horrible conditions while his fellows continued to kill civilians with bombs making the enemy very angry at you even years after attempting to not die by hitting the silk. Not sure how you rig up a rocket sled ejection seat while making room for the motor and propellor to seamlessly deploy even ft from the ground as easy as being jerked harshly to a stop. If the thing meant to fly you out of the country caused you to die upon ejection then it would be bad for saving you. It would have to sit for years not used in an aircraft hot and cold not producing noxious fumes in a tiny area. It would then need ready to fire up and run after many years of dead time in a tiny area. This is not to be conducive to proper operation. And the operator might be drastically injured before ejection making flying this out of the question. Also if on a boat at sea the corrosive atmosphere would delete this unit unless totally sealed from the elements. How small and deployable can you make it? The propellor would need the most ingenious design.

I watched Anthony’s horrific crash, don’t know about anyone else analyzing the accident video, but something just seemed off on the lines coming from his right, I can’t quite put my finger on it but I don’t think it’s a coincidence since the glider collapses on that side. I was watching it and I thought “Something looks off”, I noticed it just before the glider collapsed, maybe someone with a better eye can see what I’m talking about and make sense of it, but it might need a closer look.

I just saw a video of a guy peeing wild mid flight. Like just peeing in the air and it was raining down. Absolutely disgusting.

Wonderful, that's where I will go one day. But you shouldn't have killed that poor hornet. I guess it was a queen, when it's such a big thing. Hornets are actually quite calm, sure they can become angry if you provoke them, but they are not that a**hole angry like wasps. I once had a giant nest of them right over my homes door for a year and they didn't even stung me once, neither they tryied to attack me.

Your advice to fly high first to recon an area before flying low is on the money. Barbwire, power lines, tree stumps, cattle, tractors, and other bad things for DudeMan to hit. Any roads are a red flag for bad things to hit.

It seems that the pilot that hit power lines shorted them together and that short took all the current; if he had hit both of the wires at the same time before or instead of the wires touching first he would have been like a fuse.

Weird the tangle/knot can't be seen from the video. It was pretty clear. I noticed the trailing line at the back. Broken Line? Would that have affected profile? No reserve. Crazy.

No rigid frame narrows the safe operating window of conditions down to the size of a porthole......and when you consider the minimal education/training required to fly one of these, you realize why the pilots are well-advised to carry robust health and life insurance.

Im a fixed-wing pilot, and have found out about paramotor aviation through your channel. Fabtastic content. Some commenters here need to understand: the way you and Anthony calmly discuss the mistakes and lessons learn in a frank, honest manner is the only way something like this will never happen again. Owning the mistakes without ego and learning from them is the most important thing that this video can achieve. Whether its fixed-wing, rotorcraft, powered parachute, or any other category of flight, we accept a certain amount of risk every time we fly. It is our job as safe pilots to mitigate every risk we can and have a plan for recovery when (not if, but WHEN) something unexpected goes wrong. We can't catch every problem, even with the most thorough preflight or pre-maneuver checks. As an example: I wont take off if my engine is leaking oil. But what if the leak is pooling inside the cowling? It's unreasonable to remove a dozen screws before every flight. That there might be an invisible problem is a risk I ACCEPT. So before takeoff I make the plan for what I will do *when* the engine fails on departure, to mitigate that risk. It sounds like you operate with a similar mindset. I wish Anthony the best of recovery. And I hope that people here in the comments section who are accusatory recognize how much strength of character it takes to sit down and reflect like this. Thank you for this video!
